Can’t tell you how many times I’ve fished and been ultra focused on what I’m doing and then you put the rod down for literally 10 seconds to grab a sip of a drink or a bite of a sandwich and boom, fish on. It’s uncanny that that’s how things go…😂
I don't know if you are aware but here in the UK during the war (WW2) food was strictly rationed and we had to eat whatever we could get our teeth into. One of the foods that appeared from the USA was tinned Snook, apparently it was a very smelly grey coloured mash that came in a tin. It was not well received but beggars couldn't be choosers. Snook was not heard of before this as its not a native fish species but if you ever read literature about rationing during the war this canned snook always gets a mention.
I love days like this! It makes you feel like you are one with the ocean.... Did I miss hearing which inlet this is?? I don't recognise it. P.S. Very small nurse shark @ 23:25 and small Sea Turtle @ 23:50.
Hawaiin Tropic Dry Oil sunblock works on all biting insects in NJ. I always have it in my tackle kit. Not toxic like deet products and more SPF is always good
Great video as always! Enjoyed watching you out there doing your thing. You were smashin some good ones. Thanks as always for taking the time to share my friend. #FishAholicFishing rocks!!!
yay finally ive been waiting so much thanks rich !! i just love your kayak videos , you should make stickers to put one on mine. tight lines take care rich !!!
Hey Denzel, thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed and if you click this link you can pick up some decal stickers. fishaholic-fishing.creator-spring.com/
There is very little as fun as sight fishing Snook!! Even if they are smaller fish it's a riot to watch them smoke a bait!! Love the Key Lime color on the new rod. What blanks are they using for those sticks Rich????
Hey Liam, these are the Sims flats boots bit.ly/3NVDO9k you also should wear them with these socks to keep the sand out bit.ly/3JDIpug and these are my fishing pants bassproshops.vzck.net/a1EbPN thanks for watching and commenting! Tight Lines!!
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Yo buddy live on LI been a boat fishermen my whole life sold the boat couple years ago but getting the itch again. Boats are next level expensive now so thinking about doing the kayak thing could you recommend a good start fishing kayak. My area is great South Bay copiague to seaford
Just got to Florida, gonna go “deep sea fishing” tomorrow (more like 30-40 foot deep) do you have any suggestions on how to catch fish? I’d appreciate it!
Hey man, sorry for the late reply. One tip I could give you. Is the longer the leader the better. Don’t be afraid to use a 30ft fluorocarbon leader especially even if your bottom fishing. A lot of snapper can be extremely like shy
@@FishAholicTV sweet! And it’s all good! Thanks I’ll have to try it! Today we also scalped, then we went fishing and I used that Nomad Vibe that you always used and I got a couple!
Just a menhaden. Similar to northern bunker caught in the northeast but they have a different coloration and pattern down south here. I guess the proper term to call them might be southern bunker. Idk. They’re all in the menhaden family and fish do love them! I’m bummed I didn’t get anything nice on them. So I’ll have to try again. Tight lines!
how much of a workout is the pedal kayak? I've been saving for an old town with the minnkota because I am a mechanic with bad knees but am wondering if i should just suck it up and get a pedal hobie what do you think?
I would say get the Hobie. The peddles take up less space so you can bring them with you. Use the electric motor and if for some reason it dies or breaks then you have the peddles to get you home.
Sorry some people like the longer content and I know some people don’t. So I try my best to makes vids between 15 and 20 min. But if it’s an all day outing. Those videos become 30+ minutes.

😮 Wow
people used to call it soap fish because the skin has a nasty taste they
Hmm that’s really interesting. They must farm raise and harvest snook. Because there isn’t any commercial fishing for them here.
Love hoppin those rocks out there. The bait grind was real on Friday. Ended up getting lucky with a sabiki on the inside of the jetty.

Yeah it was a fun day. St Lucie inlet. To many nurse sharks here to count unfortunately.
@@FishAholicTV Do you get many hookups from the nurse sharks when your live bait dies and lies on the bottom?
Nice day of fishing, great job , thanks for taking us along.
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed!!!
Great videos man. Been following for a month now. Glad you caught your first rooster a few weeks ago. They really are a blast.

Yup they were hanging out there for a few hours on the incoming tide.

Awesome fishing adventure buddy. I missed my hobie outback I replaced with a PA14 but planning to downgrade again.
Ahhh I love the outback. I would love the bigger boat too but then it wouldn’t be as functional as a kayak to me.
Here early out in Arizona. Love the channel!
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and hopefully it’s not to hot out there!

I second that. He always either has low expectations or gives up on the fly rod too soon. Love his videos regardless.
I’ll get out again this week and just strictly throw the fly.

If you don't live to far from it. I highly recommend the Sebastian inlet. Best snook fishing in Florida. But that's my opinion. Good luck

It’s Stuart inlet. But Sebastian probably would be much easier to access and fish.
