    This was a great video, I’ve read a lot about the Air Force Academy and think it would be something awesome to do with my life. My dream is to work in the Air Force and become an officer. Get a good education and one day possibly work for NASA. I’m 14 and was wondering what classes for high school would you might recommend for a younger person to help develop some skills that would be good for possibly enrolling and going to school there. I understand that it seems that only a small percentage get accepted and have the opportunity to learn here. But I 100% willing to put in the hard work and try.

      Hey! Im also 14 here with the same goals. I would recommend getting into JROTC IF your school has it. Regardless of what branch it is for it is really helpful in developing military skills and develops personallity and leadership skills. If your school doesn't have it then ignore this lol. But some classes that would be good are computer science classes and try to take as much advanced classes as you can and obviously try to aim for straight A'S (GPA of 3.8 or above). Be sure to join sport teams as you need to have some atheltic background to get into USAFA. And thats really all Im doing and aiming for and what I would recommend from all the research Ive conducted. Best luck and hope to possibly meet you one day at USAFA!

    So you need a 3.88 gpa for the Air Force academy do they just look at senior year high school gpa or they take an average gpa of the 4 years of highscool

    • @BrandenVentures
      @BrandenVentures  3 роки тому +8

      So the GPA is average across your entire time in school. However, the academy looks at all 4 years so make sure not to slack as a senior (:
      Also the 3.88 is a medium and by means is it a requirement. There have been plenty of people admitted with lower!

    Hi! I'm a high school junior (finishing the year) interested in applying to the academy, but I'm confused about how many recommendation letters I need ask for. There are so many required between the actual admissions and nomination ones - Did you reuse the same letters for all your congressmen? And did you use the same recommendation letters from nomination when you applied to the academy?

    • @dellamoonshine4714
      @dellamoonshine4714 10 місяців тому +1

      For reference, I ended up asking teachers to write 2 letters but said they could just switch who it was addressed to since the point of the letter was pretty much the same thing (for both school and different congressmen). I was appointed to the Class of 2028 in January :)

      @@SageTutor Yep, you need approval before you can continue the USAFA application :) Your application due date is based on when you get the approval.
      Nomination applications are different though! That's through your senators and house representative. You can start that right now.
      Some tips are to theme your application. Make a list of your strongest skills and exaggerate them throughout. Also, the interviews are VERY important! I aced mine because I had an amazing Mentor ALO who drilled me on them again and again.
      You should know the categories you're being graded on so when you're asked a question, you know what skill they want you to talk about. Then, make a list of your experiences that fit that skill and a few bullet points on what to say about them.
      Don't stress and let the conversation be very natural, ask as many questions as you can (about absolutely anything, even unrelated TV shows like I did).
      Get in contact with your Mentor ALO if you haven't already and start practicing! If you need anything from me, feel free to email because I'd love to help. You can reach me at mochamaddy@gmail.com

    I have quite a few questions. Do I have any chances of being accepted with these qualities? I have a 4.0 GPA, but my composite score on the ACT was only 27. I will be retaking it, but will retaking it even matter? I thought I need to be submitting my application soon. I haven't done much for sports in school, but I was planning to do many next year. I have done bpa, though. And I'm not sure how much this matters, but I do have a falconer's license, and will be of general status by the time I would enter the academy. Will that help me in any way? I know the fact that I haven't done much for sports or high school activities, and the low act score, and it all drops my chances, but will the GPA sort of balance it out? And if I do those things next year, will that even matter?
    What are the chances of me being being accepted, and what can I do to better my current chances?
    Thanks so much!!
