Awesome video!! 180x2 makes it so much easier. Wixey wr300 type 2 is what I use. Klein 935 also is a 180x2
I do offer "diy" kits if you want to assemble and source your own angle finder.

Thanks Joe! Yeah, at this point I have used it and will definitely be returning the unit from Lowes and buying a 180⁰ capable unit. It was annoying having to be mindful of the four 90⁰ positions. Having said that though...even with the inferior gauge, it is soooooooo much nicer. I do not ever want to go back. Digital is wonderful, and probably more accurate too.

Looks like Johnson has a 0-180 version. 1886-0100
    Thanks for your service!

That looks just like the one Joe uses, but with an orange face. It's a Wixey unit. I'll likely buy one of those. But even with the quad 90⁰ layout...I'll not go back to a dial gauge setup unless I'm forced to. This digital setup is so much better to me.

Pretty cool modification, I'm not that deep in this yet. I'm still just weighing my options on what I like, how it feels and can I afford it.

G'day mate brought the thing gave on it, I have not found true 360 one yet . Iron horse made comets on one that it has to stay level, the saw that is to get true reading so I went back to a wheel cheer Kevin 👍

Yes, the saw has to stay level, or you will get different readings. The degree wheel is always relative to the saw, this digital angle finder is not. I found that my desk is not perfectly level and when I turn the saw around I get different readings.

I just got a similar, 4x90° sections model. The big question I now have is, how do you zero it to the TDC exactly? Or do you only take the total durations that the ports are open?

I pushed the piston down to BDC and zero'd the angle finder. Used a piston stop to dial it in. Very difficult to explain, but very easy to do. One of those things where you just gotta jump in the cold water, but as soon as you're in it you say, 'hey, it feels pretty good in here!'. I'll make a video of it in the future, but for now, I hope this one helps

@@novicelumberjack I learned how to do that with a degree wheel and piston stop, I'm having problems with the digital angle finder and zeroing it exactly to BDC (or TDC). I used the same procedure as you're explaining above - pushed the piston down to BDC and there zeroed the device. But when checking this alongside degree wheel, I always get a few degrees of mismatch. So I dial it in with a degree wheel, rotate the wheel to TDC, zero the device. Then I can use the device to get the numbers. BUT NOT moving the saw! The workbench is not level. I must say, I prefer the degree wheel.

@@novicelumberjack There is a lot that's going wrong.. :) jk It's my way of reading timings and I also found that my workbench is not levelled, its top is old with lots of notches and this digital device is picking that with every move of the saw. I'm used to turn the saw around, to pick it up, to tilt it... when looking at ports. The degree wheel always stays relative to the saw, at any position and I can move the saw to get the best view. With digital finder, the saw must be stationary on the workbench and I should be going around it to look at the ports to get the timings.

TDC is when the connecting rod is perfectly vertical and extended. You can tell this position easily where the crank has a slight movement but the piston doesn’t move. Find it then place you finder on. Don’t forget you calculator if it’s not a 180x2 😅
