I never really considered making my own dehydrated meals for the backcountry. I’ve always relied on the name brands. This is a great idea!
As an outdoorsman who spent most of his life as a professional Chef, I love to see all the things you cook up! I love preserving and canning food and Dehydrating and Salt packing are next on my list!
THIS is the content I wanna see. Thanks Remi for being amazing!
Ive literally never thought of diy back country meals before until this video! Your a legend Remi!
I dehydrated my meals for the first time last year. Was certainly a game changer from both a quality and cost perspective. Will certainly have to try this one and add it to the backcountry meal rotation.
Really great recipe Remi! Just a heads up that dehydrating vegetables at the lowest temp possible keeps the most amount of nutrients in them. There's a trade off between time spent dehydrating and dehydrating temp. Just wanted to mention this as most people who go out of their way to dehydrate their own meals probably care about the nutrient density
I listened to your podcast you did with elk talk, and started listening to live wild weekly after that. I’m know listening to about 12 cutting the distance episodes a week. The elk calling strategies are my favorite, thank you for all the tips and tactics!
Always a great source of outdoor info! Keep up the unique recipes for all types of outdoorsman!
Going to have to give this a try. Always looking for ways to up my food game in the backcountry.
I’ve been interested in getting a dehydrator to make backcountry meals but haven’t got around to it yet. Seems like the best way to get quality nutrition in the woods! Awesome video.

If you want to save time and space. You can dehydrate any fresh herb in a microwave. Place it on a paper towel and put it on high for 30 second bursts.

Your energy consumption in the oven would have made that jerky very expensive. Hope you aren't doing it for savings.
