@@ros8986 i think something similar to this when i start to accumulate too many belongings. like god i feel so weighed down and trapped, i need to get rid of some things to feel like i can 'travel lightly' again (even though i'm not moving haha).
For those clothes that are really for trash bins we repurpose it as a rag to use for the kitchen or for cleaning the house. Less waste for the environment and it now have a new purpose.
Also some countries (like where I live) have recycle bins for material/clothes, that can't be donated. They then go to processing for fibers to make new clothes etc
I really appreciate decluttering videos that aren't just one timelapse after another, this was really refreshing! I also liked having a couple of items shown as details behind your thought process, instead of talking through and justifying every item that's being decluttered, which really bogs down most decluttering videos i come across these days. Really paid attention to your editing and loved the whole video!
Thank you so much for the feedback and lovely comment! I actually filmed a few more timelapses but ended up leaving them out so it started to feel repetitive haha so I'm glad to hear I made the right choice!
I started decluttering my flat for the very first time and i noticed how many clothes i have in multiple forms. I literally have like 5-6 white t-shirts. And i realized "Why girl ?! Why do you have the same exact thing in so many copies ?" It was crazy how much i've accumulated in 30 years. Getting rid of it all makes me feel so much better !
The feeling after decluttering is just awesome. I have decluttered my room over the weekend, put everything in the boxes, itemized each box on the spreadsheet, label it and put it in the garage. Now if I want something I can just look it up on my spreadsheet and go get it.
my biggest hurdle while decluttering is as i live with my parents, my things outside my room are mixed with theirs and of course i cant declutter others' belonging :") but this video gives me motivation to try again, tackling all my stuff then the household stuff (battery, extra plant pot etc) anyway i'm glad i discovered your channel 😊
Ahhh it's definitely more challenging when it's mixed with others belongings but starting with your room sounds like a great start!! Maybe it'll inspire your parents to get involved and you can declutter your shared space together ☺ I'm glad to have you here! Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
Hi, I'm 74. Loved your video, I try to get rid of 20 items each day: give away, recycle, or trash. 3 of us are in a 2BR apartment near Chicago. Tina, Al's wife
I love that you mention Peter Walsh :) He was one of the people that introduced me to decluttering. A tip for everyone that are doing pile decluttering (putting everything in a pile) is try to take out the "yes!" keep first :) it reframes you brain to look for items you enjoy and not just look at items that have a use. I find it sometimes help when I feel stuck. Good job on the decluttering :)
First time viewer...Great video. Love your visual addition to the videos and your commentary. I'm going to use your "don't overthink it" as a mantra while I'm decluttering my last 2 and worst rooms that I keep avoiding. Thanks for your help!
That you used several different methods is interesting. And I think those items that make you more thoughtful in your own giving make a big difference in your life and the lives of your family and friends. We go for experiences more than stuff. My sisters and I have a pact that we give each other something hand crafted instead of purchased. The hand crafted component makes the gifts much more meaningful. My closet is out of control, made worse by the fact that both my hubby AND myself are hoarders of a kind. And now that he's gone, I need to go through so much stuff and decide what will happen to it. But as I told a friend, I think about doing it and come up with a plan and in thinking on it, part of my brain feels like it should be completed. Uck.
I think you have to be careful about the hand crafted instead of purchased rule. It could be that you're all really into crafting and making things and you all like the type of things each other makes , in which case, that's great. On the other hand, if you're going to be putting yourselves under a lot of pressure trying to come up with ideas for the perfect meaningful handmade gift and feeling obliged to hold on to things forever that you don't particularly like because it was handmade by your sister, that can be as much of a burden as feeling the need to buy stuff just because you have to get someone a gift.
It's important that we have a realistic idea of what's happening. Often people persuade themselves that it's not a problem if they buy lots of cheap clothes that they only wear once because they'll be "recycled" when in actual fact there's a high chance those clothes are going to just be added to the piles already dumped in places like the Atacama Desert in Chile.
Everything about this video is so calming - Your voice, the editing style, music etc. Instant subscribe from me! :) Now I want to declutter instead of going to work lol
Best decluttering video ever!!! So satisfatory and clear! So many of these types of videos are ppljust rambling things and making no sense just to make an excuse to purchase more items - not yours though. Thumbs up 🌟
Just to clarify -- I was six years old when we had to move away, a close family friend took our dog in, where she lived a long happy life (14 years in the country side of Japan) and I got to go visit her when I was older a few months before she passed :')
My question for my deculttering is "what is the wrost that can happen if I give this away?"
I love that simple question! I know a lot us get stuck thinking "but I might use it later" so that's a great way to counter that. Thanks for sharing!
@@wegofilm As for simple - I love "the things you own end up owning you" movie Fight Cub (via Fumio Sasaki's book "Goodbye Things")

🙇🏻♀️❤️ most of our clothing went to donation but I kept a few pieces and socks to use as rags!
Really enjoyed this and I LOVE the editing. I'm subscribing right now!!

It's so satisfying to watch and I am so happy that the algorithm finally recommends creators with less subscribers. You inspired me to declutter too!
I'm glad you're here too! It was definitely satisfying to edit as well. I hope you have fun decluttering ✨✨

This is so well edited! I want to declutter my place now 😅

AWH THANK YOU HUNTER!! Music was fun to play around with on this one 🎶
Next time you can textile recycle your throw away piles, shoes and towels included. Those items will get turned into new items
Thanks for the suggestion!! I’ll check to see if there’s any textile recycle places on O’ahu 🙏🙏
Where would you donate those? Like H & M?
@@mariarodriguex1187 yes that’s a good option. They also give you a discount on a future purchase if you donate there

YOU GOT THIS!! Three piles worked best for me -- keep, donate/give away, throw away (or use as rags)
'When we dumped off our dog' tf, ew.
'We had to get rid of our dog'. NO! You made a selfish decision to get rid of your dog.
