Game changer for me was also to think about bringing knees to chest first. This might be because they push into you but I think you need them lighter and a bit on top of you before sweeping or pushing away for space.
@@ac4190 You need to have your hips at an angle next to your under hook to get better leverage for the sweep otherwise you’d be having to use more strength than necessary - jordan correct me if i’m wrong

I’m trying to improve my butterfly sweep. What do you mean “go at an angle”? Do you mean he should pull his opponent in at an angle towards his right?

You're totally right. It's also tougher to push off the mat with the other foot without the angle. Great suggestion for a part 2 🙏
