@@acon2834 Hotel Carter on 43rd between 7th and 8th. What a dump!
I stayed in that hotel in 2008. It was called a very "Soviet" hotel by my taxi driver. Lol, he was right. Not a nice hotel at all. I would have thought that by now they would've fixed it up. Love the videos brother! Keep them coming!
I always remember this city because of their team that reached the Europa League final, sadly the team doesn't exist anymore
Yeah I also remember them when they reached the 2015 finals, I really wanted them to win it because they really deserved it and it would hve been nice to see an Eastern European team shine, maybe if they had they wouldn't have gone bankrupt, who knows. I'm 99% sure that it was called FC Dnipro. And by the way there's a new "successor" team created recently called Dnipro-1 I believe.
@@DonCristian_DPB spot on
@@dmitriyaleksandrov5451 how are they doing by the way?
@@DonCristian_DPB well they are back in UA premier league. Not as good as they were though
@@dmitriyaleksandrov5451 yeah I did some research and they really aren't professional. It's such a shame what happened to FC Dnipro and the city of Dnipro, which has actually got a really good stadium, just no good club to match it. Well I do wish Dnipro-1 and all Ukrainian teams the best.
Haha, it is "soviet style" room. Fridge Dnepr and TVs, furniture are stylish collection from USSR times. However the window with fortochka looks truly original. Thanks for sharing and feeding my nostalgia.
"Soviet floor", I'm laughing my ass off
It is actually quite soviet. It is called "паркет".
I loved the locals recognising him. Great moment 👌🏼
I love the stained glass window.
Been following your main channel for a while and me and my husband, in our lock down boredom and increasing alcoholism have come up with a game. Every time you say SOVIET we take a drink! Started with shots but that ended very badly!! so now it’s just a gulp of our beer/wine etc!
Thanks for the entertainment
In Texas we call those "potted" plants. "Pot" plants are something completely different! 😃
Hmm, thats weird. in British English they are always pot plants (but then we don't tend to call the other variety 'pot' here very often)
Yeah I thought he was joking for a second. It didn't occur to me that "pot" might be a british dialect version of "potted."
@@citizenerased1992
They're pot plants in Ozland too.
@@AUmarcus Can verify this. In fact here in Oz, nobody gives it second thought if you say/hear 'pot plant', even though people smoke and call it 'pot' here too.
On the other hand : In Oz if someone says that they are growing just 'tomato plants', it often gives people a smile at the very least.
Same in NC 😂🤣😂🤣
Bald shook hands with two people and didn't die. There's hope for life on earth.
Rumour has it the city is so windy that bald actually had a full head of hair when he first got there
Balcony at 4:43 is taped because the windows is very old and leaks cold air not because people throwing themselves down comiting suicide
That hotel was actually nicer than some of the UK budget hotels I've stayed in
Not bad at all. The mini lobby's on the upper floors in pretty cool. I never see that here in the states. It would be nice if they'd open up the balcony. The only thing I can think of is they're trying to prevent drafts, heat loss and higher utility costs. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers!
Omg, I am from Dnipro. I knew you would visit my city one day! 😊
Great video Benjamin Love your videos
The room doesn't look bad at all, apart from the old dirty fridge
@ - hey look. It's Chili inside, and it's Chili outside
at least the freezer defroster works. Can't say the same for my 'modern' bedroom fridge
It's actually clean. Most of soviet plastic has yellowish tint.
You got a beautiful mosaic next to the toilet, that is the value added bonus. You shoudl try the expensive hotels in Caracas! :) Enjoy your stay dude!
Hotel “Mongoluk” is saying: “hold my soviet sink”!
Mr. Bald very interesting and I love the history lesson! The room is glorious just like the past anyway thanks again good to see you stay safe. For the u.s.
You need to go to Mirny in Russia, it has a GIANT mining crater in the middle of the city that is 1.25km wide and looks like an alien planet.
That would be legit
“Untill the next DAILY bald sometime NEXT week” 😂😂😂😂
“Bald: let’s make a new project called daily bald where I upload every day”
“Also Bald: cu next week for a new daily bald adventure”
Here in California, we have a different definition for “pot plants.”
Jo jo. För "rökelse" då.🤣
1:56 - what a beautiful sitting area. guess you can use it for a business meeting or some endless talks with your buddies, about the life in the provinces and so on..
i would stay on that room easy!! looks cozy...i like the floor!!
Not too shabby as these things go. The windows are sealed to keep the cold from seeping in through the wooden frames- remont upgradik.
This is exactly why Harald Baldr and Simon Wilson have issues letting Bald pick a hotel room! He continually looks for worst of hotel rooms and stays in them. BTW, never judge a hotel by the looks of the lobby!
I chose the best hotel on that entire trip, the Quality Inn Mazatlan. And they complained about it non stop and decided to move out thew next day to a fancy one ( i.e five times the price, on a windy rocky area with no beach in middle of nowhere ). But not me. I refused and back they came an hour later with their tails between their legs accepting that I am the greatest hotel finder. Old baldy keeps it real and refuses to stay in fancy pads just because he makes a few quid nowadays.
@@DailyBald Thanks for the reply! You certainly have the right to defend your choices, but it was darn funny! Very entertaining.
If you ever come to (East)Berlin, you should try the "Ostel". It's a hostel completely in GDR style with original furniture, and everything. Unfortunally that means everything is really old and not that shiny as the capital of the GDR used to be.
You know Bald means business when he slaps the soviet sink
Your celebrityness (is that a word ?) has gone to your head Mr Bald !!!!!!!!!
Your room looks positively lovely !!!!!! :))
It’s not that bad, you should try sluming it around SE Asia.
Had the same experience in Hotel Belgrade in Moscow, renovated rooms (just about ok) and the rest of the rooms offering the original (aged) facilities and decor of the late 70s.
