I just finished my starter locs lastnight. I’m officially on my loc journey. I cried the same way I did when I did my big chop back in HS but it was more intense. I can’t stop smiling
Yesss sis! I feel your pain being a natural. I began in 2013 and completely big chopped in 2019 and I’m so over it lol so I’m starting my loc journey this week! Good luck mama!
May I suggest you use a extremely small amount of a light oil almond, jojoba or something like those because if you use too heavy or to much oil it will cause build up and attract lint and other junk. Use only if you are dry other than that your natural sebum should be good. Aloe vera, flax seed or any natural gel would be good and some essential oils mixed in your light oils would be good too.
Been natural for five years as well and I’m OVER it...I only relaxed twice a year before and I’m on the brink of reconsidering this journey! It’s too much work
You did really good! 🙂 I used to have locs so I have one suggestion. If anyone hasn’t mentioned. You can put quite a few locs under clips. Less clips. They’re hell to sleep in. 😁 Your hair looks very nice. 😎
@@simonescorner good luck in this journey. You'll have SUCH a relationship with them! Good days and bad. Unexpected days too! I hope they become everything thing you need in your life, Queen. You'll look marvelous. 🙏🏽😊
I feel you, I so want to do the twist locs but I have a bald spot on the top of my head. My hair is long but fine, very fine so I am afraid it will not be thick enough to cover the bald spot. I have 4c hair and it has taken me nine long years to get my hair midway down my back. To detangle takes me five to six hours, I shampoo my hair every two to four weeks, depending on my health which is another reason I want to loc my hair. I am losing strength in my left arm, already two fingers on my left hand have to remain in a brace most of the time to tolerate the pain, (long story), and having locs will be so much better for me. Dealing with the long hard shampoo days then retwist or braid my hair back up. Shampoo day is a two to three-day process, I take a day or two to detangle and an entire day to shampoo and retwist, if I had locs I could just leave it alone, but I also think about what's going to when I have to retwisting every six to eight weeks... I am lost lol! I also use the Shea Moisture products, love it.
Wow that’s a lot, I definitely understand why you wanna try locs. I think you should see how it turns out cause you could always take them down depending how far in your journey you get
They look great! 😍 may I ask was your hair wet or damp? My hair is soft and unravels when wet so I was gonna wash, deep condition, and blow dry it and then start my twists that way I’ll have length and it won’t unravel but I’m not sure if I should. Also how often do you plan on retwisting?
Thank you ☺️ and it was more on the damp side, if I was you I wouldn’t blow dry it for the length because you’re gonna have to moisturize your hair with water so it’s just gonna shrink back up anyways and right now I’m thinking every 4 weeks
Ok i need some advice from you I plan to get a hair transplant soon. I want to get locs and off course they are gonna cut some off in the back for the hair transplant. After about a year i want to get the locs reattached. How long do you suggested i wait before getting the hair transplant after gettibg locs?
Im locing my hair tmrw and i feel your pain on not feeling like doing your hair frfr I've been natural my whole life so dat 15 almost 16 years but I have thought abt it for a long time and im ready to it why not atp
You are going to have to wait till you are out house. If you can’t convince her to let you start. My mom was the same. Let me know if you convinced her and how you did it.

So do you not have to loc your twists in order to get locs ?
No you dont
Need an update 🥰
I have a question so after i get done washing my starter locs , can i retwist them without unraveling it?
Some people experience unraveling but I didn’t
It looks amazing
Thank you 😊
this video is good thanks
How long did it take you to do your hair?
Hours lol
I think I have finally found someone with my hair texture, lol whatever it may be (I still don’t know).. what texture do you think your hair is?
It’s mostly 3c with some 4a
U did a great job
Thank youu
Do you have to use the clips ?
I don’t think you have to
Were you going for thick locs?
I didn’t want them too big or too small, I wanted them to be full though
how long did this take? I’m currently in the process of starting my locs
Joining the team! And I wanna say somewhere between 6-8 hours with some breaks included
thanks girl!
You welcome
I was about to paid someone to do them for me $700 after watching this I will do it myself
😳 whoa , Definitely save that money lol
i want to start but my mom wont let me :(((
That sucks 😕
