    • @KrazyKATRecipes
      @KrazyKATRecipes  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching my video Angelica! You can substitute cow skins with pork skins if you can't find any cow skins. Some people don't even add any skins, it's mostly for texture. I hope you will like this recipe! 🙂

    Can I use beef tendons? Instead of cow's skin, I can boil the hell out of it for 3-4 hours in substitute of not getting any cow skin? Hmmm. so interesting but my desire came to a screeching halt when I saw the first ingredient. I live in Hawaii but have no idea where to find cow skin. Even at our local Chinatown I might be hard pressed to come up with this item. Is is dried? Frozen? The rest of the ingredients are easily sourced but cow skin......I'm not sure. Can you tell me what kind of dish this is? Cambodian? Thai? Vietnamese? I love cooking with tamarind sauce but to be perfectly honest, I've never heard of this dish. It seems very interesting and I'd be game to try it. Lots of layers of flavor. So it's a dip? Or a condiment? Sorry for so many questions but this is a dish I know my family would love to try.

    • @KrazyKATRecipes
      @KrazyKATRecipes  5 років тому

      Unless you went to a slaughter house or kill the cow yourself, or lived in a city where cow skin is highly sought after (due to big Asian population, especially of Lao and Hmong people) cow skins are very hard to come by, so finding it at your local Asian stores is unlikely. This pepper sauce is a Laotian sauce. Typically eaten with just sticky rice. 🙂

      Hi Angelica! Boil the pork skin for at least 15 to 20 minutes. You don't want to over cook it, because for jeow bong, you're adding the pork skin mainly for texture. And yes, you can freeze the cooked pork skin. 🙂
