I have shoulders pain while doing almost every exercise, i feel like my sets and reps are limited bcs of my shoulders not by targeted group of muscles (i even started from the begining, with almost no weight so i could work on proper form and still i feel pain).. any sugestions?
Hey Scott doing legs one time a week gives me the best results only doing squats 5-8sets ! I DONT train to failure!if i train more frequency its to hard for my System i always tired!all other muscles 2-3times a week !Why is that

I know you won't read this but I have shoulder pain and never knew why. I now know that I was not packing my shoulders while benching... I just did a bunch of reps with shoulders packed and no shoulder pain. Thank you... This will make all the difference in my workout. Amazing content!

This has nothing to do with the bench press, but today was the first day, where I was getting changed and I caught my reflection in the mirror, and actually thought to myself, holy shit my physique is really improving. I haven't been focusing on my weight lately. Been eating healthy [though]. My current goal is to get stronger, and I gotta say that has been working. I just had to say, thanks. You've been trying to cover so much grounds recently, and I've been trying to take it all in, and is helping me out a lot. You are one of the few channels I actually listen to.

I started working out last December and today I've managed to do two sets of 70kg for 4 reps before doing two sets of 65kg for 8x. It's a new PR for me from only being able to do a single rep with 70kg. (155lbs) I feel like there's steady progress. I do have to say I bench alone so im not taking any risks loading weight I can't lift.

I used to do touch and go for bench press but nowadays I do more pause bench. Pause bench feels more stable than touch and go, especially with doing heavy singles or doubles. With touch and go, my bar path is messed up and the weight doesn't feel too good in my shoulders. Pause benching allows me to keep tight, have a better bar path and it feels more comfortable pressing heavier weights with pause benching.
Can’t agree more with the last one. Btw, Scott, any plans on covering the Bradford Press? Would love your input on that exercise and how to use it optimally if it’s worth it!
I think best way to find out your grip width is to see the grip when your forearms are perpendicular to the barbell at the bottom of the movement. Johnny Pain talked about this in his book Greyskul Lp, pretty universal for everyone looking for strength and size imo.
Mate, please make one with tips to increase cardio stamina. I perform pretty good workouts (with your advice) but I cannot run more than 10 min on a treadmill. Please help!
Scott, could you please make a video on Thick Grip Training and "Fat Gripz"? A lot of people seem to say that Thick Grip Training increases muscle activation in the upper arms, but some studies say that it doesn't make a difference. Hope you can help, thanks.
I like Jeff Nippard's explanation that he tries to screw his upper back into the bench while he sets up his feet and lower body. That, along with keeping my shoulders down, has helped me tremendously. Aaaaaaand I'm still weak as hell.
I really felt a difference on packing the shoulders on my incline dumbbell press. Program I'm currently doing has a 10x10 db incline press with only 1 minute between sets using 60% of 1rm. First couple of go round my shoulders were sore by the end. Last time I really kept my shoulders packed and got thru all 100 reps and did not hit failure and felt it more in the chest!!
If you want the perfect grip width for the bench press here's what you have to do. Measure the length of the tip of your clavicle bone to the tip of your other clavicle bone. Then mark the center of your bar and then mark the length you messured of your clavicles away from the center of the bar on each side. That's were your index figure will go.

Regarding the bonus tip - funny, I thought you're supposed to try and bend the bar "outwards", which to better elbow inward rotation and lat activation.
Man, everyone who lifted around me said my form was wrong and that it was cheating to not have your back flat on the bench. Old school mentality man, some of these old guys are stubborn.
I use that tip too about the grip width, exécution I have the middle of my thumb on the knitting instead cuz I get vertical forearms. 1. That all depends on CALORIES. You need to track your meal plan! If you start losing weight... EAT MORE 2. focus on deadlift, suat and benching heavy. Use that strength to help you become a more powerful fighter!
Kudos, another essential knowledge based video. I don't usually do barbell bench presses instead mostly dumbbell presses because I train a lot in my home setup alone. My question is why do I sometimes get weaker at a certain DB or barbell exercise after several weeks of good progress & strength gains? Am I wearing out "exhausting" those muscles that I suppose to build by repeating the same thing too often? Thx Scot! Are there really some weight exercises you can do every single day & get gains from like some expert say?
