ALSO......Constipation! When the colon is impacted, fecal matter is actually poisoning the body! This triggers a sinus headache. The more impacted, the more severe the headache. I knew of a young mother who had suffered chronic constipation....usually caused by dairy foods.....who lay in a hospital bed for 14 DAYS with a headache medication couldn’t relieve. The doctors had given her up for dead and were calling in the family. When her grandmother arrived, she asked the nurses if she had had a bowel movement since she had been admitted. They searched her chart and found that she had NOT! Her grandmother immediately ordered laxatives be administered and went to work helping her clear her bowel. This mother of five is alive and well today because of the simple wisdom of an elderly woman with no letters behind her name who knew how the body worked!! Thank God!!!

  • @cvcoco

This is hot topic for me because ive had severe headaches for 60 years straight and have caused liver damage from decades of Excedrin, ibuprofin, pain killers. Not only did I have daily headaches but also a growing problem of really severe sharp pains on the left side of the head that used to last 1 second and then grew in length, frequency and severity. Not TIA, doctors had no idea but suggest brain surgery to explore the problem. I said no. THEN.....because of Berg's harping, in Aug 2019 i quit sugar 100%. Within a week, NO headache returned. None. Zero. I was quite astonished. Im allergic to sugar?? When the virus lockdown started, being so homebound, i started cheating as a coping mechanism. No heavy sugar, but a piece of bread here, a cookie there, a half a scoop of ice cream...... Within a week, headaches! Then I saw that a piece of bread per week, a handful of potatoe chips another week, two cookies another week, a forkful of spaghetti another week, no headaches, which meant I was staying under that bar if I cheated no more than one bad thing per week. If its 2-3 bad things, headaches come fast and there I am again on Excedrin or heavier. While everything on Berg's board may be valid, can fellow sufferers please first try ending sugar and report in a week or two? Lets test this amongst ourselves. Believe me, i feel your pain and want all of us painfree and especially medfree forever.

I have the same experience. One cheat in a week is okay, but more than that my headaches come back fast. That’s what I’m dealing with now. It seems that bar is very low for me. Also the first time I went keto, I had a low level migraine for 3 weeks. Then it was like there was a helmet around my head protecting me from headaches! It felt like my head was “solid” and not scattered. Like nothing could trigger the pain. Need to get back there. I had starting doubting my need to go so low carb but I guess I need it. I’m also worried about long term excedrine use as I had a CAT scan for something else and my liver was slightly enlarged but no other info.

I used to get a headache about 3 times a week in my early 10's through my late 30's. Through the years, I've learned all the triggers that caused my headaches, I lessened it to about once a month. For example, In the summer, just going inside the car (even for 1 minute) when it's hot caused me a headache. Luckily remotely starting a car is now built-in with even a cheap car alarm. Just have the AC on when I start the car. I never figured out before that staying late at night on weekends caused me a headache. Anyway, avoiding all those triggers lessened my headache occurrence.

I get migraines with aura. 100% of the time it triggers today is because I haven't eaten food for so many hours. When I was younger I also triggered migraines from eating sweets and fruit, so I stopped doing that, and by that I reduced my migraines from about 24 times a year to 0-2 times a year.. But fasting for me really doesn't work. This trigger is one of the most common triggers for migraine and I think you should have put it up there on the board. Especially since you are advocating ketos diet...
About eating sweets, I have discussed this with others who also get migraines and quite a few of them have the same experience as me with sugar, many first think it is chocolate, then after a few years they realize it is probably the sugar in the chocolate that is the problem, not the chocolate itself. How come no one in ever speaks of this? Not even migraine foundations. When I tell doctors about this they get that look in their eyes like I'm just guessing. But I know it is a trigger, because if I eat sugar after not eaten for 5-6 hours, the risc of getting a migraine is well above 50%.

suffered 6 years from headaches. the reason was gallbladder. no doctor was able to tell me the cause, they just gave medicines or painkillers.
i finally tried to track it down myself and it was a result of late night dinner or overeating. stopped those and all the headaches are gone.
have stopped to eat anything for 3hrs before going to sleep.
later i found this video and dr.berg describes 90% of the time gallbladder is the cause.
i m surprised most doctors don't tell this to their patients.

Certain parasites can cause headaches too. I would recommend just not eating meat or consuming dairy, because parasites love to feed on that kind of protein. So instead of feeding yourself, you're just feeding your parasites and this is why you still may feel hungry after eating.

    Hi Dr Berg,
Thanks for all the educational videos. I have food intolerance problems (histamine/tyramine). What I can't eat are canned products; all fermented foods; anything containing yeast, incl. B vitamins; spices such as cinnamon; cloves and mustard; tomato; eggplant; mushrooms; shellfish; anything acidic, such as lemon, lime, and yogurt.
After eating these products my intestines are sensitive at first and after a few days headaches to migraines start, depending on the amount I have eaten. After that it takes at least 2 weeks that I am tired.
Do you have any advice for me?

I do not like trying caffiene again today, and I want decafe at most. It was a while since I drank coffee. I also notice not eating grain fed or finished meat is changing my hunger completly. I can go without eating any amount of time after grass finished/fed, but not grain. Any amount of time is like not hungry or eating 3+ days until a neighbor offers a snack almost all month.

All I know is in nearly 3 years now since I taken or purchase a headache tablet for an actual headache, toothache yes but not a headache.
They used to be frequent, I have cleaned the diet considerable since then, its not full keto at all but ramping up protein fats and vegetables has helped, I sleep better now, no twisted and turning for an hour to fall asleep, out within 5 minutes.
Always have stress and am normal active so perhaps nutrients and diet are the biggest factor, it really was eat everything and anything before.

I have the strangest thing going on. After certain days when I eat, then somewhere around 45 mins later I start getting one of the absolute worst migraines. Then when I vomit no food comes up its just clear flem. Then the migrain goes away. At times this migrain will give me cold sweats and no migrain medicine works until I vomit. The Drs here tell me that the migrain causes me to throw up and its not me eating anyrhing thats causing the migrain. These migraines are taking over my life.
