A user by the name of Forteblast remade the entirety of Super Mario Bros. Special in Super Mario Maker. So basically, you can (un)officially play Super Mario Bros. Special on WiiU
Hey all! Just a quick heads up. This video, just like half of all my uploads in the past 6 months, has been falsely flagged by the UA-cam bot as "not advertiser-friendly". This means that, until they get around to a manual review, the channel will not receive any ad revenue for views on this episode. If you have favorite content creators on UA-cam, please consider supporting them through outside platforms such as Patreon. Again, this is not a personal plea - there are many smaller channels that need your help more than I do. 😉 If UA-cam doesn't fix their faulty algorithms soon, your favorite channels might not be around for very long. Take care! Edit: Vid has been reviewed finally!
Nintendrew i've heard that you can upload the videos first (with private mode or whatever it's called when you can only see it with the URL) and when it's flagged you request a manual review
I could only imagine how mind-numbingly BORING it must have been to be on the team that created 'Mario Is Missing'. Great job as always, Drew! I had no idea about that original Mario remake on PC. Looks absolutely terrible haha
I can't even imagine. I had to play for more than an hour to reach enough areas to show off in this vid, and I never want to see Mario is Missing again. Haha
I kinda liked the SNES version. It wasn't hard at all once you got past the first few levels, and you've got Yoshi as a magic reset button if things go wrong.
If you dont wanna watch through: here they are: mario teaches typing one and two, super mario bros special, cdi mario, Atari mario bros, mario is missing, Mario's game gallery
Mario’s game gallery had some of it’s mini games added onto New Super Mario Bros for the DS, and the song was added too and I got hit by a wave of nostalgia
Hi Nintendrew 😊 I've recently stumbled across your channel, and especially since I love gaming (particularly retro gaming), your videos have provided a lot of entertainment to me. Which is especially good for me, with the disabilities and illnesses I have I often really need entertainment to distract and relax me. So, maybe it's an extra compliment that your videos help me with that? You've gained a new subscriber, anyway!
Still a better game than any Mario game on mobile. (And yes, I consider Mario Bros for the Atari 2600 to be better than Super Mario Run, I've always had a soft spot for Mario Bros though so maybe that's the nostalgia talking lol.)
That music when Mario's game gallery showed up sent a huge wave of nostalgia over me. I had never played that but i have definitely played the mini games in new super Mario bros DS that it used that music
Super Mario Bros. Special was also included in the flash fan game Super Mario Bros. Crossover, making the screen work just like the regular Super Mario Bros., with even difficulty variations and the ability to be played with other NES characters like Megaman, Simon Belmont and Samus Aran.
You left out Donkey Kong for the TI-99/4A. Notable for being (afaik) the only home port of DK to feature all four screens from the original arcade game. Most ports left out one or sometimes even more screens -- even the NES port only has three.
I had Mario bros for the Atari 2600, wow, that brought me back. There was a version of Mario bros for the Atari 5200 which was vastly superior but rare.
So I'm new to your channel, and I absolutely love what I've seen so far. Mostly seen the plug and plays, and a few others. Awesome content. My only suggestion is maybe some longer videos. Keep it up fammo!
I think what I like the most about Nintendrew's videos is that I'm always learning something new and cool with each upload. I had no idea that Super Mario Bros. Special game even existed. Overall, pretty neat stuff if you ask me.
Nintendo didn't develop them though, and technically a couple here they didn't develop so Nintendo will never recognize them- even if they're a raging success like Pokemon Go was in 2016, because they didn't make them.
Hudson was able to get the rights since they were one of first developers for the famicom and agreed to make games for them as long as they produced some of their NES games for their home computers.
wait, so hudson can make mario levels, a decent mario engline without nintendo's help, yet they can't even program THE TIMER IN THE CORNER TO BE IN SECONDS.
Listen when I say this.... Mario teaches typing was low key FIRE. We had a Macintosh in the living room and only had 3 games for it. This was one of them and I don't think it ever occurred to me that it was educational. The Mechanics felt so organic and it was so challenging and seeing the cool Mario characters on the computer felt so damn cool.

I have Donkey Kong for Atari as well. Love the history!
why no mention of the ports on the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad?
Well, I wanted to focus on the very first port for this vid - plus there's room for a part 2 or 3 😜 Thanks for watching, Larry!
Larry Bundy Jr Remeber Larry, the spectrum was a computer the yanks couldn't wank.
