I was gifted a Pelikan 800 that had been left inked up in a drawer for over 15 years. The nib has an italic grind and had been owned by a scientist who is no longer with us. It’s solid black with gold trim. It cleaned up beautifully w/o any problems. It’s kind of a Goldilocks pen. So fortunate to have it. The brand was not on my radar. The build quality and the feel of the piston is the best I’ve ever come across. It doesn’t surprise me that you are a Pelikan fan! So glad you had fun.

I'm very sad, because the Atlanta Pekikan Hub was cancelled because of the damage caused by Helene.(Venue was without electricity) I really like the PH because I see people that I only see (once a year) at PHs. No chance of rescheduling, because the Hub Master is busy on weekends until January. So I am currently looking forward to the Pekikan Hub 2025. And I'll see some of the PH people at the Atlanta Pen Show, April 2025. The Pelikan 800 was my first "nice" fountain pen, bought in an actual brick and mortar store in about 1995. I still have this pen and still love it. Oh! I have that Mag 600. I often put SBRE Brown (Akkerman) in it --- A great pen. I love Alt-Goldgruen. I currently have it in an Estie Rainforest with a scribe nib.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Alt-goldgruen ink! :) I will be inking it up in one of my Leonardo pens lol! Jealous of you both for having this beautiful Mag600 with the fiery resin. Also, so sorry to hear about your hub getting cancelled due to the hurricane. That's such a big bummer, but I hope you are all safe!
@@KenchanKrafts I'm OK. Lost power for a while. Overall almost 12 inches of rain dropped on Atlanta in 3 days, so areas prone to flooding did in fact flood.
I would’ve loved to have gone to the Pelikan Hub in my area, but Hurricane Helene hammered us that day, and we just got power back less than an hour ago, after a four-day outage. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to go to one! Pelikan is high on my wish list of pen brands I’ve not tried yet.
Oh no, Ursula. I'm glad you're doing OK, prayers to all those who were affected by Hurricane Helene. Let's hope next year's hub will not be interrupted by anything. I was once in your shoes having never tried a Pelikan but everyone around me talks so well of them. Excited for you to try one soon!
Big thank you for sharing your Pelikan Hub experience. I especially enjoyed the footage of the event itself. I only recently learned of the Pelikan Hub, and it is wonderful that Pelikan makes the effort to engage with its customers.
I'm glad you enjoyed the footage of the event! My camera is so old and bad but the place wasn't too well lit so the quality looked poor but it still captures the memory :) So I'm happy you appreciated that! I truly love Pelikan for being so engaging and generous with their fans. Free ink of the year is no joke - such a nice way to give back to their community! I hope you'll be able to attend one next year!
I don’t know where one would have been close to me in rural Kentucky 😂😂😂 love seeing these meet ups and pen shows on your channel. I am contemplating getting a m200. The gold nibs are out of my price range.

I loved the Pelikan Hub in Boston. I brought my Pelikans with me as well, but I did bring my newly brought to life, by JJlax Visconti HS Dark Age and everyone loved loved loved it. What I loved the most is the sheer love of fountain pens and inks. I managed to swatch all the Pelikan inks. Someone brought so many purple inks it was amazing. I finally got to play with a grail pen..... Pelikan is and will always be in my heart for doing this.
I had a great time too! It was good to see you there! Everyone was so nice, and I enjoyed seeing and trying lots of pens.
Ooo, which grail pen did you get to try? Was it a raden M1000 or a Toledo? And that's so awesome you had a similar experience with bringing a Visconti to the hub! :D very nice! Happy to hear your hub in Boston was a great success, too! Pelikan has my love and support for the efforts they put forth for the pen community!

@@KenchanKrafts Montblanc Jane Austen. It is such a beautiful pen. It is such a beautiful pen but it's just out of my reach. As much as I love it, I can't justify the cost. As for Pelikans, I am debating on the Red M800. I want it in a BB if I can find one. It was a very fun night.

bummer I thought it was only for peeps who had Pelikan pens, so I did not even think about going to the one near me.... Next year for sure lol. Glad you got to go and meet new peeps and share your Visconti xx
Sorry I didn't make this video sooner or before so you'd know for this year XD but definitely you should go next year! Everyone who signs up gets a free ink and I don't think there's really a maximum or cap for how many can sign up for each city. Usually cities are determined if there are enough people near the area who sign up, so be sure to sign up next year! :)
