Double Rainbows, wind, rain, squalls, rope in the propeller, new top speed, this passage had it all and we loved it all. You feel alive when your heart is beating.
Cairns to an overnight anchorage at the Low-Isles then on to Cooktown the next day, we are moving rapidly north now.
We take a day off in Cooktown and spend the day exploring this tiny remote town where Captain James Cook spent some time repairing his ship "Endeavour " after hitting a reef south of what is now Cooktown.
    Thanks for watching.

The newer tracking radar looks like a great tool for a boat especially single hander👍👍

It really is! Between the Radar and AIS Id still say the AIS is the more vital thing to have

Have you got anywhere you break down the costs? Including the cost of the cat at all?

I don't think it works like that. Vern has had 3 boats since I have followed him, and each is an upgrade on the previous, but he'll probably tell you that.

We did do a video in 2021 about our cruising costs in Indonesia. We dont keep a track of our expenses in any great detail really. If the bank balance is low we stay away from towns, thats about it.

Glad you've been watching that long! Yep, each boat has been an upgrade, not because I have more money its just that as I get more experience I feel I cam handle a better, bigger, faster boat.

Great video as usual :) Love those batfish! It's great how they get used to boats feeding them. Glad you managed to get some fresh coconuts too :)

The free coconuts were a good find. 😋 I love history, too. I'm glad you took the time to go ashore and visit this historical site. Love to Marie. Thanks for sharing.

You probably stressed the stern shaft bearing and gearbox. Please stop the clunker and clear it as soon as you notice any impairment.

Those Ocean & Earth hats are easily the best for sailing in killer sun. They are the only hats with a stiff enough brim at the front and a strap for when it's windy

Yeah I wish Id have brought 2 of them. Found it randomly in a surf shop in Yamba.
