Do not use this reverse light by just plugging it to the factory plug. The factory plug is there for a factory backup alarm. The backup alarm only draws 0.02 amps. There is power all the time to the positive side of the plug. The ECU prodives the ground when it is shited into reverse. You will risk frying your ECU by putting this load directly to that harness. I built a simple ground switching relay. Very easy setup. The positive from the factory harness goes to one side of the coil in the relay and the other side of the coil is from the factory harness ground wire. The load side of the relay goes to a frame ground and the switching side of the load goes to the light. This way the factory harness is only turning on and oif the relay coil. When the relau coil is activated, then the ground for the light comes from the frame ground connection. The factory plug positive that goes to the coil side can also go to the positive side of the light. So in the end when you sift to reverse the relay activates and provides a frame graound to the light. This protects your ECU and the light doesn't stay on dim all the time.
Great video! I have tried to other brands of reverse lights and they both stayed on, after turning off the Ranger... ugh. This reverse light your featuring looks like it just might be the one! I just ordered mine, Thanks!
I ordered toward the end of August a new 2022 Ranger 1000 Premium. I will most definitely change the headlights and install a reverse light and some tie down points to the bed. I cannot wait until it comes in. Its my first side by side.
You're gonna need to put a washer on the bottom side of those tie downs. I bought the same ones and the nut on the bottom will rip through the rubber and the tie down will end up coming loose.
That happened this weekend...I didn't think about the washer idea. Will definitely add that. I guess the ones I bought back in the day for my 2015 must have had a washer or something because they never came loose.
I bought the same tie downs 2 years ago. Also did the washer update. These are really not safe. Had a load roll 400 ft down the hill when they came lose. I’ve replaced them since then.
Great video! The link that you posted in the comments for the bed anchors is for polaris rzr and will not fit ranger. I didn't read the item description and ordered them. They fit polaris rzr and states in the description "Does not fit ranger". I reordered the same brand (grippro ranger anchors). They fit perfectly

You could have left the motor mount nut in place and just put bracket on the way you demonstrated it... and not had to use washers.... besides I'm sure the original nut has a stronger tensile strength then what you replaced it with......Just Saying

I don't have that plug at the rear for the reverse light on my 2019 ranger xp 1000 northstar 🤔
@@joecatalano82 really? You sure it's not tucked up in the frame?
Had mine for 3yrs and didn’t know about the reverse light. Have cube lights on a switch mounted on the corners of the roof on the back side.
Reverse light is my favorite upgrade

This is good info. I guess I've been lucky so far. What relay do I get?
I am looking to do the reverse light and tie downs on my 2019 Ranger 570. Thanks for the tips.
Really good accessories

You are gonna love it. The reverse light is a must. Enjoy your rig.
The new 2022 ranger comes with led headlights
@@allandebuff1416 I wonder if the housing is different/better for light refraction?
@@allandebuff1416 Are you sure the 2022 1000 Premium Rangers come with LED headlights? I thought they still had the halogen bulbs.
My bad, I didn't see that he was getting a premium. They look like they do have halogens. The other models have led.

the link for the headlights don’t work anymore, what number are the lights?
Great vid, is the reverse light in a “dim” mode while not in reverse or completely off?
Completely off.
Turns out it is in a dim mode. I checked it after you asked this question.
What kind of back windshield and Site u got it at
It's the polaris one. Glass version. I like it. I don't like the front windshield however.
