@@bernardobastos5996 Obey him submissively. What? He'd clearly brought an army of demons, which had been slaughtering the population of entire cities no so long ago, into the city. Knowing what his creatures can do the average armed soldier unversed in the ways of slaying monsters you'd have to be either mad or foolish to provoke him unnecessarily.
@@Sweet_Venom0027 Ah, so you'd be terrified on his creatures. You'd have every right to, because they're part of Dracula's army and want to end all humanity. They want to kill you and eat you, not necessarily in that order. They want to do the same to your sons and daughters and wives.
Yet Isaac drags them around into population centres, acting like he's done nothing wrong and then pretends to be the victim when he's asked to leave by guardsmen that are doing their fucking jobs.
Open your god damned eyes, Isaac is not the victim of this situation... the fault falls on him and him alone.
I loved watching this for the first time, not even realizing how much incredible dialogue was in store for me.
Well, when your show is written by Warren Ellis....
I love hearing the Captain Talk. His accent is so exotic.
Unless you live in Jamaica
Ha. I'm a Jamaican-American. Heh. People sure think we talk funny I guess.
@@e.m.p.3394 I personally think Jamaicans' English accent is very interesting and badass. Though I'm not sure why other people would think it's funny.
@@arujofied Well there is a difference between our accent and Dialect. I have an American Accent but I can speak Jamaican Patois. Which is our dialect.
@@thomastakesatollforthedark2231 Jamaica wasn't discovered in the 1476.
Isaac: shows up with his monsters
Captain: I have no fucks left to give, you coming on board or what?
The coins were just a formality- The Captain's massive steel balls are already worth more coins than Isaac's entire demon army could even carry
Issac: We gonna eat you
Captain: Nah.
Issac: Understandable, please lead the way.
Captain: You will pay me for not killing us.
Isaac: Understandable. Have a nice day.
I love that not only did he save his crew's life and possibly the entire human race, he got paid for it by demanding the forgemaster with an army behind him to give him money.
Isaac: Regaining his faith in humanity and becoming a (sort of) good guy.
Everyone else: suffering
Its quite paradox, he killed so many people in his life, yet I cant help myself but to think he is a better person than most at the end.
Issac’s encounter with The Captain is one that may help shape his future, to potentially turn away from destroying humanity and adopt a new path.
For The Captain, it was another interesting experience to cure his boredom
Issac tried to intimidate, Roles a nat 1, The captain counters with persuasion, roles a nat 20, follows with insite, roles another nat 20, Makes an offer with more persuasion, roles another nat 20.
Never EVER underestimate the power of a high Charisma stat and good roles.
There is no critical success and failure on skill roles.
So captain probably has such high stats that he is very good at convincing.
@lorekeeper dms still allow crit wins and crit losses
It's just some flavor that rewards dumb luck
Horde of Night Creatures that just slaughtered a port town because some guards insulted their master
The Captain is not impressed, you got coin you got a ship
Haaaah
“Look at me, I am still the captain now”
I like how sailors don't even question. They probably expected it to end that way.
0:07 holy shit is that a pineapple demon lol
Now my head is filled with images of Isaac sticking his magic knife into a bunch of rotten fruit and reanimating them
Oh God SpongeBob's house was really a fish demon boi
I can't believe it. Castlevania predicted Bugsnax.
i once thougt it was a carrot.
I love this comment lol
Isaac was had the best parts out of everyone this season
Issac was the best, Hector's was second, Trevor's was third, and Alucard was last.
They were all super good though
Basically seasons 3 and 4 are more Isaac's story than anyone else's
The Captain’s Talk No Jutsu is over 9000.
I posted this clip here because I couldn't find it anywhere online and it's an amazing dialogue!
Thank you kindly
Yeah, it's great example of eloquence. The Captain is a man who lived in the mad world with hungry beasts and he is still alive.
Even in darkest times a brotha gotta help a brotha out.
Facts
The captain is such a chad he did all this shit without pissing his pants just because he was bored
Lance was such a great actor
RIP Lance Reddick😢-- “The Captain”
The Captain is cunning, deserved to be a legendary pirate
I could listen to the Captain for 10 hours straight. God damn that accent is awesome.
I could have spent an entire season on Isaac and the Captain, the Captain is by far one of my favorite in the whole show, and he was a temporary character....
God, I love their accents
One of the most important meetings in this series, literally changed the course of history. Fitting for a Captain.
He basically set in motion what Isaac would later become.
_"Sailing a boat can not be hard."_
_"If it wasn't hard, then why would sailors exist?"_ Well, can't argue with that logic.
Isaac : I want your ship. Also, I hate people.
Captain : Oh rly, you think you can sail it?
Isaac : I can sail it myself.
Captain : Sure you can. Can you navigate harsh tides, coordinates, unwieldy crews? Ships need captains, dumbass.
Isaac : ...Allright then, prick.
Captain : And your beasties will stay put aboard my ship. No murdering of the people you hate.
Isaac : Fine, fine. Let's go.
Captain : Not so fast.
Isaac : What now? You want to be tucked into bed by an actual Forgemaster, too?
Captain : Fuck you, pay me.
Isaac : *internal rage*
Captain : Let us shake hands - Safe travel for all to Genoa in exchange for coins.
Isaac : *virgin handshake*
Thats if both the captain and the forgemaster was trevor haha
“Those who with superior intellect, words are weapons.” Dr. Victor Von Doom
That Captain is the bravest man and probably the most smooth talking silver tongue ever to walk the world
Both Isaac and the Captain have very relaxing voices. Should use them for white noise machines to help insomniacs.
I was waiting for him to tell Issac that Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
. . .
OH.
Destiny.
Thanks drifter very cool
*Indeed*
Well that's because it obviously wasn't him who had done so. Now Isaac and his beasties on the other hand, whether they wanted it or not, they've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars.
What is your name, captain?
*Don't know. I am the captain now.*
Love the interaction between these two.
“Yes you are. You are offering coins for ship.” Bold af.
The captain was only in one episode yet he was such an interesting and wise character. I enjoyed watching every second he was on screen! 💯
Dang it I realllyy love how the characters sound like they really have emotion, not just some brain dead character being there doing this and that just because the story needs them to . Respect to all the the people involved in making this series. It is truly a masterpiece
It absolutely is
"You are a strange man" said the guy with an army of monsters he created.
Too be fair if I had an army of the dead and the man in front of me said
Ah finally entertainment
Yea no I would be more scared of the guy in front of me
Amazing video! Thank you so much for this! (Honestly this is one of my favorite parts of all the season) also! I was taken off guard when the captain started to speak because I was sure I heard him somewhere before.
I can’t belive Papa Legba would hunt me back in Castlevania.
(This is just me fangirling over Lance Reddick)
Rest in piece lance reddick
I came here to say RIP Lance Reddick I just found out he was The Sailor your Speech about humanity has been in my head since the debut
One of the best scenes in anime I love these scenes specially w/ Isaac and the Captain. It feels like chillin and relaxing to watch.
Man, commander Zavala really did drop a Weapons of Light on Isaac.
Gentlemen having a conversation
Isaac is anything but a Gentleman.
Bernardo Bastos I’d say Isaac is pretty gentlemanly unless you cross him.
@@Quinntus79 Cross him? Bruh, he butchers everyone who doesn't bow then to his idiotic whims. He's a psycho.
Bernardo Bastos He didn’t butcher the captain or his crew. He didn’t butcher the shopkeeper. He didn’t murder the witch. All people had to do was to treat him with civility. Instead they treated him like a monster, so he acted like a monster.
@@Quinntus79 The Captain took him to where he wanted. The shopkeeper helped him with what he wanted. The which pointed him towards a source of bodies so he could make more monsters.
What those people have in common is not treating him nicely, it's doing/giving him what he wanted.
If the captain had been as polite, yet refused to take him anywhere, as is his right, do you think he would still have spared him?
Holy shit, the guards didn't even attack him, they asked him to leave. Which again, is their right... since it's their city and they are allowed to not wanted Demons in it.
Take of your protagonist goggles off and actually look at things as they are.
Isaac is a bitter, murderous psycopath whod deserves nothing more than a morningstar whip to the face.
"Look at me. I'm the captain."
"A strange man and his demon army approaches you. He's threatening to kill you and your crew."
"I try to convince him not to kill me in exchange for offering him passage for wherever he wants to go."
"Alright. Roll persuasion."
*roll* "Nat 20!"
"...You not only persuade the strange man not to kill you or your crew, you actually manage to convince him to pay you for your services."
"Woo!"
This mans boat must be magic, too counteract the sheer mass of his gargantuan balls
You could, you surely could'I love the way he sounded!!!
The captain had no idea that his speach to Isaac saved far more lives than just his and the ones that were in his ship. Both in that day and in the long run
Drac def plays poker with him on the weekends
Out of fear of John wick Charon changed his job from Hotel Concierge to Sailor impressive. 😂😂😂😂😂
He didn't shoot John, Winston did.
@@JnEricsonx Still.
Is that Lance Reddick?!? That explains that silky voice
Nah, this was his ancestor.
Imagine the awkward situation between the crewmen and the demons sitting together on the boat
better yet imagine being pirates passing by and scoping out a target seeing the ship and just be like...."nah...lets look for another one"
Or a sailor that tries to start a conversation with a demon.
Sailor: So umm... What did you do..
Demon: growls
Sailor: A banker? That's interesting
Sailor 2: Jimmy lost it. He's talking to the demon
Sailor 3: Our captain allowed things that could rip us out onto the boat, and you think Jimmy's crazy.
"So...d'you guys like to play cards?"
"Grrorf?"
"Y'know...like Poker, Three-Card Monte, Jacks and Aces, Blind Man's Bluff, Keel Haul the Last Bastard to Reach Fifty...games like that?"
"GrrARRRLLL snarl snrrrk snrrrrk rurrrrgh!"
"This is shapin' up to be one long voyage."
One of my favorites scenes of the whole show. The captain survives by being calm, cunning, and most importantly respectful
"Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
"
"Lads we have guests"
*looks over and sees the small force of beasties boarding*
"Well fuck, the captains been drinking again"
2:05 Lads! Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars...
I must say, as someone who was nearly killed in a car hitting me by accident it is nice watching someone talk to someone else who might kill him but doesn’t simply out of interest in seeing what happens next, thanks for putting this clip up!
Refreshing to see an actual human act with hospitality and not only got paid but saved himself and his crew.
Isaac tried to be like "Look at me. I'm the Captain Now!" But the Captain be like "That's cute, I Like you, But I'm still the Captain"
this scene alone makes you want to speak in their accent.
_so freaking cool!_
The Captain was one of the best characters in this show. I need more conversation scenes with him lmao.
Lance Reddick has a 10/10 voice
RIP
When he’s not being a captain, he stepping into war with the Cabal on Mars…
The best parts of the season are all Isaac meeting various people and either getting to know them or mass murdering them.
The Captain is an MVP.
How did the ship stay afloat with the giant brass balls the captain was rocking XD
Incredible writing and voice acting. Got goosebumps
Best voice acting and love the scene.
I just love how this series makes hate, yet love the world at the same time
The true hero of this season, Not a man with magical powers or fantastical weapons. But a man with the strongest weapons of earth... logic and reason.
@sleeping bear Looks like somebody needs to have a long talk with the sea captain.
Little did Isaac know, he was about to step into a war with the Cabal on Mars
1:23 how i want to introduce myself when i'm old
I have this image of Isaac having to sheepishly tell his monsters to start turning out pockets, looting, and possibly coughing up corpses to check for more coins
When you maxed out intelligence, cunning and charisma all at once.
Feels fucking good to hear lance reddick's voice again, miss you commander
I instantly loved the captain in his first sentences
If you've spent time offering services, you'd know that there are worse customers out there than a leader of a pack of monsters. First impression is important, and Issac showed the captain he may be many things, but not unreasonable or snotty.
The problem with issac is he want people to treat him normally when he bring an unholy horde with him
But then again, if you have an army, wouldn't you expect to be treated with respect, fear even, given that you could end them at any moment? I'd just walk into the local bank and take all the money lol.
@@ZeroHelios46 the peasant folks may avoid him, but soldier cant, its their responsibility.
No king wish to see a stranger bring a carnival of death to just goes around his city. And this world is familiar with demon, night creature, they defend themself for a long time, Issac army just happen to be stronger and more organize than the wild monster.
one my fave scenes in this season. their conversation was amazing
That captain must have saw many things if he is that collected on meeting a forge master.
This is why you always need random counsel of y our old heads... The Captain has wisdom for the coins Isaac paid him.
