Double Rainbows, wind, rain, squalls, rope in the propeller, new top speed, this passage had it all and we loved it all. You feel alive when your heart is beating.
Cairns to an overnight anchorage at the Low-Isles then on to Cooktown the next day, we are moving rapidly north now.
We take a day off in Cooktown and spend the day exploring this tiny remote town where Captain James Cook spent some time repairing his ship "Endeavour " after hitting a reef south of what is now Cooktown.
Thanks for watching.

Really nice to see you more and more comfortable sailing on Trade Runner :)
Loving your journey.. great hat… avoiding teethy stuff sound!
Thanks for watching!
Wouw what an amazing view at 13:00 beautiful to see a house or 2 popping from the trees, and then you pan to the right and it showed its a huge bay, what a paradise!
Yeah a really cool place to sail to. would stay longer next time for sure
Impressive that you saied your cat in 19.4 kts! Keep up your great work with your videos allowing all of us be part of your sailing adventures 🙌
Thank you! A few years ago I could never have dreamed of going almost 20kts in my own sail boat. Pretty incredible really
Love your work, another great video, Vern.
I appreciate that
Marie would have loved the coconuts😘.
I guess by now you're on your way to be with her.. All the best with everything 😎
yes she would have. 🙏
Oh yes, I am missing green coconuts !
The newer tracking radar looks like a great tool for a boat especially single hander👍👍
It really is! Between the Radar and AIS Id still say the AIS is the more vital thing to have
Have you got anywhere you break down the costs? Including the cost of the cat at all?
I don't think it works like that. Vern has had 3 boats since I have followed him, and each is an upgrade on the previous, but he'll probably tell you that.
We did do a video in 2021 about our cruising costs in Indonesia. We dont keep a track of our expenses in any great detail really. If the bank balance is low we stay away from towns, thats about it.
Glad you've been watching that long! Yep, each boat has been an upgrade, not because I have more money its just that as I get more experience I feel I cam handle a better, bigger, faster boat.
Ripping along. 😀
Yep, all the way to Lombok
Trade Runner is flying along mate !! Fair Winds
She's a ripper
Great video as usual :) Love those batfish! It's great how they get used to boats feeding them. Glad you managed to get some fresh coconuts too :)
Thanks 👍
Perfect!
The free coconuts were a good find. 😋 I love history, too. I'm glad you took the time to go ashore and visit this historical site. Love to Marie. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks mate, nice place Cooktown, will spend more time there next time
Cool 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing your adventures
Our pleasure!
You probably stressed the stern shaft bearing and gearbox. Please stop the clunker and clear it as soon as you notice any impairment.
Stressed my clunker
Great stuff mate.
Much appreciated
Those Ocean & Earth hats are easily the best for sailing in killer sun. They are the only hats with a stiff enough brim at the front and a strap for when it's windy
Yeah I wish Id have brought 2 of them. Found it randomly in a surf shop in Yamba.
