- Allison Jean, Botham Jean's mother, testified Tuesday following the murder conviction of Amber Guyger in Botham's death.
"I can not sleep, I can not eat, it's just been the most terrible time for me," Allison Jean told the courtroom Tuesday.

How this Mother kept it together throughout her testimony is beyond me. Looking at those pictures of her handsome son, always smiling with a smile that could light up a room. His accomplishments in his short life only proves that he would have had a grand future ahead of him. What a horrible heartbreaking loss. My heart and prayers go out to this beautiful family I am so very sorry for your loss.

My heart aches for this mother. I have two grown sons and can’t imagine what happened to her son happening to one of mine, but in these times we live in, we know that anything is possible. Mrs. Jean’s son was intelligent, accomplished, spiritual and kind, with so much to offer the world. I can’t understand how the young woman who took his life could have been so distracted that night as to not once identify herself to him as a police officer, nor recognize at some point that she was at the wrong apartment! I know that police officers are only people but they are also people who are trained to use deadly force so they can’t afford to be distracted the way most of us can. Had she not been distracted, and used the correct protocol that fateful night, I believe this tragedy never would have happened. Now, a wonderful young man’s life was snuffed out all too soon, and two families’ lives are forever altered. But no matter the outcome of the penalty phase of this trial, she will be able to go on with her life in some shape or fashion. Botham Jean can’t.
She should sue the police department because according to reports the officer was working lots of overtime hours
And sue the apartment building for the locks and not making the floors more discernible.
I mean at some point you can't baby proof the world. Like people shouldn't have guns if they can't do the simplest of tasks like reading a floor number.
I like how the lady tried to comfort his mother by saying "who is that handsome young man." The trauma of what she going thru has got to be devastating.

throughout this trial i find it difficult to watch and this is one of my most emotional moments i am reduced to tears watching this i am only a little way into watching this and to be honest i have to stop this video a number of times already to compose myself. i may have to end this video now. if it's like this for me i cannot imagine what it maybe like for MRS Jean and her daughter.

Am not a emotional person but sometimes I come across something that will break me. Hearing her talk was very hard the pain in her voice is so deep I couldn’t fight my tears. As a father am always worried about my son as a young black man in these crazy world we live in. I pray for safety for all not just my kid.
