Please consider doing a Chanel only presentation, including the classics but also the newer ones such as Sycamore, 1957, and the destination ones. When I visit the Chanel boutique here in Oak Brook, it's almost too much at once for the nose to differentiate.
Very interesting. I always liked the clean, soapy, shampoo fragrances as my favorite scent profile: 1. Blanche 2. JLO Glow 3. Dylan Blue. I think it's because before I was into fragrances I always got compliments on how good I smelled after just freshly showered & shampooed. Thinking that I wish there was a perfume that would make that freshness last for hours. Now they're here.
Pikovaya Dama is an opera by Tjajkovskij (after Pusjkin). Everyone commits suicide or duel or turn insane but first they go to masquerades and gamble a lot.🥳
This is an excellent videos as I’m new to aldehydic perfumes and gives me a huge range to sample thank you a very exquisite list and impressive description I’m loving this ❤
Aldehyde reminds me of ice candy that our elementary school teacher told us not to buy because it’s full of artificial flavoring/coloring and sold outside which is not well regulated. And because of that, i tend to not like perfume with aldehyde. 😭
I love aldehydes! Loved watching you with Sarah Baker. I wore Chanel 22 on my wedding day along with the matching body cream in 1988. It was an amazing beautiful scent back then. I don’t know if it’s been reformulated? Anyway, loved this video content. Thanks so much 😊
Metallique and Chanel °5 Eau Premiere are my favorite 2 full bottle aldehydic fragrances in my collection at the moment. Side note..I just paused this video to run outside to get my Mystery Box ! Cannot wait to have the video where we get to discuss all the goodies inside. Y'all have a great weekend! I've got a lot of sniffing to do 😊
Hello Sebastian and Sara. Very interesting set of videos, thank you. Do you know how does Patchouli Blanc compare with Tom Ford’s White Patchouli? I have been looking for a White Patchouli replacement.
Another great selection here, with several I have yet to try. I really want to get my nose on Rien Intense Incense and Guerlain Encens Mythique. They've been on my "to try" list for a long time but haven't gotten around to them yet. I also want to try some stuff from Strangers. People rave about that house but I always forget about them until I've blown through my budget. lol.
I like Byredo Blanche, also MM Lazy Sunday Morning and would love to own one from the Guerlain Les Absolus d'Orient, I feel I should go also with Encens Mythique unless you think other ones are better. i need advice for this ones 😭
Thank you Sebastian for keeping the uniqueness on your videos. ❤I love the category series in fragrances because you introduce me to so many I've never heard of. My favourite aldehidic fragrance is definitely Pikovaya Dama and another one that has aldehydes but not very prominent is Accento Overdose.
Not a fan of aldehydic fragrances but I love Rien Incense Intense!! specially in the heat, I don't like it that much in cold weather, smells bitter on my skin. Also watched the Classics video I like classic perfumery but I prefer to focus on the current fragrances. I need to try Pikovaya Dama not a big fan of Xerjoff but it caught my interest. Always a pleasure to see Sarah on your channel. Thanks for the video guys!!!
HI there, I love Chanel n5 l'eau and I'm looking for something similar from niche maybe more persistent..! do you think there's something between these that could smell like it or has the same vibe?
1979 New Wave from les bains guerbois and Citizen Queen from Juliette has a gun are my favorites at the moment. I'd like to try TF Metallique and I sometimes use byredo blanche as an office fragrance (the 12 ml was in one of their sets). It was not boring at all 🙂
Hi I’ve got a ton of Fougere fragrances videos on the channel which are basically barbershop fragrances. Just do a search for fougere and you can find them.
Encens Mythique made me fall in love again with aldehydes. To my nose aldehydes, rose and ambergris are the most prominent notes. For someone who had the chance to smell tinctures of real ambergris (the whitish variant), Encens mythique in the dry down smells exactly like that ambergris tincture and surprisingly lasts days on clothes. Perhaps lending the animatic “bad breath” profile. I remember people calling this perfume like smelling drowned roses in the depth of the ocean through the breath of a whale lol. Great videos !!

It was really fun to be a guest on your channel, Sebastian! Great topic, I learned a lot. Your collection is top! 🏆
I find Sara's observations a nice complement to Sebastians.
I agree.

Aldehyde lover here. Fantastic presentations - both classics and the newer offerings! Well- done!
Many thanks!

You two look like a well matched couple. Your fragrance tastes nicely compliment each other as well.

Love these informative videos. You forgot Stairway To Heaven by Mad et Jud Paris.
Hi Sebastian, thanks for bringing Sara on. Love both of your views and commentary on fragrances.
My pleasure!
Pikovaya Dama . . . one of my faves
Thanks for sharing . . .
Yes uber luxurious fragrance there. Love it.
Great list, another recommendation for beautiful perfume that is based on aldehydes - Stairway To Heaven Jul et Mad Paris
Oh yes I remember smelling that sometime ago.
Great job, Sebastian and Sarah! I love this video, and I've learned a lot about aldehydic fragrances. I own the 1957 and I absolutely love it.
I love this video !
Awesome reviews video. Really enjoyed. I like your personalities together. Going to try some of these.✨🌸🌞💖

Unfortunately I don’t remember the No. 5 Eau Premiere I’ll have to revisit it again.
Great video series with Sarah! I learned a lot! ❤
So glad!
I’m reminded of Elizabeth from BioShock…lovely woman here. Another great, Informative video from Sebastian.

Oh yes Accento Overdose. I must pull that out and wear it again. It’s been a while and I love it. 😀
i like her comments a lot, she is very knowledgeable yet sweet and humble,

This was very interesting and informative, thanks
Comme de garcons 2 was my first niche perfume bought in the year 2000: favourite forever!
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. Thanks Sebastian! ❤
Le Labo Aldehyde 44 (Dallas) was my first Le Labo purchase. It’s perfect for hot days in Texas.
Perfect scent for Dallas yes. 😀

I’ll have to revisit
I've been loving aldehydic fragrances lately.
I'm on board with Yuzu Soda! 🍋
Really enjoyed both videos ❤
So glad!
And "Genevieve" by 1907 is also fantastic ❤
Wonderful 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for sharing ❤️
I am not so crazy about Lazy Sunday Morning, it gives me headache
Aldehydes probably can be sharp and headache inducing.
true@@ThePerfumeGuy
I ADORE "porter sa peau" ❤
*Surprised you didn’t include Nasomatto - Blamage*
Does Eleventh Hour by Byredo have aldehydes? It's fresh effervescent quality is one of its most distinguishable features for me.
Funny I just looked it up the other day, friend wears it but didn’t see aldehydes listed. But it could feature it. 😀
Lets go professor 🎉🎉
You got this!
Ramune is actually a Japanese brand of soda
Very nice video…love aldehydes. And Sarah is very cute…;)
please do matcha fragrance list❤
Guerlain oud kohl is a very soapy aldehydic charcoal
I'll have to revisit this one.
Soapy in an astringent way.. is she saying that first fragrance had sort of a castile soap kinda smell? 🤔
There’s a major clean soapiness against the animalic funk of that fragrance. It’s like contrasts of differences between clean and dirty.
What about L'Eau from Serge Lutens?
I find out about your channel for MR fragrance great content SR can you please make a video about barbershop fragrance for men
Hi I’ve got a ton of Fougere fragrances videos on the channel which are basically barbershop fragrances. Just do a search for fougere and you can find them.
Here’s one to start you off. ua-cam.com/video/yI_VHQf8ZHI/v-deo.html

I like Paper Soap, but i prefer Et Voila from Teo Cabonel. Sometimes Paper Soap cringes my nose!
Overdose of aldehydes perhaps?
@ThePerfumeGuy might be, I'm also pretty sensitive to rose so could be that as well
Could be yes for sure.
I rember wearing Oscar De Larenta. That is a classic
Ooh
Sarah my crush!! 😍
Tom ford metallic is being vaulted
meaning?
@isobel64 guessing Kyle means it’s being discontinued

For some reason the ambergris in that fragrance is super potent me.
I was expecting Superstitious from FM
Discontinued
@@ThePerfumeGuy wait what! I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I got to search for a spare one asap
I agree with Sarah Encens Mythique is a class apart the Ambergris(from Nz) gives it a very very sexy sillage.
Pikovaya dama is the goat 🐐 ot aldehydes
Well, I can see this for sure!!
@@ThePerfumeGuynice to know you agree! . It’s soo good
👍
👍👍👍👍
No hippies here 😂😂😂😬🤦🏻♂️
Nothing against hippies! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuyI know... the scent patchouli
