Hey lovelies! I started my loc journey on August 24th 2020. Best. Decision. EVER. Here is the video of how I used the two-strand twist method to start them. Like for a 3 month update!

You did a great job and you’re really funny. I know retwisting all of your locs the same direction can be confusing and sometimes frustrating but if you were ever to go to some one else and have them do your hair, it will be easier to tell them which way to twist all of your locs and could keep you from having to remember which locs go which way. Twisting a loc in multiple directions is how holes are created which can damage them. Just hang in there. The “science” behind it all will be soooo worth it in the end!
the way my brain just froze from tryna figure out which way i retwist by muscle memory lol😂! i really try to do them all clockwise as if i was standing behind me doing my own hair if that makes any sense at all. and thank you so much for watching and giving me advice!

Ima start mines by myself too and I already know how I wanna start them I think ima do it in the end of the year so I can grow out my hair first cus I had to restart growing my hair from a shaved head so yep can’t wait😁
I moisturized my loc as I went, sprayed with oil infused water, and Jam! My parts are simile to yours, im excited for the turn out In about a year or so 💙

Imma just keep watching tons of vids on locs while I sit here looking like Edward scissor hands, until I decided I've had enough of this madness. I believe my breaking point is coming soon. 🤣🤣 it’s definitely something you gotta think about long and hard before you actually do it! It’s a whole new way of dealing with your hair and it takes some time to adjust to the new ways you have to care for your hair. All i can say is not to compare your locs (when you do start them) with anyone else’s!! That’s what made me not like mine ☹️. You gotta love your own hair in all it’s ways!

At the end you tried to explain how to twist the loc according to what direction you plan to retwist/palm roll. I understood what you meant lol. However, you said "watch some videos, that's what you did"...Which videos did you watch? I'd like to watch them also.

Hi, I did a lil braid at the roots of mine.. so that my root wont puff of quick and my twists wont unravel, also it made my twists fall in uniform direction instead of them shooting anywhere they like.

Thanks so much!! I did not do a braid at the root but that might’ve helped me lol. I’m sure it’ll help make them look more neat when you start them!
You don't have to twist your entire head the same... Normally when we twist the right side we twist going back and the same for the left side so when retwisting you have to remember that plus it's natural to do them in that direction so you can't mess up.
We naturally twist or do anything a certain way in a pattern. Just continue the pattern.

Thanks so much!! I’ve tried many different ways of retwisting my locs and I’ve found that my hair does best with just oil. I don’t think they are mature enough to not use clips but I’m on my way there

No disrespect but I have 4c hair. This is more like 4b
None taken! I think 4C shrinks a LOT more than 4B and the curls clump up at the end while 4B type hair has a zigzag pattern. But that's me going off of a hair type chart (and most always switch 4B and 4C so idk what the right one is lol)
@@jordoesitall8211 some people also have mixtures of more than one texture lol. However, we are all in this together :-)

I honestly don’t remember but i think it was the Jamaica twist brand
Soo am I the only one who appears to have 4c hair but it doesn’t curl when it gets in contact with gel 😬
Maybe it hasn’t something to do with porosity because all hair types curl and I shaved my head and grew it back and my hair is curling but it’s more coiled but same thing and it’s 4c but before. I cut it it never curled like that so probably damaged a bit but idk abt u but mines curl
