I've just started researching a trip to Rome in 2024 having already booked flights. I have been watching several 'what to do in Rome" videos and can say that I find yours the most informative of any i've come across. Many show you the sites and waffle on about what you should see but never really go into how to navigate getting there, how to get entry tickets, little tips on how to best enjoy the sites. It's pretty easy to google the top 10 things to see but most of them are pretty light on when it comes to providing actual useful information, thank you for taking the time to add practical information making it easier to find and enjoy what Rome has to offer (and now Florence) Happy New Year

I like your plans for 2024, especially live streams. For those of us who have been to rome many times , maybe you could put together an occasional video of sites outside the historic center, perhaps like the interesting walk along the Via Nomentana to the Mausoleum of Constantine, a site that I've always wanted to visit. Or how to get to San Paulo fuori le Mura.. In any case, all your videos are highly instructive and enlightening.

Happy New Year and congratulations on the new site, Florencewise. Your videos and website have been great resources for our return trips to Rome and Florence early next year. Our first trip to Rome would have been easier if we better understood Termini Station. Fortunately, we had friends that provided some helpful tips on getting from Fiumicino to Termini to Florence.
Simple advice such as having a few Euros for the public restrooms, where to store luggage during a long layover, etc. How to read the boards to find your train would also be helpful.

Elyssa thank you so much for for your very informative and practical videos and information on Rosewise. I first found you in the early stages of planning our Rome trip for our anniversary in 2025. Although I've been to Rome several times before, I appreciate current information (and the updates you do whenever there are changes, they are so helpful). With the Papal Jubilee in 2025, we've decided to defer that trip to 2026 but visit other cities instead in 2025 (including Florence so I very much appreciate you starting Florencewise. I know it's further from Rome but I'd love a site/more information on Venice too if possible). I'd suggest a few more day trip views videos out of Rome (Orvieto, Tivoli etc) as I love the one on Ostia Antica.

I understand your thinking that 2025 might be a good time to avoid Rome but considering that the Jubilee lasts all year, I am not sure we will see it all that much busier in Rome than in non-Jubilee years. I think it will be very busy during Catholic holidays such as Easter, August 15, Christmas, etc. In any case, as you say, there are also so many other places to visit in Italy as well, and as you know, I love Florence.
We would also love to provide more content about Venice and will try to include that on this channel.
We have videos coming this year with some more day trips from Rome and also from Florence, so stay tuned.

That page refers to kids of varying ages. For teenage girls - it may depend on their ages. 13-year olds are different from 18-year olds.
Either way, try to find out what they want to do, and maybe keep visits and tours to a minimum length. Take breaks in between. Let them have some shopping time (I presume they will want this, but bottom line, find out what they want to do.)

Thanks for watching. I assume you are referring to the Colosseum. I'm not sure what you mean about doing "everything" and adding on 4$. There is a new Full Experience ticket that includes the attic. It costs 24€ and includes the upper tiers and also the Roman Forum / Palatine Hill AND the SUPER sites there. It does not include the Colosseum Underground or Arena floor. To visit those, you'd need a separate 24€ ticket.

Oh no! We are coming in May. So disappointed that we will be greeted with all of this construction. Will we still be able to visit Piazza Venezia? How much will the construction interfere with our enjoyment of Rome in May 2024? I mean I understand that it’s a city and work has to get done but the timing is unfortunate for us. Yes, I am afraid you will find a lot of construction around Rome when you visit this spring. At this time, there are over 300 open sites around the city. But some of them are quite small and out of the way of where many tourists go. You can absolutely visit Piazza Venezia but you won't be able to get those photos of it from the front without all the construction in your way. We're planning a trip in January 2025 and wondered if that's early enough to avoid the anticipated higher prices for the Jubilee. Is it only Rome that will have elevated prices during the Jubilee? I would love for my fiancee to see Rome but if it's going to crimp our style/budget, we may have to skip it. I guess what I'm asking is if you know how much of an increase should we anticipate? It's not necessarily the case that hotel prices will go up for all of 2025. Hotel prices have gone up since the return to travel post-pandemic, and that's mostly due to demand. But in general, in January it's low season, and I don't expect that to change even in the Jubilee year of 2025. More pilgrims are expected to visit Rome that year, but many of them stay in religious housing. In any case, I hope you don't put off visiting Rome next January. I think you will still find it wonderfully quiet.
On the other hand, it's hard to know how things will be affected by the Jubilee as we have not had one since the year 2,000 and tourism was very different then. I suggest you check hotels rates and airfare and see what works for you.

That's great! I hope you will have a wonderful visit. No, it's not possible to go to Saint Peter's Basilica from the Sistine Chapel with this tour. The basilica opens at 7 AM. I suggest you enjoy the Key Master Tour and then when you are ready, even after a short break, head over to Saint Peter's Square and visit the basilica. Enjoy!

Hy, Elyssa! I have a question: coopculture sais the attico tour is closed starting 8 of february, but tour company sites still sell it even after this date. I m confused, can you help me?
Yes I realize this is confusing.
The Colosseum attic visit I did recently (ua-cam.com/video/RVZLHVVeZ-Y/v-deo.html) is being suspended as of February 8 until further notice.
However, when they inaugurated the elevator, they offered a different, obscure visit that is only between 7:30 and 9AM. Also, you can't book it on CoopCulture as an individual. It's only for tour groups/guides. And it does not allow you access to the upper tiers.
It's just a ride up the elevator and at an early hour. Then you can explore the main levels of the Colosseum. So I believe what you are seeing offered is this early access tour.
I think what the Colosseum is closing are the upper tiers themselves, perhaps to work on them further. I do hope they will reopen this ticket sometime later this year.
But if you want to take that elevator ride, I do think it would be worth it both for the early hour and also for the interesting perspective from the lift.

I have to say trying to get tickets for the coliseum right now and it’s kind of a disaster. My wife and I were going to go through CO OP but they are no longer selling starting February which is when we are going. I know a bit of Italian so I tried using Italian internet to get through to the website but the US is blocked from the website. I tried using a VPN through Florence but the firewall detected me and blocked me even with an Italian VPN. It seems like they are trying to force you into either going third party or having you wait in line, both of which are less then appealing. I would be curious what you would advise in this case.
