Hey Motodynamic. I’m having an issue. When i turn the bike on the DRLs turn on ( the long led strip ). When I start up the engine the high/low beams dont turn on. Is there any reason that might be or anything I can do to troubleshoot?

Hiya, not sure if you still answer questions on this video but what would happen if instead of moving all the side fairings you instead just removed the mirrors, front screen, the black panels under the head lights and undid the 4 screws around the dash, i ask because it looks like you could remove the front headlight fairing assembly? As all that it seems holding the front head on other then what i mentioned is the clip connection to the top side fairing so surely u could pry that away in the same way u already did? I watched very intently and rewound many times and i cant see what would stop it theoretically so was hoping you could comment incase im missing something, thank dude
There are interference clips between the nose fairing and upper side fairings that require a sliding motion to separate them. There may not be enough slack for the nose fairing to slide back if the side fairings are present and still attached. You can possibly force it but may end up breaking the clips. Maybe you can loosen the side fairings but not remove them completely and that should allow enough give to slide them apart. Also the bike's main wiring harness where you need to disconnect them is behind the right side upper side fairing so unplugging them may be difficult.
Hey man when putting on the left fairing, is the longer bolt suppose to go in the bottom middle hole? I messed up the order and arrangement of bolts thanks
Are you referring to the upper or lower left fairing? If it helps you can tell me the minute and seconds in our video to which bolt you are asking about and we can let you know.
@motodynamic I know this is an old video, but I’m getting this assembly for my 2012 R6 in the next few weeks. I have a led pilot light and I was curious if there was a connector included with these headlights for the pilot light or if I will need to wire it in? Thanks!
If you have the american model R6, this bike does not support LED pilot light. There is no output plug to power it up, whereas Europe and other countries do have the output plug near the air inlet opening behind the nose fairing. You are going to need to hard wire it somewhere if you wanted to make them work. The only place we know that has power is the off the front signals.

Yes for european model the DRL hookup harness is required. Out of the box, this head light does not support any flashing of the turn signals. Turn signal is not allowed in the head light due to the spacing requirements.
Hey MotoDynamic , Question :Is it possible to wire the LED strips as daytime running lights with the low beam off,??? (in retrospect , Only the led strips would be on,) When you insert the key in ignition , only the led strips light up , when the bike is started the low beams come on. I would like it so that when i start the bike the low beams stay off.
Unfortunately the default Yamaha setting is that the low beams turn on when you start the engine. There is no way to turn it off while the engine is running, unless you install an ON/OFF toggle switch on the low beam input wire. The LED strip is prewired to turn on the moment you turn the ignition key so it is basically on all the time.
@motodynamic When I toggle the high and low beam switch on my 2016 Yama R6, nothing changes. I am running the DRL blinker add on wires but I have disconnected everything and repeatedly followed the video tutorial’s to the T, and I can get the little bulb to turn on. Or maybe it’s high. Regardless, I toggle the switch and nothing changes, it just stays bright af. Help please

I installed Angel eyes and did my own connection but cant get both headlights to turn on while running and splitting the full beam on one side it seems to short out any help please?
Because this bike has the low beam power on the right side and the high beam power on the left, you will need to split and run the low beam power to the left and split and run the high beam power to the right.

@@Yama83 Probably best to send us photos or video showing your wires and how you have it setup and we will take a look. The factory R6 only has 1 low beam output plug and 1 high beam output plug.
@@Yama83 I am unsure how the angel eyes have theirs setup, but maybe you can just use 1 of the 2 plugs. As long as power flows through the plug when you turn on the bike it will work. If possible I would suggest to revert back to the stock wiring setup.

The low beams are defaulted on from Yamaha. If you wanted to turn them off you will need to place an inline ON/OFF toggle switch on the low beam input power wire.
Cause on my R6 with the Wiring-harness there is a fourth connection between the air sensors to the lil LED diamond. I also cant see where your LED diamond ist Connected to, you dont show that in your video
The LED diamond does not exist on the american model. It is a fake housing with no wires coming out of it. You will need the DRL hookup harness for non-USA models to make it work: www.motodynamic.com/led-drl-hookup-harness-for-non-usa-model-2008-2016-yamaha-r6.html
I have heard the canadian market R6 does not need it. You can check by turning on your bike, then look at your front turn signals. If your front turn signal lights up as a DRL, then you do not need the harness. It will be plug and play in all scenarios.
With modifications, there was someone here on YT that installed it into a RJ11, but the outcome was not perfect. It left gaps and protrusions between the lens and front fairing.

There is someone on youtube who did the conversion. I am unsure of the modification but likely some trimming/shaving of your nose fairing to get it to fit. Since the shape of the lens is different it will leave gaps in some areas and some area where the lens will stick out past the fairing.

If its the entire left side (front, rear, dash) that stopped working, most likely it is a blown fuse. If it is just the fronts then most likely the connection vibrated loose. Check those

@@chaoticend27 It uses long life LEDs similar to the newer cars these days that come with factory LEDs so there is no need to replace them. Because electronics do not last forever and in the rare cases that they dont we offer a 1 year warranty on all our products.

The seller told me that he had to deactivate the long upper led light in order to make it legal for Italy . The thing is that I would like to activate it because it’s more beautiful, so I was wondering if the thing that makes the headlights illegal for Europe is the whole led or only if it is used as turning signals. In other words if I take the DRL Hookup Harness I should be able to activate also the led right?
@@simoneggipo7738 The ECE version has the ECE registration number engraved on the front lens E8_148_14154_00 & E8_149_14154_00. The LED light bars used as turn signals will cause it to be illegal, they are to remain on constantly as DRLs in order to be legal. Installing the DRL hookup harness will allow them to activate when you turn on your key.
Our test rider may have been on the lighter side of the scale, you can simply turn the adjustment screw to make it higher based to your weight/preference.

Can this assembly be run with HIDs?
Unfortunately HIDs cannot be installed. This headlight runs a proprietary full LED chip, circuit board, driver and aluminum heat sunk internals.

How come these don’t fit the 2006 model of the R6. I thought they were the same?
Rear housing is the same, however the front lens is different. We attempted to install the 2008 internals into a 2006 but it just wont fit.

I’ve had mine for a few months now and for some reason my left turn signal and integrated turn signal have stopped working.
If its the entire left side (front, rear, dash) that stopped working, most likely it is a blown fuse. If it is just the fronts then most likely the connection vibrated loose. Check those

Yes, we have an add-on module in the works that will allow both DRL and turn signal functionality in our head lights. We expect to release it sometime in November this year.

Which is the difference on r6r 2006?
The 2006 model has a different shaped front lens assembly so the front nose fairings are also different where the headlight sits.

Currently no, but we are in the process to get the head light ECE approved for legal use in the EU. I am unsure of the timeframe.

It does not use any bulbs. It has a custom built circuit board and LED chips inside.
motodynamic how does one replace a light if it goes out?
@@chaoticend27 It uses long life LEDs similar to the newer cars these days that come with factory LEDs so there is no need to replace them. Because electronics do not last forever and in the rare cases that they dont we offer a 1 year warranty on all our products.

@@simoneggipo7738 The legal one for Europe has ECE certification for street legal use, while the other one (DOT USA model) does not. The next production run we will offer 1 unit that will have both ECE and DOT compliance for worldwide use.
@@motodynamic thank you for the answer. I was curious because I recently bought an R6 with yours headlight and I don’t know if they are ECE certified or they are the USA one. The seller told me that he had to deactivate the long upper led light in order to make it legal for Italy . The thing is that I would like to activate it because it’s more beautiful, so I was wondering if the thing that makes the headlights illegal for Europe is the whole led or only if it is used as turning signals. In other words if I take the DRL Hookup Harness I should be able to activate also the led right?
@@simoneggipo7738 The ECE version has the ECE registration number engraved on the front lens E8_148_14154_00 & E8_149_14154_00. The LED light bars used as turn signals will cause it to be illegal, they are to remain on constantly as DRLs in order to be legal. Installing the DRL hookup harness will allow them to activate when you turn on your key.
Please make it possible for R6 2007!!!!

Lmao “headlights should shine at the right height for an an average rider”. Dude mine came with the lights pointing all the way down
Our test rider may have been on the lighter side of the scale, you can simply turn the adjustment screw to make it higher based to your weight/preference.
@@motodynamic no the lights were almost all the way down and crossed I could barely see maybe 15 ft in front of me the first night with them. Learning experience don’t trust manufacturers

Do the led strips blink with the turn signal?
In the default configuration (out of the box) the LED strips do not blink with the turn signals. You'll need to purchase the optional Intelliflash module for Yamaha in order to enable them to flash.

It will not fit. The 2006 R6 has a different shaped front lens, so when you go to mount it into the front fairing it will not fit.
