What a great place to do your first summit camp, beautiful sunset and sunrise. These where my very first two Munro's some 15 years ago, I've never returned but quite fancy a summit camp after watching your video. Hopefully you manage a few more.
Linda. Brilliant! Really liking these new videos. Thank you for bringing us a long - great pace to enjoy the video. When I saw you pour that “wee” dram I thought you’d be singing!! Well done and more like this please. 🙏
That was a lovely wee video Linda, ive watched a few and they all have a relaxing theme to them..i have enjoyed that a lot. Your passion for the outdoors shines throughout your videos, really nice to see. 😊😊😊
What a beautiful night you had up there and a cracking sunrise. That's great that you faced your anxiety and just went for it. I often find the hardest part of going up a mountain is leaving the comfort of the house. But we never regret it once we're up there.
@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking thank you Jim. It was an amazing night, couldn’t have asked for better conditions. Hoping to do more summit camps. There’s something really special about spending the night on a mountain. 👍
Well done to both of you on your first summit camp, really did look special, pleasure to watch your vlog, its years since i walked there myself but remembered it well while watching. 🙂
Hi Linda, the two four season tents I bought were a Kuiu storm star and a Hilleberg Unna . There's so much to choose from. Out of those two I'd say the Storm Star is far more planted and reliable in windy conditions. Maybe a tad on the heavy side at 2.7 Kg but if the hike isn't too long it's worth carrying the wee bit extra weight. The Unna is 2.3Kg and as you'd expect from a Hilly the quality is spot on . I bought it second hand but it's hardly been used😊. It came with a footprint and two sets of poles so if doubling up the poles it's very reliable. Cost £550 which in Hilleberg terms is a bit of a bargain. Happy hiking.
@@colinmarsh5955 thanks Colin. My son has a Fjallraven Abisko 1 lite. Waiting to see it pitched to see if it’s big enough for me & Brora. Will have a look at the ones you suggested too. 👍
Hi Linda, so this is really the first video I have seen where my passion for Munros has returned after my Tibia Plateau Fracture this time last year on Mam Sodhail (my 200th Munro).
That was as near a perfect mountain camp as anyone will be lucky enough to achieve. I'm kinda going along the same path as yourself. I finished my Munros last May and just can't keep away from the outdoors. I bought a couple of tents and have started to wild camp on the tops. I've had 6 camps so far and love it. Like your idea of a wee whisky 😂. Happy hiking and camping , the heavy rucksack certainly takes a while to get used to😢but I'm sure it'll get less noticeable as time passes 🤜🤛
Thanks so much for watching. Thinking of buying a 4 season tent that’s a bit better in the wind. The MSR is great but a bit drafty & vulnerable in winds. Would love to summit camp a bit more. Congrats on compleating too! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When choosing my tent one of the most important necessities for me was the Internal floorspace. I'm no spring chick and hate being crammed into wee ultralight tents. I also have a dog on the occasional outing. The Storm Star has a floor space of 29.5 square ft and 2 vestibules. The Nortent LY 1 ( just out ) seems to be getting rave reviews. Cheers 🍻
great video, that sunrise was awesome, that right there is why i go camoing all year round, also you have the happiest dog ive ever seen that tail is hypnotic lol
Ha, ha! Yeah, I guess she is super happy. Loves nothing better than being in the hills. 🐶 I’d love to camp all year but really suffer when it’s too cold especially my hands. Thanks for watching. 👍
Only came across your channel on your recent Southern Upland Way trip, you couldn't have had two better days for your summit camp, I love your dog Brora, is she a cocker spaniel.

Glad you like them. I had to edit out lots of talking after that large whisky 🥃 Was blethering a lot of nonsense! 😂
I think Brora could see that too! 😂😂
Guid walk bagging these two munros. Brilliant scenery and the drone video was fantastic. Last time we were up there it was blowing a hoolie.👍
