I'd say that the appearance of Talos in this is far more likely heavily inspired by the singularly iconic depiction of Talos from the 1963 Jason & the Argonauts movie. It's uncanny actually. Look it up. Any monster buff as I'm sure many of the Devs for Dragons Dogma surely must be will more than likely be fans of the work of Ray Harryhausen. Even the harpies of Dragons dogma look much like those of the stop motion versions from the same movie and the skeletons in Dragons dogma move and attack in a similar stuttery, uncanny manner to the stop motion skeletons of Ray Harryhausen. Maybe I'm wrong but there's so much similarity and cross over of core monster fandom there for it to be a coincidence as far as I can see.
Talos is coming directly from Greek mythology (even the name). Same as other monsters in the game. From Wikipedia: "Talos was a brass humanoid measuring 30m high, who was forged by the god Hephaestus and was given to Minos to protect the island of Crete against the invaders."
Yooooo i love this. Also having you give more dragons dogma lore would be amazing. Not that i haven't absorbed all the lore already but i think it would be dope if you did lore videos for the dragons dogma universe

I couldn't help but notice that one of the elf NPCs was named Taliesin. Then, there's the Pillars reference at the end. Taliesin Jaffe voice acted Eothas, the god you're chasing through POE. I wonder if he voice acted the elf here with his name, worked on the game in some capacity, or if it's just an homage to him.
I personally would love a DD1 lore video because, to my shame, I couldn't get into it when I first tried it years ago, and so I never finished it. I want to try again with this new entry, but I don't have time to go back to the first. Plus, your lore videos are always so well done.
I'd really like to know what they mean by 4x bigger, because the ways of calculating that mean a significant difference in area. If the x and y of the map were 1024x1024 in DD1 and now it's 4096x4096 that would be "4x bigger" but would technically be 16x the area. Or they could mean it's 4x the area, and only twice the x and y increase. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter how precise it is if the game world is big. I just would like to know how big :)

As the game release comes closer i realized something. Isn’t the ending going to be the same as dragons dogma? Yea there’s new stuff like the fake arisen but my gut feeling is telling me it’s just going to be 1:1 recreation of the original. Idk just wanted to share
Hmmm....it would be great if they did something different but honestly even if they recreated it I'd still like it(it was interesting to fight myself in Ng+)
I don't wanna argue, 'cause I've never finished the first game and only looked the lore up on wiki, but I think the end goal on Arisen's path wasn't defeating the dragon. It was defeating that godly figure that'd basically want the Arisen to prove himself worthy in combat. And correct me if I'm wrong here, but from what I recall, if the Arisen defeated the dragon, but wouldn't be able to defeat the "god", he himself would be transformed into an exact same dragon and burdened with the exact same task
Well the main story line technically ends after the dragon is defeated. The credits roll & everything. After that end game content starts and you get into the senechal stuff (unless you made a bargain with the dragon and in that case the game is over). The player is unaware of the Senechal stuff until end game, so their goal for main game is to defeat the Dragon. It is all they know.
I didn’t play the first one so if I choose fighter but I want to play spearhand later does the fighter stats carry over to spearhand ? Not sure how it’s going to work.
Unless im mistaken its the same dragon but obviously 11 years(?) of graphical upgrades makes a huge difference. Pretty sure it’s just an alternate dimension/timeline the 2nd game is taking place in, since it talks about this cycle always happening with Grigori tearing the heart from the chosen.
Nah, petrification is fatal. Doubt they changed it. You need a curative, but hopefully not instant lol in the trailer. I still remember your cockatrice fight Wolf… get ready for more.

Speak for yourself, that dragon is beautiful!
👀
As the game release comes closer i realized something. Isn’t the ending going to be the same as dragons dogma? Yea there’s new stuff like the fake arisen but my gut feeling is telling me it’s just going to be 1:1 recreation of the original. Idk just wanted to share
Hmmm....it would be great if they did something different but honestly even if they recreated it I'd still like it(it was interesting to fight myself in Ng+)
Can't believe I just noticed the dragon faintly has the same heart scar on its chest
Drakes have it as well
hi wolfheart do you get your pawns directly when you start the game or do you need to find them first?
You will get them very early on at a rift stone
Keep up all the amazing work Wolf! ❤
thanks Gwen!
Why cant we travel one week forward? =( Also that Wolfheart pawn is pretty handsome! hehe
Lol thanks!!!
The parry is so satisfying
Hmmm I committed on working on growing backlog in my game library, but seeing as I'm already failing miserably at that 😅... maybe check this out lol
That trailer was great. And it the video quality was good. the game looks great.
I didn’t play the first one so if I choose fighter but I want to play spearhand later does the fighter stats carry over to spearhand ? Not sure how it’s going to work.
Stats are tied to the class so you wont have the fighter stats while you're playing a different class.
No, but there are some passive skills you buy as a fighter that you can use on other vocations
Dude, "Talos" is clearly inspired by Talos; the giant bronze statue from Jason and the Argonauts, lol. What's Pillars of Eternity?
Pillars of Eternity has a giant Talos walking around crushing the world beneath its feet. It's a crpg.
I am pretty sure there are multiple dragons in the lore! Will have to go back and do some research. Could be Grigori I guess.
Yeah DD2 essentially takes place in a parallel world afaik. Vermund is the DD2 equivalent of Gransys from DD1
It looks like it's all combat? What are the character interactions, story and quests like? Or are there any at all?
Cheers.
It's a narrative driven game so yes plenty of quests and characters
@@WolfheartFPS Thats good to hear. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Looking forward to hearing more about it from you.
I was on the fence about this game at first but the more I see about it the more I feel like boarding the hype train
Does this game have good detailed Cities and Lore to explore? I am new to DD, I am going to get this game.
Please do a Dragons dogma lore vid! loved you D&D ones
The gameplay looks fun but I’m going to wait a couple of days to see how quests looks like without any cuts before I buy.
Nah, petrification is fatal. Doubt they changed it. You need a curative, but hopefully not instant lol in the trailer. I still remember your cockatrice fight Wolf… get ready for more.
do you think that will be like 80% combat 20% story or more even?? thanks
The first game was probably 70 combat 30 story, maybe even 60 / 40
The dragon reminds me of the one in the tv show merlin
I would like to see more of the lore
youre going to get dragons blight so fast
My Pawn in DD2 will be a human man called Balleus. Who's gonna be yours?
Mine will be a Beastren man called Orpheus.
Red 13 will finally be able to be a two legger just like he's always wanted.
How dare you add the "WOLVES TRAVEL IN PACKS" line in there🤣
:-D
I would definitely like some more lore please 👍
I would love some lore. I need something about the story to convince me to buy it, even though I've already made a character 😂
working on the script!
I made my cat my Pawn, we're prepared to explore Vermund and Battahl lol
2:50 We also know that pawns can become human through their connection to the arisen 🤓
cool!
The sorcerer robes: pimp
"I'm gon' surf that mofo" - Wolfheart
I found it funny they say "Two Nations" and then shows three.
I'm assuming Sacred Arbor isn't technically a nation.
holy fuck this game looks good... Im sold 100%
Please do a few lore videos! I’ve tried to watch others but I don’t feel they cover as much as you would.
I got you!
This is gonna be such a good game i hope
Why hope. We all know it. If it’s anything like DD1 it’s good, if it improves on certain aspects… easy GOTY
I'll watch this playthrough :)
The Dullahan is the Headless Horseman. They are one and the same. It's the same myth.
