@@SloppyMechanics thanks matt! ive got a 4l80 hd2 5.3 ss2 gt45 combo 550-600 wheel goals about to pull the pin on a summit pro 3600 stall or circle d of the same. is that what youd recommend?
Pulled my motor apart to gap rings, and it is already at .035 should I get new rings and gap them to 24 or send it?

Yeah specially on a truck engine and not a higher compression l33 but shift overall power number down
Tease I wanted to see what it made with the 3.10 and non intercooled boost psi...seems this setup with just some meth injection might be the ticket...its probably gonna drop 4+ psi across a cheap intercooler anyway...I THINK the outlet housing literally has a meth port built in...
I had 3.1 on and it just makes more coolant overflow loo

Nice. 375 hp in an early Fox gets sketchy pretty easy, 500 wheel is bonkers. Better just use your big toe only if you get caught in the rain !

Man, I'm kinda surprised it did 500 tire so easily. That's a really good and simple setup. I agree with the other comments, that is sounds killer too. Long tubes really have a much much better sound than a turbo as a muffler (I miss the sound of mine, but also like the choo choo noises 😂). Thanks Matt! We love seeing another Fairmont - our first slop love.
I respectfully disagree. But I prefer subtle whistle to loud headers, every time. The beauty is you get to build yours, your way, and I'll build mine, my way. And everyone wins !
@@jamesgeorge4874 Totally agree, the beauty is that it is personal. I have a single turbo setup now, but liked how my truck sounded with long tubes and glasspacks. The older I get, the quieter I want my ride 😂. So the current deal is turbo and glasspacks to keep it mild on the ear drums.

The last version of my 80 Capri had long tubes, 2 1/2 duals and Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers, my deer hunting freinds said they could hear it start, and me row gears and drive about 3 miles to the expressway, and then send it to triple digits every day I left work at the end of 3rd shift. Now I drive a tuned Volvo T5 but all the exhaust is stock, it has a cutout, but I rarely open it....

Smaller pulley brings the boost on sooner not that it makes more.
I realy wanted to see 600whp with no intercooler on e85. I know a intercooler would add power, but sometime there is no space. Like on my car.

@@SloppyMechanics I'm trying to find the video on your UA-cam channel, but I can't. I vividly remember at least 10 years ago... you installed a 4l80E in Corey's silver Silverado and you had a residential house light switch to lockup the torque converter. I CAN'T FIND IT, MOTT. It's killing me.

4l60 seems to be doing p.good
I built those transmissions, specifically just those. They get a bad name because most builders don’t know what they are doing or don’t care because “it’s a 4l60” and/or the tuner deletes torque management on the shifts….which you CANNOT DO and expect it to live. I leave 15-20% tq management on the 1-2 shift and 10-15% on the 2-3. My 4l60 been living for over 3 years in my car. 22+psi boost on a built 5.3.
Just needs a console to put the Werthers hard candy and where is your Jessica Tandy hat.
So that's how you cool down a supercharger...lol.

I drove my z with it spray coolant for like a year. long as it doesn't get worse screw it.
Exhaust sounds better than turbo. A modified 4l60 will handle 500hp and 7000rpm in that car no problem.
You can already tell that 60e is struggling haha

I’m assuming it makes 11lbs due to no cooler. Mine makes 154kpa at 6800rpm with a 3.1 pulley. Curious to what timing you were able to throw at it at max boost wot.
Do y’all have same engine size, heads, and camshaft? Bigger engine-less boost, better heads-less boost, more camshaft-less boost. If everything is the same and all that’s different is the ic then you may have an issue there. 3-4 lbs across a core seams a bit much.

I run a 5.3 with 706 heads
It currently has a truck Norris camshaft from when it was NA. Will be changed of course.
@@Boosted_e63chuck a cam that pulls hard on the top pairs well with the rising boost curve. I’m sure when Matt covers the data and theory you can check out the timing. Have to look back for the f7 combo can’t remember. Just remember when you reduce the restriction through the engine the boost goes down. Another way to check your core would be look at pressure fore/aft
Check the pressure pre and post intercooler. Might have pressure drop across the intercooler if it's a small cooler.
Belt slip means less boost too 🤣 usually it’s evident like the boost drops but you do want to make sure on sc that the belts system is tip top

The fire hose blasting the blower😁It sounds killer for sure. Really looking forward to seeing what the little pulley makes after you fix the head gaskets. I switched to SCE Vulcan cut ring gaskets and hopefully that solved the head gasket issues. Deck wasn't flat was most of the issue I believe. Had to take .010 off to get it straight.

yeah ill go over that stuff in log video, the big notes are that it didnt make power just pushed more water unforunately
