I have a three tier cube organizer right next to the doorway for shoes and on top is a cute handmade basket for sunglasses and keys or whatever needs to be dropped. This has been a huge success:)
Love the suggestion of a basket for shoes in the entryway! I have shoe racks but the shoes never make it there until EHAP, so I just put a small laundry basket by the door to catch shoes as they come in before they get spread out all over the floor!
Our boot tray is successful. Every few days the shoes get actually put away 😅 I like that you emphasized that the living room is actually for living!

I’m going to try Mystie’s suggestion of observing the patterns of my people to see if I need to change systems already set up so they may work better.
