Did you record this with a phone from 2011? That video quality makes it hard to actually make out any differences. Anyways, I was wondering if the RS5 is actually any wider or is it just cosmetic differences? I see fake vents near the headlights/tail lights on the RS5.
Here's what happened and please learn from my mistake. I bought a stupid new model DJI phone gimbal and it was terrible, when I got home I realized the video was shaky, too late to go back. I sent the DJi back and got a gimbal for my new camera.

You can slightly tell but the RS5 has 2 body lines on the rear quarter panels where as the A5-S5 has only one body line. Besides that though RS5 has different suspension and different brakes. Drives completely different than S5.
S5 Sportback is my first Audi and I totally LOVE it!! The exterior looks sporty while interior has that aesthetic vibe that is lacking in BMW. The only thing that i wish could be better is the "steering" in dynamic mode, which is not as tactile as BMW.
Had my 3 year old S5 coupe just about a month now and I'm still amazed at the beautiful lines, the quality interior and the incredible drive. Paid half the new price too for a spotless example.
I drive an RS5 and it is nasty! I get goosebumps every time I look at it, start it up, and drive it. There is a white S5 in my area and he gave me the thumbs up when he pulled up beside me. If you have the money, get the RS5 and all of its options.
I just picked up a 2022 S5 Sportback. Best car under 80K in my opinion. Anything faster than that is honestly meant for roads like the autobahn lol. Unreal car.
I drove both a 2018 A5 sportback and a 2018 S5 coupe and I had to go with purchasing an S5. The A5 looks nice but didn't have the oomph of power that you want from an Audi. The RS5's power and aggressive styling is great but you pay much more for the privilege.
Really nice comparison between this 3 cars and I agree with your decision. Finally own a 2017 S5 Sportback in daytona gray and it´s just amazing. Had a 2010 3.0 A5 Coupe TDI before which was also a good daily driver. But the S5 is just sporty and a bit luxury :-)
Awesome video👍 I have driven all three. I owned an A5 B9 and now S5 B9. A5 with 4 cylinder has almost nothing in common with an S5 beside the awesome look. S5 and RS5 in other hand are comparable, sound, acceleration the sporty feeling and so on, and RS5 is ofcourse the best and fastest 😎
Wan Bee .... I really got bored with it. Don’t get me wrong, the engine is amazing, but that’s all it is ...an engine. The car wasn’t engaging to drive. If money was no object then I would have kept it for the odd times I felt like letting loose. For everyday driving, the Audi is a much better car

They should have given you the A5 s-line with the sport suspension and virtual cockpit to compare to the s5. Makes a big difference compared to the base model
I am driving the s-line A5 as a loaner while my s5 is getting a replacement tire. It's a great vehicle, very smooth and comfortable cruising, but from a performance standpoint, there is no comparison. It's a totally different experience jumping up to S5

The S5 is the Best Bang For Your Buck. If you keep it long enough for the Warranty expire, or don't care about voiding the Warranty, you can tune the 3.0T V6 to 400 hp easily

Man I’m so glad he made sure I understood that these cars all had ‘similar cabin space’ and technology. I was convinced each would be completely different because they definitely aren’t all the same car just engineered differently for performance 🙄
I just used the Audi Canada configurator, and got maxed out prices at 63K, 73K and 105K for the A5, S5, and RS5 respectively. Very nice, but very pricey! I think I'd just take a Stinger GT and pocket the rest.
Insurance tho man jeez I’m 20 years old I had A4 for my first car and then I just recently got my 2018 a5 oh boy oh boy for a 20 year old kid it sure is expensive i can’t afford my a5 to be a daily driver I have to drive my subie to work
depends what you need and prefer. those are also my 2 current choices, but i am going with S5 for now because it will be quicker, i prefer the more sporty look and suspension/options. but the a7 will be better if you want a more comfortable car, less sporty but more luxury options, will be better if you have a family and for carrying passengers more comfortably.
I owned an S5 Sportback and now I own an RS5 Sportback (Check my channel). While I agree that on comfort mode, difference isn't that noticeable, it is a complete different story on dynamic. Ok, my S5 didn't have the DRC suspensions, rear differential and dynamic steering wheel that I have on the RS5...
No you won't. Stock S5 has 354HP/369 Trq. ABT software upgrade increases to 420HP/405 Trq. Stock RS5 has 445 HP/443 Trq. So there is no smoking the RS5 with a tune. However, it would be a much better value to go this route. Also tuned RS5 with MTM is 525/516.
I have a JB4 piggy back on my S5 Sportback and it's around 430hp / 450tq. It's easily on par with the RS5. Honestly,.I think the RS5 front is better but the S5 rear is better with the quad exhaust. The RS5 oval exhaust looks stupid.

I've got a friend who has an S5 and he constantly complains about the stiffer suspension even in the normal mode. Its a great car for the power and value but Im looking for a daily so the suspension is a dealbreaker for me. I'd rather have the A5 with sline package. S5 is only if you want the extra power A7 is a nice car but I wouldnt recommend. Too much in terms of pricing and you get most if not all of the tech in the A5. If you want a 7 series, you might as well save up all the way and get an rs7 instead

Tech wise they aren't different, mostly performance. Now the RS5 has some interior differences, other than that not far off.

The S5 is a rocket compared to the Stinger that being said, it will cost you a bit more.

I dont know where u live, but in Canada the S5 gets a lot of that extra options. DRC suspension system etc.
