Good Morning All. Today is Husband Appreciation Day and, of course, Cheese Ball Day. All of you did a phenomenal job on this project. I did get a tear in my eye when I saw the mill felt. My late brother in NC and I used to go shopping in each other's garages. Brought back warm and fuzzy feelings. Did you have to white knuckle the wheel on crosswinds? The world needs more people like the four of you.
@bert brei Sweet. Does mom need special food? I am watching the news. Weather showed a swathe of 19 inches of snow. Are you in that path. We have a dusting but wicked winds. I am headed to the dump. A neighbor came over asking for help with part of an apple tree that came down. I quit working early on Saturday. The tenants were in a slug fest. One was moving out while the other tenant was strung out. I left when it sounded like bed frame was launched down the stsircase.
I picked up a Tera pump for my gas cans. (Battery operated fuel transfer pump for gas cans.) I got tired of overfilling the snowmobiles this winter with my gravity hose. It is definitely worth the money. Auto shut off when fueling up is sweet and no more spilled fuel. For filling up the boat at the dock will be great as well I'm assuming. Still ice on the lakes. The only problem I've had is it sometimes shuts off before the tank is full. I discovered it seems to be how the spot is connected to the item being fueled up. A placement of 90-180° from where it was seems to correct this. Great video as always! GNI!
weather here has been weird too so far this spring. nice to have the tractor there to help load it up. looks like a short bucket, not very tall but i'm sure it helps. My little JD 1026R wanna be tractor has a pretty good sized bucket on it. that mill felt was a pretty good score. I'm sure it will help out back a the farm. yesterdays video, "will it cut?" reminded me of episodes from Forged In Fire.....lol.
@@ChrisLascari cold front is walking across..... high here is 45° going down to 30° tomorrow morning..... perfect splitting weather..... outa the wind!
Chris you know you’re in a big tree when you have to get the big saw out, and you haul load after load of cut/ split firewood 🪵 job well done. Chris, Ken, Eric the three of you make a team. Keep on cutting
You know Chris, you are a true testament to the extreme durability of the Ultra splitter. You split more in a year than most owners would split in 5 yrs., or more. Went Turkey Scouting yesterday on Lake Ouachita. Didn't hear anything because the wind was blowing about 40 mph. We did catch several Bass, a Pike and a Walleye. Found a nice flat camping spot for our upcoming hunt, which is difficult due to the mountainois terrain around the Lake. It was a great day! Now to the Woodyard and a giant pile of rounds.
How does your brother like the TYM tractor? I love to see families working together and helping each other. It makes the work go faster and you get some quality time together. Everyone wins.
Nice season firewood Chris . Check it out boys all free bud light beer’s at the corner stone this morning. Tks to KID ROCK and Chris in the woodyard 😊!
Irony would be Chris always telling us how he hasn't broken a back window loading wood but breaks it with the wood splitter! Only kidding but that was what I thought of when you pushed it in the truck!
Fantastic vid! I watch all that you produce…liked and sub’d. Newbie question here. Why haul your splitter as opposed to towing? Prevent wear/tear? I just got my first splitter. Craftsman 27ton. Towed it home. A no-no? Thanks again. Safe splitting. TJ
Congratulations on the new splitter!👍 Most smaller splitters have a 30-50 mph rating for towing.(Depends on manufacturer and it will say in your owners manual) Chris has a several hour drive with interstate speeds so chooses to haul his and be able to travel faster. Plus less worry of his investment being damaged on a pot hole or a hot wheel bearing.
Chris, what is the mill felt for? Do you put that down on softer soils before you put down good gravel to prevent it from just working into the sifter soil?
Yes, it’s wet already. I stuck with my compact today in the field when mowing and needed to get rescued by neighbors Case tractor. Stay on stable ground. :)
Great job on getting the felt , nice work on the wood pile and the vid production. It looks like it's a good thing that you only went with two side boards tall on the trailer, Eric's bucket just squeaks by over the top now. C'mon Eric no ear muffs , Really? I know it's your personal choice not to wear them, For whatever reason. But this is the WWW . and you are getting a ration of opinion ,here and there. Isn't it just easier to wear'em ?
I saw tons to comment on. That Mill felt is hard to get here in Maine as most of the paper mills are shut down now. Are you putting in a road on Dad's property? When you loaded the felt it looks like fresh earthwork. Again with the playing together nice. GNI
Chris - Is some of that just split wood going to be split again, or are the bigger ones going to be used for boiler type heating ? Lot of it looked pretty large for your customers. Thnx…
I wanted and expected to do some re-splits but I just told the customers it was bigger than normal and asked if it was okay and they said it was for fire pits so bigger was fine! Win!
@@InTheWoodyard Win - Win for sure 🤛🏻… I’ve been doing lot of noodling for tree service wood that was from large trees felled at my home, and some of the rounds were too heavy to lift. I like straighter chunks, so when I rip wood in half I try to cut a knot in half and leave the straight grain for the splitter... lt makes nicer fire wood.

Hey Chris, im pretty sure that the reason for your saw cutting on a curve at 12:01 min mark is that the bar needs to be dressed or the bar rails grinded. The teeth being sharper on one side of the chain as opposed to the other side wont really curve the cut that much (in my experience). 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🪵🦫🪵🪓🇺🇸🪓🪵🪓🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫

That noodling that wood was real hard.
The bigger saws make it work well, easier than lifting big rounds.
