I’m more than happy to answer questions you guys have but sometimes the questions you guys are asking have been already answered by me from another comment so please read 🙃it has also been a lot of comments so my reply time has been a bit slower:( on another note once again I’m not trying to be mean but if you’re questioning if the job is for you it’s probably not. If you can only work once out of the week this isn’t the job for you because that doesn’t help. I ask very kindly if you know that you cannot give your full time to this job not to apply as it can take the space of someone who can give there full time… that’s all ❤️❤️

Hey hey, so the warehouse you have your orientation at you should ask them if they have any open positions. If you want to be a driver I think they are always hiring but again I would ask either your driver or the wearhouse :) or just ups careers

I do this job every year .the give you a dollar raise everytime you apply and they hire anybody .great job .and its called seasonal helper FYI.last year they paid me 18 an hr but depending on the state they start you out with 16 or 17 state depends .
At the orientation point on the first day is it the same place where u start your regular work days? Because I applied to work in one location but the orientation is in another place far away from my home. 🥴
@@itsaiiko It depends, every day it's different for example in the morning the manager calls me and ask me if I"m avaible to work in that day, then the driver call me again and send me the location. If you have not a car, you have to tell it and they find you a near location.
Yes that’s correct you choose the days and times you want to work! If your driver has things on Saturday you’re able to help on that day as well but it’s normally a pretty light day on Saturdays!:)

I’d be a pvd because they get paid more and you’re able to do your own lil thing but then only down part to that is you have to use your own car which then adds miles to it. :(

Just wear casual clothes. I think it tells you to dress like youre working but at my location the “orientation” is just paper work 😂 it’s the next day after you do your training in which you need to come like you’re going to work

Yes you can sweats I actually would prefer you too depending on wear you live because it gets cold! I wore layers on some days always something I could take off if I got too hot though. Boot color doesn’t matter and neither does the top they give you a vest to wear! You do NEED boots!!! I would say just wear things that is appropriate for work but also something that you’re comfortable wearing because you’re going to be essentially exercising your whole shift:) hope that helps!
Girl, I haven't seen all the video, but thank you for the information about uh..some people meet at the hub, some people meet out and about. I've been reading/watching mixed stuff where people say they meet at hub, and others say they meet at a specified location, and I was confused to which one it actually was. I can't recall if you stated you get a choice though? I'd much rather meet a driver at a hub. Also, it might be better working somewhere where it's warm, or hot..but then you have to deal with the hot weather, which isn't any better than the cold TBH. And I can only imagine having dark skin and working in the heat :( (I've heard it really sucks..). But in winter in places like California, or Florida, places along the coast. You might not get snow, but there is still rain - and man, I tell you what, that ocean air is COLD. You may as well have snow. I found that out the hard way. I used to laugh at my friends living in states along the coast when they'd say 40 degrees is cold in winter. Considering I'm from a state where 40 in winter is like a heat wave. I mean, 40 in winter in a state bordering water isn't always bad, it's really not as cold, but it can still be biting when it comes to rain, and again, the ocean air if the wind is blowing at all. Your vid is almost a year old, so I don't know how much might have changed in that time from last season to this, but I am contemplating applying for this position, so the information you provided was helpful! ONE QUESTION. I see you are basically wearing street/casual clothes and a vest. But I watched/read other places that they give you a uniform? I figure it's seasonal, street clothes are okay as long as it's nothing offensive or such. And you are wearing jeans and not slacks (which I prefer jeans). Again, perhaps it differs by location, but what is the dress code typically for a seasonal Driver Helper? I'm guessing you are/were seasonal.
Okay so there is no uniform for the seasonal helpers but the drivers do have to wear a uniform that they pay for but as for being a helper we just wear the vest. I’ve also seen people comment that in warmer areas they get paid less then what we do in the dmv but overall it’s not that bad I actually enjoy it. With the driver meet up I’ve seen it both ways. Me and my driver just discussed that it would be easier for us to meet somewhere in between my house and on the way to his route. Most people who don’t have cars meet at the wear house but the managers don’t really like that because they have driver meeting in the morning so you’re just waiting around in the way and most drivers also have “next day air packages” they have to get off the truck by a certain time. Hope that helps :)
It varies but please know that it’s ALOT!! In the morning we cannot walk through the truck we have to go around because packages are stacked from the floor to the roof. My driver did it 50/50 if it was on my side I got it if it was on his side he got it. We also had apartments and would split that but you’re there to help the driver not do all the work.
DONT RUN! Instead either just stop or walk back slowly surprisingly I only had 1 unleashed dog experience my whole season and my driver was there to kind of help out and distract the dog in a way until the owner came out and held him… pro tip tho most people know when they are expecting packages so they bring them in the house so you don’t even have to worry about that.

You don’t need to shell out the dollars for timbs BUT it’s a nice brand. As long as it’s nonslip, made out of leather with walls that cover your ankle or so. Got damn I know you been hit in the ankle with something sheesh that shit hurts. And comfortable, make sure you can work in them!

They send you an offer at the end of the season but it’s a wearhouse position and the pay is like 13 an hour plus it’s one of those overnight/early morning jobs
when you're working 40+ hours a week and your pay is17 an hour my gross income was 1000 every week when taxes came out it would end up being 800-900 depending on how many hours I worked.
You can work as short or long that you want it really just depends on where you’re working at I’ve worked 3 hour shifts before and sometimes 9… I along with most people get paid on Thursdays or Fridays it depends on your bank :)

No you have to be 18 and out of high school 1:30 is way to late no driver will want to pick you up at school you woukd have to meet them somewhere so you wouldn’t even be ready till like 2 that’s just way to late
Any boots but I suggest something with support. I wouldn’t get uggs they will get destroyed and won’t have any support but worker boots or even snow boots depending on where you live

I chose my first day to be October 31st. I got an email saying I have orientation tomorrow October 24th. Do I need to bring anything other than my drivers license? What should I know? By the way no one from HR ever called me.
@@adriannunez8098 I’ve only worked a few hours so far on the job. Not as busy yet. Orientation was like 10 minutes. Just bring two forms of ID. Make sure it’s two forms lol.
@@adriannunez8098 yea a coordinator will text you and ask if you can work that day. There is no set schedule. It’s flexible just whenever you can work.
She said at the beginning that if you can’t do the job as commit to it then don’t do it. I mean if your going to take a week off you think there going to want you after that’s in any job as well. Plus this a season job taking a whole week off is alot sense you only work like 2 months
In a week probably about 30+ it really just depends on how much you want to work and how much money you want to work or how much your driver has. If it’s not a lot you’ll work less hours and get off early

I start ups the 11th , I didn’t have to have a interview they just sent me a letter of acceptance & told me hr will contact me for further instructions did they contact you or you just went on your start day ?

It really just depends on the week and how many hours you want to work or the work load that there is! After the background they set up an orientation date you go in do all your new employee stuff like taxes and training and then a few weeks go by and then they will reach back out to you to assign you with someone and you go from there.

When they text you in the morning for a meet up with your driver, if you say No does that mean you are unavailable for the day and don’t have to go

No as a driver helper your driver is responsible for your clock in information all we got was a flashlight and a vest 😂

Ups policy says boots for safety reasons in case you drop a box on your foot so I would say no but if I’ve seen people get away without having them

They send you an offer at the end of the season but it’s a wearhouse position and the pay is like 13 an hour plus it’s one of those overnight/early morning jobs

You can work as short or long that you want it really just depends on where you’re working at I’ve worked 3 hour shifts before and sometimes 9… I along with most people get paid on Thursdays or Fridays it depends on your bank :)

Any boots but I suggest something with support. I wouldn’t get uggs they will get destroyed and won’t have any support but worker boots or even snow boots depending on where you live

You don’t get a scanner you just take packages. You’re not the driver you’re the driver helper. And yes you can wear a hat.

In a week probably about 30+ it really just depends on how much you want to work and how much money you want to work or how much your driver has. If it’s not a lot you’ll work less hours and get off early

It depends on the work load so if there are less packages and package flow they won’t need you as much!

@@SaucyKay what was you pay as a driver package delivery position seasonal? Also what was your process after background came back, onboarding process I suppose.
It really just depends on the week and how many hours you want to work or the work load that there is! After the background they set up an orientation date you go in do all your new employee stuff like taxes and training and then a few weeks go by and then they will reach back out to you to assign you with someone and you go from there.
