@@athrocamtinian it was the right rail on the console but all fixed! I also fixed the memory card reader, another joycon rail, the “L” ribbon, and now I have to solder the “R” part. Lol. Then we should officially be all fixed lol.
This really helped, I thought one of mine had broken but for some reason it had lost sync with the switch and had to press the little black button on the inside of the rails again, i hope that helps anyone else having similar problems
Okay, so I did the flip around method (solution 3) and the left joycon will not connect/charge on the right side when flipped backwards (the right one connects and works perfectly) so I am assuming it’s the contact points on the joycon after process of elimination. I’ve cleaned it and nothing has helped. They are charging on a separate dock separately and working off of the switch/on the black holder they sit in that makes a controller. Any insight before I buy the replacement parts would be great! 😅
I have a switch lite and a seperate charging dock but the issue is just on the left one?? I did clean it after seeing this but only just now so no results yet...
Mine started charging again after I put them in a charging grip thing. It was only $25, but it’s supremely dumb that the switch can’t charge a completely dead controller.
I have the same issue. My right joy con is showing low battery but connects and works just fine. For some reason it appears that it simply does not charge. Did you find any solution at all?
@@TheRealToxic I ended up sending mine in for repair/replacement. Nintendo sent me a new pair. Those work just fine and are charging like they should. So it turns out it was the battery in the left one that was going. The rails are working as they should.
@@Jennie-x7z When you sent them in for repair, how much did that cost? I also know that my rails are fine because the same problem happens on both my switches. Thanks for answering!
@@TheRealToxic I'm via the US. Didn't cost anything. What region are your from? Depending on it, you might have it available for free too. Just double check it. Had to let the customer service person know that it was still available for free tho.
Things you may need:
JoyCon Battery Replacement: amzn.to/3YfKaGp
JoyCon Charging Station: amzn.to/4cY1GTU
JoyCon Charging Cord: amzn.to/3YiPatC
JoyCon Rail: amzn.to/4c5Ddux
Switch Screwdriver Kit: amzn.to/4c7ZNTG
This was extremely helpful. Waiting on a tri-wing screw driver now and the joycon replacement parts to see if that fixes my son’s issue!
did it?

I swear I have no idea how that worked but solution 2 fixed it and it even fixed the weak connection of the joy con
none of these solutions worked for me but after i updated my joycons and restarted my console they started working hope this helps

Ok so yeah i need new joycons...the battery in the problem one was ballooning? But its easier fir me to just get new ones
Thank you so much ❤❤
I put it on the opposite side and then back and it charged
Thank you
Fixed it!!
Solution 2 worked for me, but a little black pain fell off.

Tried 9 out before and they paired up ok, but the left one is still showing up as low battery. This is after cleaning the rails and contact points.

My right joycon won’t turn on. No green lights and won’t work.

Plug it into the left side or buy a new battery. A 2 pack is only $20.
