    Unfortunately, things like this happen to a lot of people including myself. I have just kept silent and moved forward. Maybe i should expose the bad service i have received in the past so it can help others. What are your thoughts?

      I think you should. I know how much the two of you love your cars and the time and money you put into them. It might help someone else avoid the same heart brake. I going through some BS with a shop that currently has my car.

      *It's a TOUGH position man, because people make mistakes. For me, I would put the content out their for the soul purpose of things to look for or be aware of and not put who did the work on blast IF they were sincere in their mistake & apology. But we all know some A$$HOLE mechanics/engineers who NEED to be EXPOSED!* #SilenceIsCompiance

    • @FranksGarageOfficial

      Definitely tough. You don't want to blast people for honest mistakes. Especially if they are willing to make it right. You know this game is crazy and finding a team you can trust is tough. Even people on my team have made mistakes but they always make it right. If they aren't willing to do that, then people should know to avoid that person

    • @Makc843
      @Makc843 7 місяців тому +2

      @kobate08 I agree mistakes happen but it's the shops responsibility to double check and triple check. If I was selling a product or service I would double check because I know I'm human and I make mistakes. If a shop took responsibility for their mistake and made it right I would have any hard feelings. If I paid for a service and then had to pay someone else to correct it that's bad business.

    • @FranksGarageOfficial
      @FranksGarageOfficial 7 місяців тому +1

      @Makc843 agreed. This business is risky. That's why I'm big on consistency when dealing with shops. I like to deal with people who treat my car like it's theirs. I also like shops who are fans of their own work

    Well pulling the motor is a good move because at least you can determine the status of the motor, not just from the water invasion but from all the pulls and stress you've been putting the motor under. It gives you a peace of mind knowing you got a healthy motor regardless of the stress it's under. But YT algorithm likes the drama so it all works out- I would title the video to like: smoke from the turbos to possible hydro-locking???
    Looks like your back into the thick of things again. ^_^

    I think your good bro. It's definitely a step back and a little ptsd in the future. It was time to have the motor looked over like you said. Hopefully some cleaning and gasket changed. Maybe replace a piston or 2 and plugs. Fingers crossed and prayers up bruh. Doesn't sound like it seized up so that a huge positive

    That sucks to pull the engine out,but probably the right decision....Hey steph on the turbos, I thought they pull air from the exhaust?

    • @runespaze
      @runespaze 7 місяців тому +1

      There’s two turbines on turbos and they’re connected by a single shared rod. One side has exhaust that spins the hot side, and in response the other turbine will draw in air, compress, and force it into into the engine.

    Oooooh man. So this is the danger of messing with/chopping up water-to-air end tanks and cores. I never really hear of the stock ones failing catastrophically, but I've always wondered.
    You got lucky, Steph. This could have turned into a hydrolock situation real, real quick.
    I don't think it can be trusted after so many repairs imho, but I know they're expensive. It really should have been tested pressure after the beforehand tho, at the bare minimum.

    Wait what?? My condolences, Steph.
    I assume your guys did a compression test and found low compression from a bent rod or broken piston or pushed head gasket caused from the hydrolock situation? Otherwise the engine may be fine and only smoking/ steaming from the coolant leaking into the intake. Compression good = engine good, compression low = ok there was some damage done…
    Anyways, keep grinding bro.
