This might be the most attractive truck you’ve reviewed on this channel.
Honestly it's that color that makes this so appealing to me, that Grey looks way better on this than say an all black version imo
Such a beautiful truck
The best color combo on this truck. Nice.
I’m GM finally added this color to the lineup 👍🏽
This is the exact truck I bought a couple of months ago, and it is AWESOME. Never loved a truck so much.
This is the exact truck I just bought. I considered a ZR2 but knowing I would change wheels and tires and add a small lift regardless made this the better option. I can add exactly what I want to the LTZ Z71 and still come out less than what a ZR2 would have cost. The only thing I'm missing is the DSSV shocks and rear locker, which doesn't hurt my feelings a bit. I plan on towing and offroad shocks like that were never meant to tow. This is also the first time I can remember where Chevy has the best looking truck in my opinion. Even beats out the GMC for me, and optioned out the exact same, was $6k less than the GMC AT4. This truck just makes sense.
Just picked up the exact one today and love it.
I bought a 2019 Z71 2500 Duramax back in 2018. Love the heck out of it. If you don’t mind me asking what did you pay. Was thinking of possibly getting a new one?
@@toddsmith1690 I actually got it at 81k. Before taxes of course. But, it's ok. This is my 3rd diesel and it definitely hit all the marks I've been looking for.
@@kuyaali956 thanks. I know it’s a lot of money but once you drive it you feel it’s totally worth it. I’m happy for you. Enjoy. Beautiful truck.
I just had a rental 2024 Duramax LT while my Ram was being serviced for warranty repair. I towed 10k, Jeep and Heavy trailer, and the power of the new D Max was amazing. I was doing 85mph up grades in 9th gear. Really an awesome truck. Unfortunately, I don’t trust GM electronics, way too many issues lately.
Just bought this exact truck and it is amazing. The color is what makes it.
I just built and ordered a ZR2 2500hd. Gasser, less the Bison package, and less the tech package, which is essentially the heads up display and rear mirror camera. $69,250 less any more rebates when the truck comes in. IMO this is a way better truck for the money than the LTZ. I get the same options as the LTZ less those couple that I mentioned, and I get the ZR2 truck for less money. Winning!!
This truck is on the way but in the 6.6 Gasser. traded in my 6.2L sand dune Trail boss. $63,265 not bad for the price 2500 are going these days
Why gas over diesel? I'm stuck on which to get as well
@@cabmex I don’t think I will tow that much and for long distances so the gasser makes more since and it’s 10k cheaper. The Duramax is awesome tho
Diesel is gonna give you problems in the long run of your not driving it that high RPMs for long distances. Most people get the diesel and just use it as a daily back and forth to work and that's when the engine starts giving you problems. Unlike a gas engine
@@poolplexer well said my father in law bought a Ram 2500 Cummins and it just sits 🤦🏻♂️
I bought a new diesel and have already had emissions issues 4K on it. People in the groups are having weekly problems. Get gas. The money you’ll keep in your pocket over a diesel is worth it. Even if you purchase a 100k extended bumper to bumper the biggest issues is emissions control. I’ll be trading my 3.0 Duramax with in the next year for the 6.6 gas zr2.
Waste your money on a ZR2 if you want. I got a 6.6L gas LTZ Z71, with a 3 inch lift and custom wheels and tires. Would have loved this color! Ben keep up the good work! 👍
How the mpg’s
@@avexbeyond4528 We all know it's shit.
Z71 doesn't have the Multimatic DSSV suspension, which is what makes all ZR2s unique. The ride quality is unmatched. I've got the 1500 and 2500HD ZR2 and they are great trucks and ride incredibly well at 80 mph on freeway or 15 mph off road.
Meh. DSSV shocks are not magic. The magnetic fluid shocks ARE magic, but obviously NA on HD. Test drove the HD ZR2…rode way too stiff on the highway. I’m sure it would be better while carrying a load, which I rarely do. So, you can’t have your cake and eat it too with just DSSV shocks.
Just took delivery of a Ram RHO…rides much better, though it’s still a pickup on 35s…not a Cadillac ride.
@tomh9470 your full of shit. You didn't learn anything on a test drive. I've got a 22 1500 ZR2 and 24 2500HD ZR2 that ride incredibly well on and offroad and towing. Also, a 23 Tahoe HC that rides good on road.
I have a 23' Northsky Blue Metallic Midnight Edition 6.6 Duramax... Love It! 🥃
If you go with the 6.6 gas engine and stick with more sensible options choices, you can get a LTZ Z71 Sport very nicely equipped for $70k, before negotiating a discount. Personally, I wouldn't buy most modern diesel engines because they are absurdly overpriced, extremely unreliable and way too expensive to maintain. Any of the HD gas engines available are reliable and way more capable than most buyers will ever need, but most truck buyers don't actually need a truck at all so I guess that explains that.
Diesel dont give you problems if you use them as intended, you run into issues when they are used as a daily driver and not actually being worked to clean out the motor with higher rpms
@@juanmartinezinc59 Even if modern diesels were reliable, which they definitely are not, they still wouldn't be worth the ridiculous up-charge... typically at least $10k more than gas.
In ten years i bet my diesel will be worth twice what your gas engine is worth lol
@@juanmartinezinc59 You got me there. Yep, there are a lot of brainless diesel fan boys out there with more money than smarts, and they will happily buy a used up diesel truck that barely runs for way more $$ than its worth just because it's a diesel. Not the sharpest crowd.
This comment is so funny and so accurate lol
How this truck went from ugliest looking at the beginning of the generation to best looking with the slight refresh is beyond me. I’d actually buy this if I could afford it.
It always looked good dude 😂
The ZR2 grill is different and changes the look dramatically.
I have a 2034 2500 duramax with the midnight package and hancook off road tires. I love the truck and i do take it off road whiling hunting. I wonder why the need for the ZR2 package.
I got the same truck but it in white with sunroof. Love it.
Tires are important. But, for a more important reason than you cited. They are most important as an integral part of the suspension of any vehicle. I saw you hopping around in the parking lot which you didn't intend to be in. That truck would have ridden much smoother on 17" wheels with a properly inflated set of BFG All-Terrains. That would be my choice. Of course I would choose white letters out and saved 10Gs on a gas engine, too. But, that's JMO.
Ben the kinda guy to kidnap Santa Claus wife
Random
@@BenHardyCarsbut true???
I love the look of the zr1's n 2's but i cannot deal with all these recalls that American trucks are having year after year.
85 k is pretty steep considering some people of the fit and finish is not exactly ultra premium and lacks a full size display. Great design and other features as well
I don't get it. For 85 grand, you can build a 2500 HD ZR2 diesel, so why go this route?
This thing is just 🔥
The Chevrolet is a more refined truck than the Ford by many aspects
Hey Ben are they on a stop sale because they said the 1500 is because the roofs are splitting open ?
I need to research that
@@BenHardyCars
Wait a minute…..
What?
Thanks for the comment dude. Didn’t know about this issue. Gotta call my dealer now and see if my 24 is affected. Thanks GM😒
@@dallaslewis556 yeah I was reading it online yesterday it says they have a stop sale on the roof on the left and right they’re are molding and that’s where the problem is so it said they would need to be re welled because it will split in half in high winds just what I read don’t know how true it is good luck
It's only 3000 VINs.
I like a truck that can still tow a nice amount so you can still get a ltz midnight edition in the 3500 which is nice and im not a fan of the zr2 bison interior
What color is this? I love it with the black grill and badges
I’m glad Ben doesn’t say “my tester “ with every video. Don’t get any ideas Ben lol
ZR2 has the Mulitmatic shocks. makes ALL the difference with the ride. No comparison
Love this truck!!!
First comment.
Don't forget it, Ben!👍🏻😉
I nearly bought this exact same truck. But thankfully I did another day of research and saw they had the ZR2 with power running boards, same color, for $2k more. Bought that instead
Wish they had a FULL sunroof like the Ford. Allay ZR2 looks way better
Better looking than the 2021 that one was ugly up front this is better looking
What... The... Hell is up with the side mirrors?
What paint color is this?
2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Heavy-Duty LTZ 6.6L Duramax Diesel Allison 10-Speed Automatic Z71 OFF-ROAD Sport Special Edition Crew Cab 4X4!
I bought my 2020 Denali Duramax brand new for 70K. MSRP was $78,400 You think these new trucks are worth 10-20-30k more? I see nothing that would justify that increase. We are being ripped off along with high interest rates.
damn this truck looks good!
85k!!! Sure. Let me right you a check! My Gosh!!!
85 THOUSAND!!
That is a beautiful truck
Looks the best
Thst is a good looking truck
This guy has to be High. The LTZ is no where close to the ZR2 the only thing in common is the Name Brand and the Color.I have the ZR2 HD and if you build the LTZ Z71 package it’s only about 3k more for the ZR2 HD and you get upgraded suspension, lift, A arms, and lockers. You can’t add all of that yourself for 3k. The ride is totally different the ZR2 HD is way more comfortable with the multimatics then the LTZ Z71 with the Rancho’s.
How does it compare with payload and towing though?
@@gdub350I've only tied about 5k with mine so far, but suspending works better with a load. Nothing like the ZR2 Multimatic DSSV suspension.
@@gdub350 i tow a lot with mine i have towed 14k for 3 hrs running 70-80 and it does awesome. But the ride with or without a load is amazing. The ride comfort is as close to a 1500 as you will find. I replaced a LTZ Z71 with a Duramax with the ZR2 HD and i can’t name one thing i liked better about my old truck
@@jonathanromero2333 How are the seats in the ZR2 compared to the LTZ? I know my '20 Denali 2500 seats are hard a a rock. Seat bottoms are short and narrow too. Congrats on the ZR2!
Yes
85k for something that’s worth nothing in 10yrs is ridiculous. You start losing the second you drive off the lot and they sell like hotcakes.
What's the color called?
Slate Grey.
What’s the name of this new color?
Slate Grey
That color...
Not close to a zr2, different suspension.
6.6 L come on not enough, Im waiting to this companies to make 10 litter engine it will be supper cool lol😂
Vs ford f450
$80K for a manual adjusting steering wheel?!
Why did they make the side mirrors so ugly….. just put them back where they were ..
Nice truck but around hundred grand.better have a good job to afford cars nowadays or buy one don't pay on it and the government can bail people out like housing
This color tho
❤❤❤❤
$85,000 for a damned truck. smfh
Junk
Which one do you have?
No one can afford these trucks.
Someone can because I meet them on the road every day.
It’s not about the total price, it’s what they can do monthly, and even my idiot self is like “maybe I can manage 1300 a month”
@@gdub350yup. I debate the monthly payment in my head as well.
Brand Used! 😂
What was the MSRP
5 million
