I love the 928 so much. My grandfather had one and hopefully I’ll get it one day. I want to get a second dead end and make it green to match that car. Maybe even make a new head as an homage to him. My grandad in transformer form.
the 928 is an important car for so many people. Jeremy clarkson was testing a 928 when he got a call his father was dying. He managed to make it to the hospital with a fresh cooked chicken that was still warm on arrival and he managed to say goodbye to his father, who passed 30 min later.
Those car modes, they've really been nailing it. I can't possibly foresee this set being anything but the G1 representation we've wanted from Hasbro, great job guys, keep it up. 🙃
Until you get to Breakdown, who's a straight up repaint of Wildrider instead of being retooled to look like a proper Lamborghini. (Granted, Combiner Wars had Wildrider as a repaint of Deadend...)
I like to turn mine 180 at the waist. I think the shins look way more interesting as car mode pieces than those flat slabs, and the heels work alright as feet. It also helps distinguish him from Dragstrip. Eventually I'll get around to filing down his knee joints so they can work like this. Then I'll either make a new crotch plate that can peg onto that stand port, or just paint the screws black.
I’ve got a set of acrylic paint pens and have just been doing what Hasbro should’ve done with the shins on these figures. It looks surprisingly adequate and is easy and fun, but yeah it’s still the flat slabs. So if I can ever get my hands on this guy I’ll have to look into this approach. Edit: also I’ve had amazing results with just painting visible screws and pin ends; highly recommend in general, even if not for this case.
"MAN! They FINALLY did it! Painted windows!" ...Yeah... You see KO deformation robots with painted windows all the time. Why is this such a rarity for HasTak?
I feel like the Stunticons in general could have benefited from following Wildrider's example (the exception being Breakdown's very obvious _issue_). You'd get a more cohesive look across the whole group in robot mode that'd double as a callback to the original Stunticon toys.
I honestly agree and have said everything that the lazy eyebrow said. I remember telling my friend that "The lower down on the figure you go, the worse it gets." I really love the car mode, and I also hate the high heels and chonky legs that majorly hinder movement.
I'm happy to see a reviewer who knows how to properly put this bot into car mode. Though the unintuitive car backhalf transformation is another reason the whole half below the waist needs an overhaul.
It's like they knew these would be better off in combined mode hence why they didn't care that much for robot mode. Dragstrip was their best foot forward to get people enticed, then Motormaster for their quality.
I don't like painted windows, but I didn't notice until you pointed them out about a third of the way through the review, so I must conclude that they look fine on this particular figure.

Dead end is my favorite stunticon, and I think the figure did him enough Justice (could be better but compared to the combiner wars one this is really good), I’d probably even buy it for the alt mode alone even if I didn’t like dead end
I didnt really think that TLE aka the lazy eyebrow is dead I just think his busy woth his job and his family and that's fine atleast he still makes reviews

Car mode, though, is definitely worth getting him for the arm, rather than modding a Dragstrip like some have recommended me to do, due to how seemingly scarce he seems to be.

Once I heard about the yellowing issues on Motormaster, saw Deadend’s feet, and then the reveal of Breakdown… I decided to take a pass on this set. It’s okay, but other bots interest me more.
