m pretty stoked about the video style. Fun to watch you walk around and shoot.
Cheers, might do another one soon!
@@DesignedbyKirk Please do.
ahh man can't wait!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for this!
You’re welcome!
hey bro, great POV photography! can I ask you what camera you used to make this video, the one on your chest??? Thanks!
Cheers! I used the GoPro Hero 12
very nice vidéo :D thank you for Sharing X100VI ! preordered yesterday, can't wait to get mine in hands
Nice! You’re very welcome, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
been going down the 2am rabbit hole of watching reviews about cameras specifically for quick, inconspicuous night photography. I live in Melbourne and this is the exact sort of thing I'd be wanting to do. I wasn't expecting a local review let alone the exact kind of photography I've been hoping to do in the same locations! such a neat surprise haha. Loved this video! If you're taking requests I'd love to see one where you use a more cyberpunk filter recipe and get some nice lights and neon signs on a rainy night :)
bit of a long shot, but would you have any advice for securing one of these cameras for a fellow Melbournian, please? I'm not sure which shop would be the most reliable for preordering
Thanks!
Definitely will give that go a some day mate, it's a great city for photography. In terms of securing one. I'm biased here as they supported the video, however, check out the Camera Pro link in my description (affiliate activated I will disclose).
They're the ones that organised this with me, they're based in Sydney but ship to Melbourne, should be able to get you a unit hopefully! Otherwise, you may have to shop around although I can't speak to the nature of experience from other retailers.
I didn't realize how important the IBIS is for this camera. I was very impressed at your results at ISO1000 and 60 shutter speed! 👍
It does make a huge difference!
No needs to have a ibis for shooting at 1/60 or 1/30s.. Ibis is an marketing USP for vidéomaker but don't for photographer. Use a tripod for nightshoot if you want a long exposure
I don't know how you usually fare but it looks to me like you had a hell of a night shooting ! A lot of really cool shots.
Did you find that the IBIS really helped you getting shots you would have struggled to get with the X100V in similar lighting conditions ?
Thanks! It was a good night, albeit rushed! IBIS is extremley helpful, I found that 90% of my images here that I shot that night were usable, whereas my hitrate on the X100V would be
@@DesignedbyKirkAs I expected (and feared), too bad for my bank account !
Hey mate, can please share the canera settings - other than the film simulation used - thanks🙏
Hello! Which camera settings in particular are you after? I shoot these shots in aperture priority and auto iso and shutter. Ensuring shutter never goes below 1/60, and ISO always never exceeds 3200
Which apeture would you use at night with area focus? Great video :)
Fully wide open at f/2.0!
How low of a shutter speed could you get to before motion blur?
1/60 I’d say, 1/50 would be pushing it
That's what I get with the X100V without IBIS!?@@DesignedbyKirk
Camera shake or subject motion blur?
How was autofocus? Was it reliable and fast? How do you think it'll do when tying to focus and maintain focus on moving children in low light and good light?
It's exceptional, a little too robotic though, I prefer using area focus mode to be completely honest, but the facial and eye tracking now is superb
Thank you for the information!
What lense filter do you use, which one specifically? Promist?
No filter in this shoot!
can you share your color recipe and setting to shoot at night? Thank you
Recipe is in link in the description
This is what I call: A Meat & Potatoes report!!
KUDOS2U!!
You're very welcome!
You found the same guy(blue denim and black tshirt) twice!😅
Nice spotting! I only just noticed too!
Does it still take 2 secs when clarity is on? Like previous cameras?
Not two seconds but slower than without it on
@@DesignedbyKirkAlright, so it's slower then?
could you let me know what product you using for bodycam?
Go Pro 12
What kind of wrist strap you got there?
Peak design cuff!
thanks
What video camera did you use for this video?
Go Pro Hero 12
in which city did you do the walk??
Melbourne, Australia :)
Isn't it obvious? Everything is in English, yet everyone is Chinese. No, it's not Hong Kong.
Is the inbuilt Flash useful?
If you're going for a specific look then yes! But it is forward firing, no options to tilt or bounce
Do you use the shutter AF? I need tips for autofocus
I use the area mode autofocus and turn off subject detect, smallest window possible, point, focus, then move away, shoot
Which colour?
Black!
@@DesignedbyKirk me too
nice! @@gurugamer8632
@@DesignedbyKirk You like Leica M11 + 35mm APO?
Why am I not surprised with night shots on this camera?? Only day shots
Not sure what you mean, but I do have day shots on other videos
Did you use any filter?
The camera has built in filters
No filter was used in these shots. Although I typically use a 1/4 promist filter
Why ?
How?
X100 was always made in Japan - VI is from China.... just saying
Fascinating, maybe that's to keep up with the demand
to keep the cost down@@DesignedbyKirk
@@user-wz8gm9hw1bno, it’s the supply demand thing
not really better than image taken by phone though? kind of hoping for compact travel camera supplementing smartphone bad low light capability.
If you don't plan on editing your photos or don't need Fuji's colors, just shoot with your phone 🤷♂️
Details in noise are very evident to be fair. I can imagine if you shot in raw and applied edits the differences are far more noticeable. I am baking a JPEG look in here remember and I’ve found the Depth of field to be considerate vs a smartphone
Depends what you mean by better, but depending on what phone you have you might not necessarily see a difference, or at least not a huge one. If you enjoy shooting on your phone and it gives you the results you like that's perfectly fine too !
사진은 감성입니다. 찍는 재미로 카메라를 쓰죠.
A mistake of buying camera is to compare that to your phone… it’s all about the experience of taking photos
I thought it was NYC at first. How did I guess it was Australia? Everything is in English, yet everyone is Chinese. They've been colonized! 🙄
Very multi-cultural here down under
@@DesignedbyKirk Yes, yes. The West must "diversify" but, according to Netanyahu, his country must "preserver its demographic integrity." Of course. Our homelands must become dumping grounds so his can stay "pure." Good deal! 🙄
