- just a quick video of how I repaired a fiat twinair gearbox as when the luk flywheel fails it kills the guid tube on the bell housing and on the 4x4 panda they cost £1500
alloy brazing rods are £20 on ebay and I used a blow torch (Oxyacetylene) to melt the rods * Note* you have to take the bell housing off and have to warm the bell housing for this to work otherwise the alloy won't stick i then used a die grinder with a shaving end on to mill the excess off
Hi is possible replace the bell housing without open the gearbox?
Hi, will the aluminum stops at the groove? Whats the length of the aluminum top to bottom? i have exact same problem. Your video is very good
I believe the clutch housing cuts about 5mm off the guid tube shaft if I remember correctly
Hi I know this is an old video now.. appreciate a quick reply as I’ve got a damaged shaft too and wondered about pressing a new part back on but have you just added weld and done it in layers then machined it to suit?
You can't press a new shaft on as it cast, so I built it up in layers and used a dye l grinder to shape it. You have to really warm the bell housing with a blow torch for the alloy to be able to stick
How old was the Panda 🐼 and how many miles had it covered?
Mine is a 2014 Panda 4x4 with 46k miles.
What was the symptoms something was wrong?
Hard to select gears when warm and the clutch may feel soggy
@@CARTALKUK Don't have any issue selecting gears on mine clutch feels fine as it should for a car with 45k miles.
Is this maybe caused by heat build up riding the clutch excessively?
Need more of the vw truck lol
Coming soon .... work comes first also have a heater video I need to upload
