Shout out Cherie...luv ya. Always great hearing from the Lore team. They all seem like great ppl. Give more for Cherie to say, don't hog all the politics, guys!
I get why Terra would be a good candidate for the Empire's capital but the Earth represents humanity's rise and achievements and is the original homeworld of the Empire's leading civilization.
Earth is and always will be the capital of human existence. Cutting ties with our past because of poor decisions is cowardly, we better ourselves and move forward 👍
Would be awesome to one day have a vocalised Galactopedia so we can learn about stuff while doing other tasks in game. Bonus points if Cherie does the voice (or a mix of the cig asmr voice talents :D)
Galactapedia was probably the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor. Not only is it a wholly remarkable book, it is also a highly successful one. More popular than "Celestial Home Care Omnibus," better selling than "Fifty-three More Things to Do in Zero Gravity," and more controversial than Oolon Colluphid's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters, "Where God Went Wrong," "Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes," and "Who Is This God Person Anyway?" In many of the more relaxed civilizations on the Outer Eastern Rim of the Galaxy, Galactapedia has already supplanted the great "Encyclopedia Galactica" as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least widely inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects. 1. It is slightly cheaper. 2. It has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover.
@Solve Everything According to a copy of Galactapedia that was recovered at the scene of a time travel incident, in which someone was trying to create an infinitely self filling bowl of Big Benny's noodles, it's content overtook Warhammer 40K on Feb 12, 2027 @ approx 2:17 AM.
I'm just curious, are the events of Squadron 42 so insignificant that it didn't change anything at all in the UEE? Or do the delays of it's release contradict the lore because it progresses in real time?
As I understand it Squadron takes place at a specific point in time and your character in star citizen is that character years later after they get out. Star Citizen itself does progress in real time, so it seems.
Squadron 42 is a 'fixed' point in time and now in the past of the current time line. For characters that do go through it it will be something that is at least a couple of years in the past (to allow for the fact that you MIGHT be very seriously hurt and need to fully recover).
@@Glacier1701 Yes I know all of that, that doesn't explain the issue that the events of Squadron 42 don't have an impact on the UEE at all. I know the rough outline of the story and it should have a significant effect on the Vanduul-Human war and the UEE. But the way the UEE is presented in 2949 doesn't make sense according to what happened in 2945/46 in Squadron 42. Makes sense?
@@hansyolo9649 Ok I see your point there. And to be honest that is indeed a concern. Not exactly sure how CIG is working things lorewise but I do know that some of this has been expressed to the Lore Team way back (2013/14) by a number of people including myself. CIG still has not come out and said what they are doing and I do believe its mainly for the same reason we haven't seen much of work done on SQ42 and that is they don't want to spoil it for us. It does seem to me, based on the very few and small things talked about so far that they do have something in mind and while I think SQ42 will be based in 2945/6 - Vega II - they still do have the option of 'retcon' and that as we move closer to release of SQ42 we'll see a ton more lore pushed out (something that was happening back in 2945/6 but then stopped as SQ42 stayed in production). The one thing that CIG/Lore team has done is to be remarkably flexible when pushing out lore since they have the entirety of the backer base acting as fact checkers (which has already pointed out some inconsistencies) and have not been that hesitant in issuing corrections or retconning stuff. By all means take to the RSI forums and express your concerns - you might shake something loose there. At the very least you'll be another voice added to the choir helping CIG make the BDSS by ensuring that the lore is well founded and not full of holes.
I gotta wait till next year to play this game this is the game I was waiting on from I was like 7 I'm such a fan I learnt about this last year but I don't have anything to play it on sigh 😔 buh next year hopefully I'm gonna play this game to enjoy the world I caaanttttt waaaiiitt hopefully
Funnily, I could hear him just fine. Maybe that's why he didn't move closer. The stagehand probably just wanted it to be perfect. And you should probably not talk to the person and ask them to move closer to the mic. The stagehand chose the less disruptive method.
moving the capital from Earth to terra is preposterous. it's called the UEE United EARTH Empire not terran empire. those are the evil guys with the beards.
Building a regular planet would be a massive waste of resources that they could have used to build a vast amount of O'Neil cylinders. Unless you want to build a matrioshka shell world or can utilise blackholes for gravity. And we would have had generations of people who grew up in orbital habs or completely off world before we crack ftl.
Can we get a Tevarin imperator candidate? I’d vote for one. As long as they weren’t super bigoted against humans or are pro separation of the empire. 😝
The Synthworld project sounds kinda familiar, hrhrhr. 27:48 If you cannot spell it, you aren't one. 😜 40:20 So just like real-life Western democracy. 😄 CIG using player-run wikis is a beautiful two-direction collaboration. These things make it a community project. 48:06 Jared is a total populist. 😆 52:22 NEVER FORGET THE CUP OF COFFEE OF 2949! Bounties for people who didn't return their books - great stuff! 😄
Would it be unreasonable to ask for an omnibus of the "Community" footage - i.e., various interviews from the show floor (seen on Twitch), including Jared's couch chats and the Cosplay Contest?
Aww, poor Dave. Those jokes were solid, the delivery was just off. Good job tho, speaking in front of a ton of people is hard, great presentation by all
And what EXACTLY changing the capital place will achieve, other than inconvenience, security risks and MASSIVE totally unjustified expenses? Those money would be better spent elsewhere, rather than to make Terrans feel great. Imo Transitionalist party's ideas are populistic bullshit. It does not matter where your capital is. What matters is how well your government is organized. Even if Terra becomes capital without bloodshed and revolts outbreaking throughout the Empire, even if Terran government will be better than the one UEE has on Earth, for how LONG will it remain such? I mean, it's easy to play angels in heaven, when you don't need to actually govern anything, but if they get into power - it will become the same, maybe even worse. And keep in mind that when I say "them" I mean people from the entire Empire. I really doubt that the entire government of the UEE consists mostly of Earthers. So, even if the capital will be moved to Terra, you'll have the same old people from Earth and other systems making decisions. So, other than a lot of money changing hands, what else changes?
@@shaftoe195 agreed, also what is so controversial about repaying society for the help it has given? It has a long history, even some of the most progressive nations of old earth, like Germany had a system of pay into the system or get nothing. And such rules were only adapted, after people who had never payed in tried to Take advantage of this country's system. Compared to that, the measure proposed by the High Secretary is much more lenient and humane, as No one in need will be turned away Not their Families Forced to pay for them.

I really love the lore team. Just listening to them talk always brings a smile to my face.
What a cool way to involve the community. That would be great if they could even get community candidates in the future as well.
"Stop shooting my ship! You can have my cargo!"
"I'm not here for your cargo, you have late book fines..."
Robin Porter this is so underrated
The passion that is put into this project even extends beyond the game itself I've seen AAA games but never a AAA website
I get why Terra would be a good candidate for the Empire's capital but the Earth represents humanity's rise and achievements and is the original homeworld of the Empire's leading civilization.
It's also too close to the front line systems in our war with the Vanduul. That's a big part of why they want to move the Capital.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?
I would like to know less.
Nice Starship Troopers reference. :D
Cherie is the librarian NPC we want on the Ark. Plus she looks great!
Earth is and always will be the capital of human existence. Cutting ties with our past because of poor decisions is cowardly, we better ourselves and move forward 👍
I love this game and the future looks bright
Will we have an npc rumour mill? So when we hit the bars or outpost we can pick up hot tips and false leads.

i look to the destablization of the UEE. in an attempt to create a player led independent faction

Tell that to Google.
Please do not move the Empire's capital to Terra! It has to stay on Earth no matter what!
