Giving your equipment a good cleaning is so satisfying. I had a 2005 Sportsman 700 that I cleaned and polished after every major outing. Just sold it yesterday in fact. People asked me all the time if it was new. When I told them it was 16 years old they were always in disbelief. I plowed my neighborhood for 12 years with that machine. Never had a breakdown of any kind. I took great care of it and it took care of my whole neighborhood. Very rewarding to see it last for all those years and it still looked better than when I trailered it at the dealership back in 2005.

Nice! I have a 2020 xp1000. We recently lost a member of our family that we rode with in the summer so I doubt it will ever be rode much again, But im looking forward to cleaning it up like new and using it for small chores around the house I guess. Expensive tool to set my trash cans out with haha.

Two suggestions, one, put water in bottle first, then add soap, otherwise it foams up and you don't get a full bottle. two, never put plastic protectant on tire treads, only sidewalls.

  • @rickcarter4417
    @rickcarter4417 4 роки тому +1

It seems to me the spray cleaner in the beginning is an unnecessary step. The foam does a great job covering every square inch. With the unit all foamed up, that’s when I’d use the brush, and skip the spray bottle cleaner.

@@UTVDIRT Guess if avoid the areas listed in the manual you'll be ok
The best and safest way to clean your POLARIS vehicle is with a garden hose
and a pail of mild soap and water.
      1. Use a professional-type washing cloth, cleaning the upper body first and the
      lower parts last.
      2. Rinse with clean water frequently.
      3. Dry surfaces with a chamois to prevent water spots.
      WASHING TIPS
      • Avoid the use of harsh cleaners, which can scratch the finish.
      • Do not use a power washer to clean the vehicle.
      • Do not use medium to heavy duty compounds on the finish.
      • Always use clean cloths and pads for cleaning and polishing. Old or reused
cloths and pads may contain dirt particles that will scratch the finish.
      • Grease all zerk fittings immediately after washing. Allow the engine to run for
a while to evaporate any water that may have entered the engine or exhaust
      system.
If a high pressure water system is used for cleaning (not recommended),
exercise extreme caution. The water may damage components and could
remove paint and labels. Avoid directing the water stream at the following items:
      • Wheel bearings
      • Radiator
      • Transmission seals
      • Brakes
      • Cab and body panels
      • Labels and decals
