Kid and life is just crazy right now. I don't have the time to follow each episode. I love this. It's great for us with small kids and no free time. Once I get the time again I'll go back and binge watch your Alfa series. I have been waiting for that since I saw it the first time.
Loved it. Definitely summarize every 10 or so, but don't rush the build. There are quite a few of us that enjoy watching the labor and detail unfold. Ms Jeff is lovely, too. 😁👍
@@HomeBuiltByJeff I bet is shocked even you how much you have managed to do in the time since you stripped it and sent it off to have what remained of the paint and the hidden filler areas exposed. Do you keep a track of the man hours you put in to a project. I once totaled up the time I put in to an engine swap and decided never to do it again, But the feeling I had knowing I did it myself changed my mind. This video is brilliant.
Dear Mr and Mrs Jeff, I'm really enjoying the build bits for the Porka and the Alfalfa Sprout. After building a car myself (two actually) I can really appreciate the time and effort you're putting in. Also, I understand and acknowledge the important support required from the bride to undertake such projects. Love the presentations and explanations. Keep it coming as you see fit, but don't forget the work/life balance. The Mrs Jeff bloopers were the best. You rock.
Jeff, good to see it in a condensed version after having seen all the detailed version, it gives dimension to the job. Loved the Mrs Jeff out takes, she's a "staunch" lady.
Wow.....just, wow......first time checking out the video a d my first concern was simply.not replacing the sills on their entirety.....but then.... I continued to watch..... and if something was rubbish, he simply fabricated a new piece.... absolutely impressive and brilliant workmanship. Can't wait to see what this looks like, and more importantly, how it sounds once he's done! Thank you for the eye candy!
I don’t understand how anybody can dislike these videos. They’re awesome! Thanks Jeff, great work and content. Look forward to every new video you release. Really like these progress videos, they remind me of the Porsche video that went viral.
Nice vid Jeff, I appreciate the summary video as I haven't caught every one of your build videos in detail so it works for me, also had a laugh at the blooper reel.
Holy smokes you have come a long way! Even the Mrs Jeff bloopers real highlights just how much work goes on in each video just to make the video without actually using a power tool. Keep up the good work.
What incredible work. I had a 1968 GT Junior with a 2.0 liter, carbs and a hot cam back in 1986. It was super fun, and also a complete rust bucket. I had thought about fixing some of the rust but now that I've seen what's involved my mind is blown. Blown. Thumbs up and a subscribe, can't wait to see how fast it will with the Ferrari motor.
Pretty crazy how small those engines really are, you never get too much of a perspective just looking at it in the engine bay. Then again I’m used to seeing huge big blocks and blown small blocks stuffed into engine compartments so maybe it’s just me. Great start to what will be an EPIC project, best of luck to ya mate keep us updated and we’ll keep you in mind!
Having watched all the series as they arrive the detail (and frustrations) are great to see. This reminds me just how much effort you put in! Mrs Jeff must have patience of saint but as always a star and well worth the wait!
Saw one of these a few months ago going really cheap here. But that was a goner. Watching this video makes me very happy. Waiting for the finish product.
Awesome video! I wish I was as talented. You must have the patience of a saint , I know I would not get those results from the car you started off with. Well done mate.
Nice summary episode. Love watching welding and fabrication. I liken it to watching a trauma (e.g. war zone) victim being rehabilitated. The exception being is that watching you in this restorative process is engaging and satisfying. Keep up the good.
Hi,Jeff the only thing i can say is amazing, your are just that!! I was flabbergasted seeing you make your very own reversible body stand !With your insane skill as machinist you have virtually rebuilt the Alfa's body from scratch.I am going to prepare myself a great meal this week-end and binge watch all the episodes,i see on the right side that it goes all the way to part 25 at least! Like i said before AMAZING!! Happy new year old chum.
In one word: WOW! In a few more: This is the first time I watch your channel, and my God, are you well organized! And what a job, you basically rebuilt that chassis from the ground up. My only complain is that you make what you do look SO easy - and I know it's not! ;) I was surprised by the relatively small weight difference between the original engine and the Ferrari engine. I look SO much forward to the rest of the serie of videos - you are VERY good at telling a story in the filming alone - you hardly need to explain anything. I will of course binge watch the previous videos...
100% Master craftsman indeed. Subscribed and look forward to seeing the result. Of course if you live near the ocean, excluding the engine swap this is a regular 10'000 mile service on a 60's - 70's Alfa
Subbed. Never mind the engine car combo, which is _wonderfully_ bloody nuts, I saw the rust 😮 AKA Official Italian iron oxide chassis lightening and thought what kinda crazy mad fecker is going to give this a go. And then you showed up and did. Kudos sir. 😀👍🏻

Maybe an idea: The plenum on the Ferrari is quite tall, and will obstruct the view from the steering wheel. I think Maserati uses the same engine in their Qatroporte, but with a lower plenum, as it is a front engined rear wheel drive, not to obstruct the view.

Yeah, buddy- somewhere between 5 and 10 episodes sounds about right- as you have warned us many times, sometimes it takes a lot of time to see any progress. I am still amazed that you got around the car going all dimensionally flopsy when you took out so much structure without bracing it to preserve the door sill shape dimension, floor level, etc- scared me silly! I was certified to work on Alfas in the mid '70s- the Guilietta was one of my favorites, but the body shop guys weren't impressed with "dimensional regularity" at all. I can see now why! Much of the pain and detail you went through is more apparent in the "fast forward mode". and some bits that were left on the edit floor- so do this! If nothing else, it should give you some satisfaction that much did get done, though slower than you would have preferred. Mrs. Jeff working on "getting it right" is a worthy reel all by itself!FR
Could you imagine how successful a company or county would be if they had people with this mans talent knowledge and work ethic this is ridiculous how he can achieve so much all on his own
Nice project, great skills and women with "italian beauty":) Greatings from polish Alfa Romeo forum! 45 people had broken mouse or glasses and pressed dislike...

Good day Jeff bloody hell I just watch this video has I,am quite new too your channel boy oh boy Jeffhave you done some work just alone on the body it’s was a piece of scrap Jeff but now you can see where all your hard work has gone into well worth watching big thumbs up Jeff
I have the 105.21, which is the carbureted italian version. I suggest to take care in the rear suspensions, unless you want to build a drift car. The original ones are very crude so you might want some GTA kit which makes the car sit a little on the rear and be less of a hazard. You could also put the same GTA wheels. The front suspensions are great, the wheel needs some tightening up sometimes but yields great sensations. Stylistically if the engine is higher than the original, you might want to consider doing a scalino (little step, see the first series alfa giulia 1600 gt) instead of a bump or a hole. Careful about the body overall, original starts having aerodynamic problems at 160km, with the front that starts getting lift. Personally the original is exhilarating enough, no contest compared to fluffy modern cars. You can beat stronger cars at the green light because you have a very direct feel of the thing. Dynamically, it is already a bit pointed on the front. GTA is a bit better. So with an engine swap (rape!!) you will get a monster. In the rain you have two options, lethal understeer and lethal oversteer so I suggest trying to push it only when you are comfortable enough and with plenty of space.
Great summary video! I would recommend to include also some vocal descriptions of what is going on and maybe slowing down on some of the challenges. Think this kind of video can also attract some new viewers.
