- Botham Shem Jean’s mother, Allison Jean was the prosecution’s first witness in the punishment phase of the trial, which began a few hours after the verdict.
I remember the media was trying to make him into a bad person with "He HaD wEeD iN hIs ApArTmEnT" and online comments of people calling him a thug or drug dealer. My heart breaks for his mom. He didn't deserve this.
They tried, shame on those devils

His life is a living testimony, me and my husband were thinking about adopting foster kids I've been helping people all of my life we got site tripped and sidetracked but after hearing this beautiful family and this young man that lost his life prematurely I have tears in my eyes his life was greatly valued and it's a shame he's gone so soon but this testimony has helped me tremendously to stop procrastinating and make big moves to help people in this world especially children
No pain like a mother's pain when you loose a child because in our mind as a parent you feel you should go before our children not the other way around.....sigh 😔
So I have a little boy who just turned thirteen, I've always been a single mom and ALWAYS talk to him about life and it's issues as a BLACK man.
I'm sitting here looking at this mother and feeling her pain....and I've got tears streaming down my face.....but one thing I know is ,the day someone takes my son away from me ( God forbid) we will have 3 Funerals....I don't care how long it takes but I'm dying and killing for my black king.
You can see her compressing her pain and holding it together and being strong. I can imagine the pain being suppressed. It is not only a mental hurt but it actually physically hurts right in the middle of your chest or in your gut or abdomen.

This poor woman.
She had to get that phone call, the one EVERY parent dreads ever having to receive, that her son had been shot and killed.
But, to add insult to injury she had to find out her son was EXECUTED in his own home, and that the TRAINED professional Police Officer responsible not only never tried to save his life after realizing that she had acted impulsively, and UNREASONABLY, she has spent all her time since defending HER OWN behavior, her own reputation, her own job, and her own freedom, all while the results of her behavior has deprived a human being of life, and a mother of her son.
She didn't, "make a mistake," she made a series of unreasonable decisions, all of which added up to a man being EXECUTED in his own home for absolutely NO reason.
The man's race is only a factor because it adds to her unreasonable behavior, (she likely wouldn't have so easily pulled the trigger had he been a white man,) and because police officers shoot black people 10 times as quickly and easily as all other races COMBINED, while suffering little or no consequences for it.
A, "mistake," would have ended with her being embarrassed for a few seconds, and the victim only ever being in danger of maybe spitting some ice cream out his mouth and nose from laughing.
THAT is how, "mistakes," conclude.
She had every opportunity to realize it wasn't her own apartment she was walking into before hand, and because she was being UNREASONABLE, a man is dead.
It doesn't matter if the dead man is black, white, red, brown, or just spray tanned lol it's not about HER, it's about HIM.
She should also be held to a higher standard because she is a professional, TRAINED in making quick, REASONABLE life or death decisions while dealing with high-risk, high-stress situations.
But, this isn't about her, SHE is not the victim here, HE is.
And that's a fact so clear, so obvious that it punctuates the complete absurdity of her defense.
If you're convinced otherwise, you're either lying to be a troll, you know, "piss off the crying, activist liberal snowflake cucks," or you're just incapable of critical thought, but either way you should be kept from operating heavy machinery or being responsible for small children or even animals. 😂

TWSTF 8 well said. I’m still trying to figure out how messed up Amber’s mind was on her way to his apartment. Even if her actions were accidental, what happened afterwards from her calling 911 to the cops trying to make Botham look like a criminal was just unthinkable. It was very wrong and the force should be disciplined even just for those attempts.

This mother and father lost a son. And their lives will never be the same again. If this had been anyone, any color had murdered someone in their own home , they would get life or death, better yet had killed a police officer in their home , it would be lights out for us. You are so right, I think it should be a retrial, because it was policemen covering evidence to protect their own, text messages being deleted, this whole case was compromised from day one. The judge acted improper, need another judge on this case w/ special prosecutors. But, Amber definitely should have a retrial and moved to a different county w/ an impartial jury.

This is so terribly sad!! My heart aches for Mrs. Jean. She raised an outstanding human being, and he will NEVER be here again with her on this Earth. I pray she will soon be able to sleep at night and get the comfort that she needs from family, friends, and counseling. The sentence of ten years is such a light sentence. I hate this for his mom. God please heal her heart and soul. A grieving mother is one of the worst things to walk around with for the rest of your life.

From the moment I saw this story play out in the news I had a sense he was a good man. He lived his life as he was taught by his parents. His mother seems very proud of him but this is very very sad.

As a mother of young black men myself, there are few things more scary than people’s innate and conditioned fears of black men and how that could impact my boys. And, although i respect good police work, this is an example of how our cops often put us in MORE danger. There has to be a MUCH higher standard in police agencies.

2. She clocked out using the CORRECT time clock
3. She retrieved her CORRECT belongings from the CORRECT locker

5. She then drove .2 miles on the CORRECT side of the street using CORRECT hand & eye coordination & observing all CORRECT traffic laws

11. At this door is a RED DOORMAT that she has never seen before & located on the side of the door is where the apt number can be visualized( Sorry I forgot she went blind)
12. According to different reports, she either A. Bangs & yells on the WRONG door because her CORRECT keys won't open the WRONG door & Mr. Botham answers the door & is shot.
B. She Stated WRONG door was UNLOCKED & she enters the WRONG dark apt and SUDDENLY REGAINS HER SIGHT & sees an unknown male & fires her police-issued weapon at the suspect striking him in the chest
13. At this point, she turns on the light & realizes she is in the WRONG APT & shot the WRONG PERSON
14. She regains her vision & calls 911 (It has not been reported that she began CPR on Mr. Botham)
15. EMS & police arrive in 4 minutes and per a video taken by a tenant & posted on social media said officer can be seen pacing hallways & talking on the phone (family? lawyer?)
16. EMS is seen providing CPR to Mr. Botham who is subsequently taken to & pronounced dead at a local Dallas Hospital
17. Officer sleeps in a comfortable bed & remains free without charges for 3 days because this has been described to the public as " A VERY SPECIAL CASE" 18. Mr. Botham is placed on a cold slab in the coroner's morgue as his family flies thousands of miles from St. Lucia to identify their beloved son & brother's body
19. 72 hrs later officer is charged with manslaughter in the death of Mr. Botham & posts 10% of the $300K bail is back home with her family
20. Mr. Botham’s family prepares to bury him on Thursday.
He would have been 28 this past Sunday
September 29, 2019!!
For these acts and taking a life, she received a 10-year prison sentence.
With that being said take that BS lie that her fellow partners came up with and burn it like the RAT it smells like.

Am I missing something in your comment regarding single mothers? Mrs Jean clearly stated that she has been married for the past 30 years.
Her testimony is a Victim Impact Statement bearing witness to the life and times of her deceased son Botham and his impact on his family and the world.
Being a single mother has
no bearing in this most tragic matter. This is about an injustice which was committed upon Botham Jean and the outcome of a trial against his killer.
While I am not trying to minimize your point regarding single mothers, I am most concerned that this is about a young life that was tragically cut short by a person who cared ONLY about themself and not about the bigger picture which is "public safety."
Our mental resources at this point should be directed on a FAIR and JUST sentence for Amber Guyger who need to pay for LIFE she took.
I am originally from Trinbago which have a mix of both married and single mothers who do fantastic jobs of child rearing and I have live in the US for almost 40 years and know many many great married and single mothers.
The point is BOTHAM JEAN is the subject matter whom his mother is memorializing at this time.

It resonates with me because as a single mother and most in here in America woman work hard to provide to raise their children to be wonderful to society. My daughter is only 8 but I pray and work hard to raise her to be a wonderful person the way this mother describes her child(Botham). This is such a travesty to say the least. Amber should have rendered aid to Botham THE MINUTE she'd realized she committed a terrible act. The fact that she didn't render aid to him in and of itself makes me angry, and then to know that Mrs. Jean raised such a wonderful and amazing human being just makes my heart ache for her. This real life story is so so so very sad and heartbreaking.
