3 Munros in Glen Dessary

- We had a fantastic 2 nights camping in the van to climb the 3 Munros in Glen Dessary, Sgurr na Ciche being the highest and the last of the day. The weather forecast was uncertain with rain to start our walk but as we made our way off the 1st Munro the cloud and rain cleared with a fine end to the day becoming progressively better as we walked along the ridge. It was a long, tiring day but well worth the long drive up the single track road at the side of Loch Arkaig. We followed the Walk Highlands recommended route and returned a different way coming through the forest, passing A' Chuil bothy and walking part of the Cape Wrath trail. Midges were horrendous but none on the higher ground.
My videos are not intended to be an exact guide to any hill, mountain or low level walk that features in the video. I don’t cover every aspect of the route, terrain or difficulties.
Please refer to walkhighlands.co.uk or the book by the SMC, The Munros - Hillwalking Guide, for detailed walk descriptions.
Stay safe out there and enjoy! 😊
Amazing!! My sons and I visited Loch Arkaig in June but we will be going back as soon as we can and will follow this walk. Looks stunning and worth the effort
Thanks Richard, it was a fantastic walk. 👍
fantastic video Linda, thanks for sharing your adventure. these 3 are still on my to do list, hopefully catch them next year.
Thanks Gordon. Hope you’re good. 👍
Thanks Linda. Looking forward to heading to Glen Dessary in May
Enjoy Iain, lovely Glen & hopefully you’ll avoid the midge in May. 👍
Great video, 1st time to your channel, subscribed.
Thank you. Hope you enjoy. 👍
Hi Linda. Enjoyed this wee movie. Planning to do same walk tomorrow. I'm pretty sure you're the same person who found my wallet on or near The Saddle in Kintail last summer. If you are, then thanks again!
Yes Philip, that was me. Glad you managed to get the wallet back safely. It’s a small world. These are great mountains, take your time & enjoy. Hope the weather’s good & midges scarce! 👍
Some great views Linda, very atmospheric filming what a great day. I would recommend Mountain Bikes even if for a few Kms, a welcome seat for tired legs on the walk out.
Thanks Rich, a bike would have been useful but it was a pleasant walk back through the forest in the sunshine. I’ve probably forgotten how long it was though. 👍
Just watched your wee trip Linda. Looking forward to doing these hills. Looks like plenty of camp spots up there! may try an overnighter there! cheers for sharing. Paul.
A' Chuil bothy is a good option too. We passed it on our route back down the glen. Good camping spots beside the bothy. 👍
@@LindaOutdoors Cheers Linda!

Went to do these hills last year , hit a deer on the way up the roller coaster road and the bonnet was pushed up the screen. 15mph at the most as it was late at night , back next week to do the 4 , did Gairich a month ago and the weather was excellent , nae sna,😅
That is some road! Hope you get good weather and can enjoy the views from Sgùrr na Cìche. Good luck next week. 👍
