I’d never seen a white deer before, how beautiful was he 🍂🦌🍁 Groundbreaking shaky potato cam footage I know, but still so thrilled to have seen him :D what are you guys up to this weekend? Much love and happy Autumn 🐻CB
Rarely, fleetingly, fortune may bring you a sighting of a deer without pigment in its coat, that appears completely white. Seeing a white deer is considered an omen throughout the world. The Celts thought that white deer were messengers from the Otherworld.
I just Googled white deer and the first link was on the British Deer Society site. I won't post the link because UA-cam doesn't like links in comments but it's easy to find and worth a quick read.
Hi,Iv been watching your channel for about a month now, I used to tent camp when I was young (30odd years ago) and you've given me the Bug again so iv been shopping for bits, my cloud peak 2 came just today. Anyway thanks for the beautiful videos I can't wait to get out there.😎
With things the way they are in the US now I really needed this video today. Your attitude and voice are so calming. I am so crushing on you. Thank you for another awesome video. Be well
Last week I had monsters around me at Slovakian forest! Was having a night over with my van, heading from Finland to Greece! That place was so full of animals, I saw owl, deers, fox, nutriafamily, hawks, and a forest guard! I always seek for those kind of places as you had, half ready shelters! Camo netting is cherry on top of a cake! 🎉
Nothing better than getting your shelter up before the rain comes. I've always felt that camping next to fallen trees is a great spot. It gives you a great wind break and makes setup so much quicker and easier.
Yeh they're great aren't they. I also love the thought that if a branch were to fall, the fallen tree would likely take most of the impact 🍁🍂 (although there was nothing directly overhead on this occasion)
You lucky lady! Meeting the white stag is a seal of approval from the Guardien of the forest. The White Stag is one of our most ancient and beautiful legends and well worth taking a look at!
Ahh I will look it up, he was so majestic! Wish I'd had a huge lens with me so that I could have got a decent image of him from afar instead of my wonky shaky-cam haha, lovely beast, very glad to have seen him 🍁🦌🍂
@@WildBeareit doesn't matter that you have no decent picture of him. In fact, it's even better. Rare moments of magic are too precious for mundane pictures. 😉 I feel very happy for you! ❤
I actually don’t think i could solo camp in a forest or wood …definitely think I’d get scared 😱..so my total admiration to you ‘wildbeare’…..your videos always make me feel happy 😊…thanks 👌
Ahh thank you I'm so glad :) You never now you might like it! I'm very happy being alone so it's quite heavenly for me. I'm more scared of busy places and lots of people haha. Have a lovely week 🍂🍁
Planes are hard to avoid completely but you can look up most of the patterns for commercial flights and try to avoid them. Despite the noise what a beautiful location and to see the albino deer 🦌 was a real treat. Tarp set up was great just glad it didn’t rain any more because of the wet edge. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your adventures.☮️out my friend keep you feet dry.
Mm they seem to be impossible to avoid down south.. strangely I had a camp here a few weeks ago and the planes were much less noisy! I did the same and looked up the flight paths and it turns out they change direction depending on where the wind is coming from, so on this occasion they were coming right overhead. Strange that they were so low though as I was a good 10 miles from the airport. I took a drive out for the next camp and while there were hardly any commercial planes, the sky was full of lil noisy private planes zipping about instead haha! Thanks for sharing this with me, very beautiful there isn't it :) 🍁🦌🍂
The white deer... Reminded me once years ago down SW border of Wales on army training area ... In the fog one night walking along a track ... I suddenly saw a multi point massive stag pure white ... Very ghostly and it looked like royalty of the deer world
Wow, that must have been amazing! I don't think I've ever seen a stag in person. These ones are fallow deer which are smaller, but they still look so majestic with their antlers. The stags must be breathtaking 😍
@WildBeare it freaked me out in the fog at midnight just stood looking at me ... Really majestic... Steam coming off it as a cold night... It was pretty much near horse size ... I later learned it might have been a gift given to the army unit based there by some very rich Saudi or Yemeni officer who'd been on a course there ... This was back in 2004
These vids are just fantastic, where do you get the ideas from Claire?. I remember building hideouts and dens as a child, you haven't lost that innocence! Once again, cool video Claire.
Thanks so much, I never lost that love for a den :D I just see places when I'm out on a walk and I think ohh.. that'd be great to make a den with! And I make a note of where it is and come back another time with me camping stuff :)
Hi Claire what a treat . You are amazing doing you love and sharing it with us. You are at one with nature and all you get up to in the woods are up a mountain . Keep on doing it I’ve been watching your streams and one day i might be out there under the stars with you 😊😊
The white deer is a real beauty. Very brave with all those creepy crawlies that are probably nesting in the tree and in the middle of nowhere on your own.
He was so gorgeous wasn't he! 😍 Oo I always use a head bug net to keep the critters off me.. twice in the past I woke up to a slug in my hair and I won't tarp camp without one now haha
Love the video Claire😊 I have only ever seen one white deer , many years ago ,I remember lifting my dog up to show her so Your video has brought back a special memory.. 😊
For the plane ‘problem’ you could check the wind direction. Maybe with a different wind direction the planes have to use a different runway and then maybe also a different flight path. If so, those woods could still be useable with different weather.
Yep, I filmed a camp there a few weeks ago with much less issue, did some researching the flight paths and it's exactly as you said, due to the wind direction they had changed course and were now coming in right overhead. It was so loud and continuous I'm not sure I'd wanna risk it again, sadly, as it's really gorgeous there and otherwise very quiet. I can't believe how low they were for being 10 miles out from the airport! Thanks for watching :)
Still loving your little popping in and out. Nice little impromptu shelter. Too bad you had to be in someone's fly-over woods. Cinch up the backpack belt and keep looking - as we know you will. Thanks for bringing us along. Each time we get a smidge of an idea of how we might be able to incorporate your adaptations.
Geez the colours look good. Love the insects too. Havnt been to the UK in autumn. Only winter and summer. Stayed at Askam in Furness and hiked the lakes… winter was kinda like hunkered down and then the weather would break and we would make a mad dash for it. Great memories 👍
That white deer was so beautiful. I've only ever seen a deer in the wild once. It was about 30 years, when I was in my local wood taking our beautiful greyhound, Mickey, out for his walk. He was snuffling about in the ground, having found some interesting smells I guess, when I heard some rustling and trampling sounds from up ahead. Suddenly a small deer (Munchjack, are they called?) appeared from out of the wood and was about to cross the trail I was on. The deer saw us, and immediately stopped, then very slowly and COMPLETELY quietly backed up and went back into the woods. For me it was a very magical moment. As for Mickey? He never even noticed!
Amazing to see a white stag! Looks like a great camping spot, apart from the planes. It sounds like you were just off the end of the runway at Stansted!
Aww another lovely vid ..... White Deer big bonus ......... I did miss you cooking supper with all the little ingredients and tiny containers ........ yes i know I'm such a wally . ha ah
Mm yes I couldn't see him near camp, apart from those far away shots. My trail cam didn't get him either, so he must have been further away than he sounded. The two I saw were such beautiful boys! 🍂🦌🍁
@ I had a dog that was gored by a mule deer buck in Colorado, in my yard. He lived a long life, so that is the story highlight. So yes, steer clear of a buck in rut. Claire, you are an inspiration. Keep up the good work. ❤️
Nice to see you out again, Claire. Nice place to put up camp with that downed tree. And, you got it up in the nick of time to escape the rain. I think it's so brave that you camp out in the woods by yourself. I would love to do that too, but I don't dare. It is also not allowed to be in the forest at night. And certainly not for sleeping. The forests here are very transparent. So then you really have to be stealth. I love your videos!

Comfy-cozy was the exact term that came to my mind. Too bad it was under a busy flight path. Otherwise, it would be a perfect spot to relax and decompress. Thanks for sharing!
You did good. I like the way you used the camo. The flight path is unfortunate, however. You are picking good sites inspite of that. ❤ Love that fallen tree
