      That’s how much you weigh shredded!?!!
      Dude you can’t tell what people really look like on camera.
      That’s awesome Brother (Child of Nature 😂😎🤘🏼)
      My nervous system gets wrecked really easy. I’ve never done steroids, but my mind is more than my body can handle and I have to be really careful or I will destroy myself. I’ll get really stressed really easy and really angry really really easy it’s crazy but now that I can notice when it’s starting to brew up, I know it’s time for me to take a good 5-6 days off.
      I’m two years in as being really serious but I haven’t been that great at the diet but my body looks awesome and I wanna do way more forever all natural 🙌🏼
      I only really believe in You and Alix with a hard Greek last name LOL

      1) so the intense cardio doesn't "waste muscle", i thought steady state was the calorie/fat burn and hiit/run was glucose and muscle burning? 2) also, during hiit, if doing 20-30 second sprints, how long should the slow down period be? and can i walk/sprint? i'm not in condition yet to jog and sprint. thanks

    Hi Scott! New to your channel, mostly watching the older videos. You're always keeping things practical and calling out the nonsense in this industry. I've been doing Orange Theory during the day and lifting 2-3 evenings out of the week. I've lost 10 lbs in a couple of months and increased my muscle mass. All natural. No TRT! LOL. What you're talking about is true but wondering if I'd still be able to do that with my own cardio routine instead of the almost $200/month at OTF (it's worth the cost though...).

    Love the tips! One thing I find that works as a slight alternative to going to bed hungry is to "fill" yourself up on fruit like grapes. They will give you that feeling of eating something and will fill you in the same way drinking water does, but who ever put weight on eating grapes or fruit?!
    I find it really works. I know fruit does have some calories, but if you are struggling with that hungry feeling, a bunch a grapes does the trick for me👌

    About Cardio, what I do and also often advise is to, if possible, do it later in the day. Because what I've observed is that cardio earlier makes you tired and often ends up having a day in which you'll spend less calories than without it. People have less energy and don't go out on a walk or something. Later in the day the casl are already spent and the cardio calories are a net bonus.

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness  Рік тому

    Thanks for the video, because I need to lose weight and get in shape again. I don't want to end up what happened to my dad last year where he died of a heart attack at age 66. I'll be 41 on Labor Day Monday this year and I weigh 265 pounds. I learned that Japanese teas are good for losing weight and I drink a lot of it.
    Lastly, the man cave is under construction. I had a big box full of metal signs and images of wrestling/Conan The Barbarian, Destroyer/Ninja Turtles/and Monster Truck images and thinking I didn't have enough wall space, i ended up with a lot of free wall space. Maybe I'll make a video walkthrough when I'm 100% finished. Right now it's like 75% completed.

    I'm ending a 4 year bulk after I hit my goal of over a 500lbs deadlift got to 525, pretty easy for me to lose weight when I was eating 4 to 6 cups of rice, 4 to 6 eggs, a 1 1/2 pounds of meat and protein rich snacks every day for 4 years. I cut the rice and snacks and eat lots of fish, add carbs as my body tells me I need them and it will tell me. I'm down over 10lbs in about 3 weeks and have most of my strength. I was 220lbs but never really fat, just a little cushion for the big weights, the muscle I built is really showing through now. I will incorporate cardio when I level out.

    The snacking at night is my downfall and not because I don’t eat enough during the day but because it’s fun/mindless eating when reading or watching tv. I always tell myself not to eat after dinner and it happens anyway… my willpower needs to improve.

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness  Рік тому

      Practice makes perfect - just got to practice making it a habit to not snack at night. Maybe while you’re trying to break the habit, snack on low calorie options - like celery etc.

I’m usually good at eating supper and last calories of the day by 7:30 at the latest…losing weight is a challenge, though. Is it because of my late night workouts?)

    I tried the hungry window, it works..basically, i eat after work out around 8pm. Sleep around 11pm. Eat light breakfast in the morning like almonds and protien shake, which that fills me up for rest of the day. Eat around 1 to 2pm lunch, and workout in the evening.

    Hi Scott. I have a question for you based on what you said on how you looked in 2012. I'm the same age as you and for me my best shape was around 2012 becausee there i was the leanest with still a decent amount of muscle mass (93kg 1m88). When i bulked up 3 years ago to 108kg i was of course at my biggest, but kinda fatty. I cut down 20kg so went to 88kg, but now here comes the problem: the fat on my belly is still more than it was in 2012, even although it weighed 5kg more at that time. I also see in your later videos that you don't have the same low fat percentage as the videos from 10 years ago. As a fellow lifetime natural with 20+ training years my question to you is: Do you also feel that age is now playing a part when it comes to difficulties keeping the same muscle mass as before with the same low fatpercentage? I just simply can't seem to get back to that physique anymore. I put in the cardio, decent training and proper meals. I never in my life needed to cut before, but now the first time i did it the results are a bit disappointing to be honest. I still have a more than decent physique, but if i wanted to get back to my same fat percentage on my stomatch as in 2012 (arms, legs etc definitely are on the same fat percetange, if not lower than 10 years ago), i probably are going to loose too much muscle.
    I hope you can give me your point of view on this.
