@@ImJidionDaddy It's not going to beat a Porsche GT3 RS on a track, and a built Porsche is still faster on a drag strip until they figure out how to get the S58 to 2,000+ horsepower. Porsche cars are lighter and more aerodynamic. For example, a lamborghini is fast in a drag strip in a straight line, but it is terrible on a track. Porsche destroys Lamborghinis on tracks. I'm not even a fan of porsche cars. I'm just telling you how it is.

I never seen single turbo on an M6 I have one , The platform is limited to fuel , My car made 860whp on Mustang Dyno , My motor is built also , with built trans , Pure Turbos , Meth injection , Diff brace ,Akara ti exhaust plus the intake manifolds will split after 32lbs of boost , You have to pull the motor to change them , The DCT sucks for launching better off a roll race car , good luck, I hope you have deep pockets it will cost you , My friend has an X3M brand new pulled the motor and built with all the BS that goes into it he has 90k in mods already,

Man I agree American cars are historically known to be better drag cars. However the reason people still build B58 and S58 powered cars to drag race is the same reason you got a manual hellcat, preference. It would be faster and easier to build a ZF8hp hellcat however you chose manual. They wanna show the world bmws can compete in a straight line similar to how you prove manual hellcats can compete as well. In the end we all know its love and damn good entertainment between the guys and cars!! Good vid!!

No taking anything away from those cars they are fast a low 9 second car is quick. But to put this into perspective as this is about comparing them. The hellcat and I mean the regular 707 hp from 15 can achieve this with fuel and some pulleys. No after market turbo, down pipes, exhaust, to intake, manifold, trans, to include drive line stuff. Just a drive shaft and some axils. Mod2fames car cheapo kitty is about 1400hp not even completely built many of the stock parts or still on the block with some turbos added. The cars a roll race car though not a drag car. But if it was it would be an 8 second car. Not just an 8 second car on a great day once in a while like 90% always 8s type of power.
@@joshreynolds729 Those BMWs are only now just getting figured out though. They ran 8.9 already but still have a lot to figure out since its a newer platform. Keep in mind these cars will run these times on the street unprepped surface aswell because of the awd system.

I think I understand both sides of the argument here. This new BMW age is quick and has the potential to be damn fast with a little bit of money invested into. The price of the BMW plus the investment in mods could get them into Hellcat Redeye territory in terms of power AND price with the bonus 500lbs weight reduction.
But here's the question if we believe what was said is true, would that logic still hold up if that Hellcat Redeye owner invest $10k in mods in their vehicle and the BMW owner invest in $20k instead the initial $10k? Will the performance be the same or do we see some drop off in term price per dollar?
These videos are just for fun to stir up the hornets nest but not to be taken too seriously in terms of resolving the price per dollar investment for drag racing.

@wokekidd You are right G80's weigh in the 4,000lb range, but the stock horsepower range the Hellcat is 200hp more than the M3/M4. The 850i/M8 is a fair comparison with the M8 making 620hp to a base Hellcat 707hp.

Likewise it would be going backwards in that aspect because dodge already has a 9 second V8. BMW doesn't have any 9 second factory cars, and Dodge doesn't care about the aftermarket street racing scenes to copy BMW where BMWs are really fast only after additional modifications are made obviously voiding warranty on brand new cars. So my question is what is the benefit of so called following BMW? So the car can do that because BMW has the turning game for a decade. An inline hurricane isn't going to put the over sized charger in BMW handling territory. Meanwhile BMW isn't trying to sell 9 second cars. So I'm waiting to hear what are the benefits

I am a Bimmer fan going back to the 80's but if I was to build a drag racer, I would have to choose the Hellcat simply because of the bigger displacement. The S58/ B58 are great engines but they limited by their displacement.
