"Will it Kill?" is a show about funny fighting game clips, throwing rocks, betting fake points, snapping, violence and the culinary arts. We'll show a fighting game clip and pause it on one of the hits of a combo. You have to vote on whether the combo will kill or not. There are no drops, Time-outs don't count, and we try to get as close to optimal as possible.

In Ultra Fight Da Kyanta 2, there exists a mechanic called flash bonus. Every 60 frames when nobody is hit or blocks, the EX icon on the top of the screen will flash for 7 frames. If you land a hit during those 7 frames, you build like, a full bar of super meter. This character exploited the fact she locks you in place for a long ass time to hit flash bonus multiple times.
This game's so nuts that when a single second goes by, without violence, it goes "I'll give $100 to whoever hits someone."

Kinnikuman Muscle Fight is full of characters with comeback mechanics, refilling your healthbar and giving you full immunity for a couple seconds and giving access to new and more powerful specials if some conditions are cleared. In this case, Super Phoenix Muscle Revenger super while doing his comeback KO's no matter your healthbar. Now that Soldier's health was down and he was floored he tried to activate his own comeback mechanic (that pillar of fire). However, Muscle Revenger had a higher priority, thus Soldier ended up instantly dying anyway. Or at least that's what I think it happened, the game's really finicky with comebacks, how they trigger, and which supers can prevent them from even happening or kill you regardless of activation.

chaos code is so good, unfortunately the dev had a really bad financial crisis and it seems unlikely that we'll get another one.
I watched the verix vs bean game and I saw the clip live and I remember telling myself "this is going to be on will it kill, I should remember it" and then I got it wrong.
I have a pretty reliable betting strategy of always going "no" on Blazblue. The damage is high, but still constrained enough that it ends with a lot of people living. I'm glad that this time, before doing that, I noticed the blast stocks and realized that this was Continuum Shift.
If the combo is on Ragna it always kills tho. Ah also if it's by Hakumen or Susan

Fantastic episode. I was participating live, and after the show wrapped I pulled up the vod to re-watch some parts immediately. I also finally cracked six-digit channel points with a 15-5 record - could have been 17-3 if I didn't miss two votes - so it was a great time.
That 2D Ultimate Muscle fighter is actually an old fangame, and it's stuffed to literal external file-bursting with hidden interactions. I don't know it well enough to know if this was one or just something Super Phoenix (yes, really) can do, but I looked up what the win poses meant. That soldier guy was in the middle of revealing his spoiler-y true identity when he was *literally* erased from history. Kinnikuman is insane.
You also could have gone 20-0 if you didn't miss three others
@@azazeltf2 I meant "miss two votes" as in "didn't bet in time", but a perfect 20 is something to strive for. You can get pretty good at reading probability through the betting panel, it hard-carried me through this episode.

Kinnikuman Muscle Fight is incredible. It's kind of a customizable fighting game in where you download characters separately (kind of like MUGEN but a bit more rudimentary), from the year 2000, that still gets new content today. And all to be as accurate to the source material as possible, with some gags added to the mix. For every regular move there's probably a secret interaction with very specific conditions and characters, just to recreate scenes from the manga or the old anime, cutscenes and all. They even started adapting new parts of the manga (2011 onwards) and added some sentence mixing to get new voice clips for those scenes.
By the way there's a new anime coming up, and a teaser came out today.

Also as niche as it might seem internationally, Kinnikuman is a Japanese cultural icon which is referenced even today, especially if you've played fighting games, and even more with grapplers. For example, Super Phoenix's super is what inspires Maxima's grapple super in KOF ('99-2002UM), even more notorious when the super is named 'Muscle Revenger' and Maxima's is 'Maxima Revenger'.
Clark has many Kinnikuman references too from what ive heard. The amount depends on the game. The creators of classic fgs, from early to mid 90s, were heavily influenced by the 80s and early 90s anime-manga culture... which is what was booming at the time naturally.
So, the fire pillar -- Soldier Vs Super Phoenix is a story fight, so with certain moves it'll trigger parts of the fight that happened. The fire pillar is "Burning Inner Strength" that Soldier (as well as Kinnikuman himself) can access for a second wind. Phoenix did an evil version at the start of the clip -- its unfortunate that Soldier was utterly dead here, ir it might have hit the final story beat move (Soldier still dies lol)

I'm kind of glad to see both "Axel City 2" and "Dynamite Bomb" managed to get in.
One of the arcade channels I follow started uploading matches for both of these recently, since both just got ported to the exA arcade board, so I've been watching a bunch of match footage for them. Enough that I went a little overboard in submitting clips from them but, hey, if it worked, it worked. Didn't know anything about these prior but now I'm definitely somewhat of a fan.
As the show can attest, there are so many interesting fighting games out there in some dank, dark corner of the community that you just never hear about. But it's always fun to discover a couple and get into them, especially when they get a second lease on life out of nowhere with a random port. Well, get into them as much as reasonably possible anyway. Them being JP arcade exclusive kind of is a roadblock.
I know the Exa-Arcadia also ships the software kits for Axel City 2 and the new Dynamite Bomber arcade port overseas as well, thought I don't know many ar ade owners eager enough to buy a kit for either of them
When someone whiffs DP I just sing internally: "ALL I NEED IS PROOF THAT I LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED"

Oh yeah, so, the final clip, Kinnikuman Muscle Fight? It's actually not an official game, it's entirely a passion fan project that's been going for decades now, made in Fighter Maker 95 (ancient software). The spritework of the characters and stages would make you think it's an actual official product, but it's all entirely fan produced, updated to this day. It's great to see it in the show. As always, lovely collection of heinous clips, Sajam, I love your stuff.

BTW that is how ricochets work in real life. Bullets will sort of weirdly hug the surface they ping off. This is why if someone sticks their head around a corner you can shoot anywhere along the wall up to their head and it will skip along and kill them. Crazy shit.
