      Question...When your purchasing a new UTV from a dealer is there some wiggle room in negotiating the price? Or is the MSRP the price and that’s it? I have never bought a brand new UTV and don’t know anybody who has but so far most the dealers I’ve spoken too keep quoting me the Polaris MSRP prices with a rebate but I’m curious if it’s like buying a new truck where there is some room for negotiating the price down? If not it’s no big deal. Thanks again for your time

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  4 роки тому +2

      @@TheOAKLANDAL The best time to buy is when the new models come out which is now. They give a lot of rebates because they want to make room for the 2020s. Some dealers will try and add on dealers fees to make more money so it's best to find a dealer who has no fees. Then you will save even more money. Check out the video I did on how I bought my UTV. It's on my channel under the videos tab.

      @@TheOAKLANDAL It also depends on who you purchase from. Some states do not register SXS's so buying out of state saves you money by not having to pay Sales Tax. Abernathy's in TN is one of the best at giving great pricing without the hassle of arguing back and forth. I am sure there are others that may be closer to you also!

    I have the same OE poly windshield and I love it. Never have to worry about breaking, no problem trailering (I do open the vents though) and with a little care it's easy to clean. Money no object, I would go glass and replace when it gets cracked or broken but money is an object.

    Just bought a leftover 2023 1000 premium for a stupid low price (under 15K OTD) and since I get farm discount no sales tax AND..Polaris now offering a THREE yr warranty on units purchased for farm. I WILL get a glass WS with the money I saved. Wife loves it I got the White Lightning Premium love the front blacked out look. I will never get this kind of deal on a side by like this again. Really Happy. Thanks!

    I have the tip up glass OEM. Love it and it’s versatility. You can lift it a few inches for air or all the way up. Plastic OEM roof also has come in handy with mounting things as it has multiple areas to install accessories. It also does well with low tree branches and won’t dent. I just installed the turn signal kit you recommended and it works great! Keep those videos coming!

      cdub901 Here in Arizona we don’t have much of a problem with fogging but I’m sure if the window was set in the vent mode it would help. I know its a pricey upgrade but i have never been sorry. I was a little worried about losing my poly windshield too. But, it has survived being trailered from KY to south AL for hog hunts twice now and multiple trips to various offroad parks around KY. That being said, I'd have opted for the glass windshield too for the cleaning/longevity aspects you mentioned.

    As far as enclosing your side windows, I'd recommend the stuff we use for boats, I can't recall what it's called? Maybe lexan? Very durable, you can add snaps to close or zipper access or little ties so when u want it completely open you just roll it up, and tie it! Betcha itd work great!

    Yeah, I agree. Love the video. If I have the 1000XP Crew and got the windshield for only $250 for someone divesting from Polaris dealership inventory, so big savings, soo went with the Poly. I DESPISE Polaris, as well as all utility vehicle companies basically as they leave off things, like doors and everything is an add on cost up, so even a $16k vehicle can cost you 20-30k and to me, that's ridiculous as it's a toy and luxury item, not necessity. I have means and even though disagree with the business model, I already purchased a 2019 1000XP Crew model and want to enclose it. This video comments about adding a heater, but already purchased HALF doors!! I think that was a mistake, but live and learn. I've taken my out now in temps 0-45deg and it's too cold, especially before adding the windshield, so I KNOW I want to enclose mine for the cooler months, soo purchased the FULL doors and rear. Doors are steel hand crank. Rear is Poly like the front. I know I will have issues making it street legal (if I go that way) with poly windshield, but as I said, discount, had to go with it at least for an interim instead of usual price of $500 for Poly and like $800 for glass! Keep the videos coming. Much appreciated.

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  4 роки тому

    I'd be very interested in seeing what you do with your door situation. I've been wanting to get at least some half doors for my grandparents Ranger, as I think they would enjoy that better. The unit can get pretty dusty and I think with at least half doors it would help the dust problem somewhat. But lately I've been thinking a full door kit would be better. But they're also awfully expensive at least for the Polaris brand doors. I don't really like the canvas soft door type but I suppose there could be some really good kits there, but I think I would rather have a hard door design. Either one with a roll-down window or one where you can remove the upper half.

      @klo910 4 роки тому

      UTV DIRT I just bought a northstar this past Friday. Trying to decide on a winch too many choices! Another question I have. The inside and outside mounting of the upper shocks have you ever tried both positions? Do you know what difference it would or is supposed to make?

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  4 роки тому +1

      Usually they come from the factory with the shocks mounted on the inside holes. You can change them to the outside holes. The difference would be the inner holes give you a cushy ride and if you want a stiffer suspension you move them to the outside holes. I installed a 2.5 inch lift kit so mine are mounted on the outer holes.

    • @Brett_S
      @Brett_S 4 роки тому

      @@klo910 One thing I would like to note is if you moved both front and rear shocks to the outside holes as well as turning the coil spring adjustments at their tightest you get youself a free lift. This raised my rear hitch 2 inches. I never measured the front before I did it but the difference was similar. There were logs on my trails I would regularly touch that my machine now clears. Down side is a slightly stiffer ride but in my opinion it was well worth it. This was on a 900xp but the results should be similar.

    @UTV DIRT very good video, I’m sorry you have some regrets Mr Mike, but you stuck to your budget, and Zeus is still a Beast!! I wouldn’t worry to much about your windshield, I’ve trailered my Parents golf cart with ah really cheap junk Polly windshield, and I never had any problems. Just don’t ever back Zeus on your trailer and pull it. I know you already know dat, I’m just looking out for you cause I care!! Also when I ordered my Northstar I got everything but the power window doors, if I decide to get the power window doors, I’ll make you a deal you can’t pass up, I’ll even pay your shipping from Louisiana. Not sure if they would work tho, I know a lot of hotshot drivers that might have to head dat way. And when I ordered my Northstar, when it came in, I ordered a 6000 lb heavy duty Polaris winch, with a remote control, it’s like ah key fob, no wires. My wife and I used the winch to pull huge very heavy logs, dat winch is a beast, I got it for $1000 installed by my Dealer. I do love your rock Guards tho, I gotta get them, and the lift and lights I want also lol. Seriously thinking 🤔 about some Portal lifts on 35’s , and before everyone warns me, lol I already know the problems with Portals. Anyway good video y’all!! Zeus is still beast mode bike!! Tried a couple different windshield types on a 2012 Ranger and my current RZR xpt4. My grandparents just last year bought a new 18 Ranger and before we even got a chance to ride it the poly windshield that Polaris first installed already had a scuff on it. We went back to them and upgraded to the glass windshield, I believe there was only or two or three hundred dollar difference. Well worth the money. After all my experiences and seeing what other people use and their issues I would never ever go back to a plastic or poly type windshield or back glass. Get either a real glass or Nothing at All.
