When I was 15 in 1985 I went shopping on my own and bought a great orange blouson/ ski jacket. It looked amazing (in 1985 😂). My mum took one look and told me to take it back. My dad saw it and loved it. Guess who won. It was probably the best item of clothing I ever bought and I definitely stood out in it.
I’m 47 now, and have been dressing in a global wardrobe for 10 years already. Don’t be afraid to stand out, we all get noticed, especially by the ladies.
My blue jacket is from Chile, the stylish white shirt is from Turkey.
It has benefits, from being noticed to getting doors opened for me, by the ladies!!!
Some question my style, others adore it, either way it worked. It gets attention and conversations happen.
I’m usually the one to compliments other men on their great style. Even I see it.

I'm a European blonde guy and the last time I went out before covid, I wore calf skin brown oxford boots, grey wool pants, a navy vest, pink shirt and tie with pink, red and black. Topped it off with a grey long coat and some accessories. I looked and felt confident. First time I had dressed up like this and others noticed.

Practice wearing it around your house look at yourself in a mirror so now when you leave your house it won't be the first time you've worn it
Oh a camel topcoat instead of black yes...esp with brown to lighter hair. But on snyone says "golden man" yeees. I am a golden blonde woman and camel echoes my hair, I wear that color often...my hair, skin color light golden peachy color and eye color tourquoise to deep blue green ring around iris...these are great colors for me drawing attention to these features and the same color strategy works on men too.
My husband looks terrific in rosy shirts...HIS skin undertone and he has the confidence to wear them...makes him look HIS best. I buy those shirts for him he wont get NEAR a mens store. Light skin comes in 4 tones warm a yellowish golden underdtone like mine, a cool undertone pinkish under tone like my husbands, or a very neutral almost blue undertone, an olive undertone. You can look up these u undertones on Pinterest ...note re a video...do a skin tone video for MEN! Easy to develop.Im a hobby artist so really notice color. Sybil Francis

I've always been fairly conservative in my approach to style and color. In the last few years, however, I have purchased a pink button down (Stafford) dress shirt that looks really sharp with jeans and a sweater. A coral colored quarter zip sweater, (Peter Millar) and some shoes that are both dressy, and casual at the same time. (Rockport / Cole Haan)
Even though I'm almost 65, I feel very confident when going out. Classy, but with a little youth and fun thrown in. Really like your videos. Mark

John bro, you did Lethado like 18 months ago.. sole is stiff, laces have "gold" metal rivets at the ends making them look.. indian. But they are flexible with customer service, had them send 3 sets of pics until I confirmed the color pattern on a particular pair. Good company.

Good video. One way for men to “dip their toe” into statement pieces is to start with a NATO strap for their watch. I finally did it and I have really gotten into all the different stripes and colors.

Yes, love the idea of starting with the statement piece and working backwards from there. I find myself doing that, especially if there is something in my wardrobe that I really wanna wear on a particular day, start with that and go from there. Love it.

My friend who is into fashion taught me about how to wear statement pieces.
I went to a club this weekend. I was wearing a Hermes metal bracelet as the statement piece with my sleeves rolled up. A woman approached me and introduced herself as I was tying my shoes on the couch.
Statement pieces makes your outfit stand out. It could be a watch, a chain, a bracelet, shoes, a jacket, and even frames if you wear glasses.

These are always so helpful. I love 40 over fashion. The issue I have with this session however, is that there weren’t any helpful examples given as you usually do, except for shoes. I’ll certainly check out the new shoe ad, those look great. But what about examples of jackets? Shirts?

I’d say it’s about average.
I know I’ve heard over and over that we should avoid clothing that’s bold or has branding on it. Well, my statement piece is a pair of Gucci loafers, brown and tan with the Gucci pattern. Took me a while to save to get them 😂. Now that its warm again they will be seen in public.

I struggle a lot with my confidence when I'm getting dressed, since I'm a little overweight and I have a tendency to stay with dark colours. Nonetheless, seeing these combos lets me know what to do when I decide to step out of my comfort zone.

From smart casual outfit to more dapper.. Something district but stylish.. So.. Any suggestions? Especially for summer where there is no jacket of coat to have them all tacked

I find a tie is my statement piece. Has been for decades. I have a collection of them from 30's designer pieces to 2010.. No need for any more after that..
