Happy Easter! My daughter has MS and it's a struggle since she is inactive. She lost 50 lbs naturally. Stay safe!

Happy Easter to you Michelle. I am inactive so now I'm prone to gaining weight and constipation. I now eat 4 prunes a day and take a laxative. This really helps to keep everything behaving. I can still transfer and I try to keep that up. Give your daughter a huge hug for me and get her to give one to you from me.

Happy Easter, Denise. Wow, your Ozempic journey sounds traumatic. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I finally decided when I was 65 that I would have gastric bypass. It worked great for me ... I lost 95 pounds over the first year. I've kept most of it off over the last 11 years. I'm using the Healthi app (which is similar to WW) to try to shed the 20 pounds that have returned over the years. The app keeps me focused on eating loads of good fruits and veggies ... and leaving the cookies and chips alone! That is the trouble with gastric bypass ... I can't eat huge meals (which is good), but I can still eat junk food (which is bad). And eventually those junk food calories added up to a gain of 20 pounds. My reason for the gastric bypass was not only about losing weight it was also about dealing with my physical problems ... knee pain, shorteness of breath, severe sleep apnea (I used a CPAP) and high cholesterol, all of which when away when I lost the weight. I guess my skin wasn't overly stretched out because I didn't have any excess skin after I lost the weight.

Wow girl. What a journey you've been on. But a 20 pound weight gain isn't bad and you probably look amazing just as you are. I can't eat junk food anymore except for candy. Boo hoo.I can't seem to shake that addiction. Wishing you all the best of this glorious weekend and I didn't eat any chocolate. Yea!!!

Just stumbled upon this video, but I have to say that you've got a lovely disarming and personable voice which very much reminds me of the [late] actress Marion Lorne! Referencing what's wrong with women and their obsession with weight: the short answer is VALUE. Today more than ever, a woman's weight is by far the first and most obvious gage of her value because it can be determined with a LOOK, rather than a test of any abilities. If she fails that first physical impression, our culture suggests that she has failed at everything else, too. That's why so many women are so frantic about staying "within the lines" of what she's expected to look like, because they believe it keeps the door open to acceptance and/or other opportunities and promotions.

It’s sad Jude though. Years ago I couldn’t get womens clothes small enough to fit me. Size eight was as small as they went in the sixties unless you went to the states and could buy size six. Nowadays size eight is big. What’s with us. Thanks so much for watching

@@travelsinmychair4140 -You're Welcome. and let's not forget the abomination of size ZERO in women's clothing. What a sociopathic distortion to tell women and girls that they should aspire to be NOTHING, as though the pinnacle of their achievement should be to disappear, rather than be seen. It's a rant-worthy subject, to be sure!

I was on the lowest 0.5 I believe. I was too weak to even think about exercising and to top it off, the drugs I was on for cancer were playing with my whole system. Some people tolerate Ozempic and others do not. If the comments I keep on getting are any indication, most do not. I figure if you're on it get off it as soon as you can and that means when you're weight is were you need it to be (not want) or your blood sugar numbers are under control. Stay healthy and take car of you.

Thanks so much Ellen. Easter. I think of my mom a lot over this weekend. She had Allan (my husband) go out a week before Easter to buy tulips for all the widows in her beuilding, then she and Allan planned out our Easter dinner menu. Sounds weird but the 3 months we took care of mom was the best.

Hi! The only thing I’d argue is saying “we don’t have willpower.” (First, I’ve been overweight but never obese. Married to a man who was til we did go on carnivore 1.5 years ago. Not here to argue for that though.) please research how the food industry has created the obesity epidemic, developing foods designed to be overeaten. These weren’t around 50 years ago. And I’ve heard some scientists say it’s worse than that. There are podcasts about it. Newspaper articles, papers from universities, you name it.
So please don’t think that it’s some moral failure of anyone including yourself.

I think our eating habits and portion sizes have drastically changed over the years, and we, the consumers, are encouraged to buy into the food being marketed. It's hard to turn away from it when it's thrown in your face constantly. It's tough out there and we have to do what we can to stay healthy.

@@travelsinmychair4140 you are welcome - if you have not watched the Tucker Carlson podcast where he interviews a former Pharma Rep break down what Ozempic does, cannot suggest enough to take a listen. It's probably 3 months ago or so and on YT.
