It is surprising how all these seem to be solid titles and are not just crappy rare games to have for bragging rights.
rorz999 Often I’ve found rare games for consoles came out toward the end of the consoles’ life cycle so the games take full advantage of the consoles’ abilities (making them good) but also because they came out so late they didn’t sell well because everyone was on the next console (making them rare).
I don’t know if it’s true Little Samson’s poor sales were because potential buyers assumed it was one of those bad Christian propaganda games from Wisdom Tree but it did come out in the US in 1992, a year after the SNES came out.
I have a suggestion, if you haven't already done it. The GBA has a ton of garbage licensed shovel-ware. Do a top 5 of the *best* of them?
If by best you mean actually good but unexpected then lilo and stitch is actually a pretty fun metal slug style run and gun

Nintendo developed a licensed video game called Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak. It is really good. Don't know if you can call it shovelware though.
The GBA is still a good console though, despite the shovelware. (BTW, When was the shovelware term first coined? 'Cause i'm curious.)

@@ripexthecrocogator4137 Personal computers had shovelware way before the Wii and DS made it common on consoles.
There are now and has been for a very long time those bins in computer and office supply stores filled with majong, poker, solitaire, tax return software, compilation discs of ancient games, poorly developed junk., etc...it started with the early/mid PC craze is my guess.
Also important to note that Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams was developed by Treasure (Gunstar Heroes, Mischief Makers etc.)! It's a really good game~

I actually have Ninja Five-O, so you must imagine the surprise I had when I realised this GBA Game I own turned out to be the RAREST GBA Title. Coolio!

Nope, it specifically says Scary Dreams, not Buster's Bad Dream.
Did the thrift store originally believe that it was a Rareware game? Because that's the ONLY logical reason why they sold it to you at THREE DOLLARS!!
This thrift store thankfully doesn't do much in terms of research. Unless they see something like Mario, most GB/GBA/DS games go for under $10.

one of my favorite things is looking for old games at thrift stores and pawn shops and stuff, so i love knowing about these kinds of games i wouldnt otherwise know about, let alone pick up if i see them for cheap somewhere. keep up the awesome work!!!

I used to work in a retro game store and had a copy of Tiny Tune Adventures Busters Bad Dream come in one day in a little haul of GBA trades.
Looking into it then at some point copies ended up appearing at bargain outlets like Ollie’s as well as on eBay.
It was a fun little title what I played to test the cartridge and I’m kinda pissed I never snagged it.

"best looking" is hard to pinpoint. The sprite work of Minish Cap is amazing. Impressive looking is different. In my opinion the most impressive looking game is Asterix and Obelix XXL. The 3d in the game could almost pass for a launch PS1 title.

I owned ninja five o for my entire life and thought barely anyone knew about it and played through it many times. In the last 3 years I bought a new game boy to play old games (I'm 24) only tonight did I realize I owned the most valuable Gameboy advance game in the world and I have no fucking clue where it is in my home.
I played Tiny Toons Buster's Bad Dream in a 88-in-1 Game Pak. It was one of my old favorites.
I had Motoracer Advance as a kid! I think i still have it somewhere.

I came across Tiny Toons: Scary Dreams at an estate sale. The seller was selling a box full of gba games for 20$ which included most of the Mario Advance games and a handful of other good titles. When I got home and looked through them all I found Scary Dreams and looked it up not realizing what it was. Needless to say I was shocked

Great video! the first two games might be rare because they were never released in europe/PAL, meaning anyone there who wants one will have to export one. or it could just be low print numbers.

Hey Nintendrew!
So I am not sure if anyone can help me, but there was this gameboy game I used to play. You play as two characters in the beginning, a girl with white hair who is pretty tall, and her younger brother who is a red head. They are very small, they can actually use bugs to fly and stuff. Its a side scroller. Its a puzzle game. There is one stage where you get to play as a third character, a princess in a stage called the wilderness. There is another stage ( one I have never passed ) where you get chased by a beetle. If this sounds familiar or if you think you can find it, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to find it over here.
