Ah yes. Gummy bear's mini golf. Such a classic.
I prefer family game show over gummy bears mini golf but I know they are classics.
Thought it was that Gumibar?
@Micheal Kleyman You're right, no one gives a shit about a shitty hacking device on a DSi games video. Fuck your scam.
I am I am a gummy bear I am a gummy bear AAAAHHHHHH!
Gummy bear have a game. I have never hear the Gummy bear game.
Never realized DSi had exclusives. Doesn't look like I missed out on much. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
No.
Well it is kind of obvious. You don't want to make a game for a specific handheld when you could make even more sales with just a few less lines of code. There were however, some DSi enhanced titles. Games that work for both but have some extra features on the DSi. Being able to use the camera on the XTransceiver on Pokemon BW2, better performance on Sonic Classic Collections, etc. Thankfully, these were only minor additions and you could still enjoy the games to their fullest even with a normal DS.
Edit: Oh this covered in the video haha. Eh, just gonna keep this for archiving.
@we are the Badboyhalo fans Yes
just picked up a DSi recently for $40..i immediately watch these videos lmao
Yeah I agree I almost was going to get a DSI but I still loved my DS lite
I KNEW THERE WAS DSI ONLY GAMES, I THOUGHT I WAS MAKING IT UP...I CAN'T
i did too??? i couldve sworn i remember going and buying DSi only games but ??? my memory must be wrong,, my childhood was fake
The fact nobody I told believed me
here in Ireland, none were sold, not even the version of New Super Mario Bros. that was labeled as a DSi game (if that actually exists).
Jake Cunningham w
i know about them through the 3DS XL manual
Another thing to note with the DSi enhanced games like Pokemon Black/White: The DSi had better internet capabilities compared to the original DS. If you wanted to use WiFi that used security, it had to be WEP on the original DS. Over on the DSi, more WiFi security formats were supported like WPA-2 and enhanced cartridges could use these WiFi features. This was amazing to child me because it finally meant I could play online.
i never had a dsi,i guess i was lucky that i had a 3ds for gen5(i really liked that i was able to connect to the internet and it seemed rediculous to me that almost no game else could)
i tried connecting my dsi to wpa2 but it didn't work anyway i just removed password and then worked
any other ds games that were dsi enhanced?
this explains why I was never able to connect my ds for online play
@@emptyspotlight Korg DS10plus, while not a game but a music creation software, is a DSi enhanced version with some bug fixes from it's previous release, Korg DS10. It takes advantage of the DSi's enhanced hardware over the DS/DSLite and allows loading 2 saved songs simultaneously for some interesting mixing. It's functional in all DS family handhelds, but best in a DSi or 3DS for the enhanced mode.
Those white cartridges look wrong without the white tab on the left side that the 3DS cartridges have.
IKR
Totally I’m all like “we’re the tab?”
can you use them in 3ds
yes, nintendrew said that in the freaking video
I remember the 3DSs manual showing the color and shape of all the game types. DS black. DSi white. 3DS gray.
Holy crap, I remember back in like 2009/2010, I was talking with my dad and one of my uncles and for whatever reason we were talking about DSi games and I remember being told that they did exist and that they were white cartridges, but because I was 6 and had never actually seen one, I never knew if they were actually real and eventually concluded that they didn’t actually exist. Thank you for putting this 8 year old mystery to me to rest!
This made me remember when I was little and begged for a DSi. My main reasoning behind it was that I had this iCarly game that was just a bunch of minigames, and there were one or two minigames that needed a camera. It was so compelling to me because it felt like it was there, taunting me, begging me to play on a DSi. I did get one eventually, and the minigame(s) ended up being significantly worse than the others (and for an iCarly ds game, how good could the rest have been?), but I still loved that system to death anyways. What a trip down memory lane!
lol i got a dsi for the exact same reason only for another shitty simcity ripoff game which needed camera support for some reason.. only i didnt have the og ds before it so i guess its a bit different :D
Cavestory
I knew they existed - but they are even worse and less remarkable than I thought.
Alias Anybody They didn't look that bad for ds titles tbh. I personally wouldn't be super interested in them but that face raiders similar one and the monster one looked pretty decent.
I actually have Foto Showdown. It’s really fun, actually.
If you were fighting for the 2 dsi demo carts back in December on ebay sorry about that!
Pictobits for DSi is one of my favorite puzzle games and you can only play it on that. I hope they re-release in some form later.
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games
They released that on the 3ds eshop early on because I have it on my 3ds. It was so long ago that it might not be available anymore
The 3DS is compatible with DSIware titles and they can be bought from the eshop on the 3DS.
You can tell when it's a DSi game because it will appear in a white rectangle on the top instead of having a proper 3D model when selected and will run like a DS game, not using the full area of the top screen.
As far as I'm aware, it was only released as a DSi title, it just happens to also run on the 3DS.
you should check out asphalt 4
You know what other dsi game got on 3DS Warioware snapped
I remember playing Pictobits a lot and listening to the music in my spare time. Some of the stages got to the point where if you messed up even once, may as well restart. But the dark stages...those were *brutal*
Oh man, those all look painful to play! Thanks for the intel and video as always, Drew! Great stuff, man.
Smash JT They don't look THAT bad lol
I'm taking a liking to the hairstyle game. Don't tell anyone.
can you use it on 3ds
Haha oh yeah!
I KNEW I WASN'T INSANE
Why do you say that?
I am
@@quippits3201 because he knew that there were dsi exclusive games, but just couldn't remember any.
I didn't even know physical DSi exclusives where a thing! Pretty neat to see that they had their own unique packaging too.
My brother had one of the Skannerz when I was a kid and I loved it, but we lost it and I've been trying to figure out what the name of it was for years now!!! This is the last place I expected to come across it 😂
Kevin Bates My little sister still has hers.
If you like Skannerz you may also like Barcode Battler. It was much older toy with similar idea. But it was more difficult to use because you had to cut the barcode off and glue it to a piece of cardboard or paper to be able to scan it. Many Barcode Battler fans used to ruin plenty of things at their homes because they cut the barcodes off everything. :D
They did exist!
Holy crap
The Dark Boi Dank matter i have one
@@coastercrafter1productions300 he was talking about the games..
😭 and thus the DS collecting saga closes for Nintendrew! What a journey this has been!!! 👏👏👏
Who won??? Who's next?!!!!

Hey kevin!
so true alex the kid md1 then game boy for me.

YOU DECIDE!!!
I know it was a DSiWare title, but somewhat on topic I really want a sequel to Photo Dojo. I had a blast putting my friends in that game, creating battle backgrounds at my favorite places. That little game begs for a sequel, maybe with more fluent animation frames for fighters, custom music, and maybe even a story mode and enhanced multiplayer for long time repeatability!
Photo Dojo is king. So glad they rereleased it in the 3ds eshop
I remember waking up one morning to a commercial for it on TV, saying how it was free for a limited time. I downloaded it soo fast. All the time I had spent looking for free DSiWare games had finally paid off.
Bruh I just played it the other day
3:18 I have one more information for you that you do not seem to know: These "DSi enhanced" games like Pokémon BW have one more great option: Normally, DS games only can use wi-fi WITHOUT encryption or the unsecure WEP. With DSi enhanced games, on the DSi you could also use WPA and WPA2 encryption. :) ....... But as always: GREAT video, I only knew about one of these five games! Again, a superb quality video from you. :)
Neat
You could also use the cameras on the DSi in B/W (or maybe it was the sequels) when using the X-Transceiver with friends.
I remember shooting the shit at summer camp with this guy. Somehow the DSi was brought up. And I said something along the lines of "hey maybe the next one will be called the 'Nintendo 3DS' lol" "oh dude yeah and maybe it'll be actually 3d (popup) and be able to do 3d (64 bit) gaming better!"
"Yeah!"
When i saw it was announced I shat bricks
Pics or it didnt happen
Suuuurrre, and my uncle works at nintendo and i have smash 5
Miles Away lol my dude I just made a prediction that came true. Happens to everyone at one point
Thats super unrealistic. Why would someone guess the name 3DS when there were already 3 versions of the DS? (DS, DS Lite, DSi)
Miles Away because the dsi was actual new hardware while the lite was just a sleaker DS
Nintendrew:They're DSI exclusive!
Also Nintendrew:*Plays on 3DS
I remember Ghostwire! I was extremely disappointed when I heard it was cancelled.
I totally forgot these existed, haha!
When I got my first 3DS, I read the manual and saw the DSI cartage picture and was really confused. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
I have met people who have said that they have a game card that "won't fully work on a DS Lite or original DS" because they used Wi-Fi for multiplayer, I guess they thought that the DSi added Wi-Fi, while the DS has always had Wi-Fi
Yup. The original DS only supports WEP security, which isn't that secure at all and kind of easy to break into. The DSi, however, supported WPA2 (far more secure). However, older DS games expected to use the older connection system, so even if you had DSi on a WPA2 connection, you wouldn't be able to play Mario Kart online.
@@CiromBreeze ok turned on wep its time to play mario kart ds on a dsi
Now this is what I subscribed for!
no U
same!!!
I always wondered why the 3DS cartridges were white. Never knew there was DSi cartridges, I always though it was just for the DownLoadable games for the DSi shop
That ghost game looks dope
Try spirit camrea, same thing basically
R.I.P toys r us ;-;
to be fair, Walmart started whooping their ass in the 2000s. it was almost inevitable.
Kris O'Korra it’s true, but the feeling of toys r us is amazing
They will be missed
I knooow! Literally just went there and picked up a Geoffrey figure as memorabilia haha
bought my first system from toys r us :{
I would never think of talking about exclusives like this or the DS demo carts, yet you do and I adore when you do! Keep working hard drew, you’re doing so well, easily my favorite UA-camr. Always wondered though Drew, how old are you? I feel like you’ve got a baby face so you could be like 25+ and id have no idea!
Izzy Nobre brought me here!

I had one of those Skannerz. Those things were awesome.
Years ago I swear I saw a Penguins of Madagascar game on store shelves that was DSi exclusive, maybe I hallucinated it
Sna I believe I have that game, played it on a normal ds though.
Huh, must have been one of those DSi enhanced games maybe?
I have that game. It's DSi enhanced.
You are talking about Penguins of Madagascar - Dr. Blowhole Returns Again, published by THQ.
The DSi is a device crafted by the forces of evil to inflict their twisted unholy wrath upon those who dare enjoy playing their old gameboy advance games.
nah fam its made for smoll kids who dont need none of that old shit.
@@Kyle-xk5nc and those who already have gameboy consoles
The only way to fix that is to hack your DSi.
is it safe to say that the N3ds library outclassed the all of these combined with just one title?
minecraft
OOT 3D, or 3D land. Either one
Yes. Kid Icarus: Uprising >
Yeas actualy you should mean Mii Plaza 3ds
DoA Dimensions
DSi is like New 3DS, nothing really new but changes enough to sell as a new product
I remember Spongebob boating Bash for the DS has a feature that is exclusive to the DSi which is a camera feature
2:54 that face 💀
I wonder if bro will ever see this 😂
These are the only exclusive titles I'm aware of, but there are a TON of DSi enhanced titles, like at least 30. Most aren't notable titles, but Pokémon BW/BW2, Pokémon Conquest, and Solatorobo are among them.
And yeah, they're region locked too, but on the plus side when played on a DSi/3DS they support WPA for WiFi rather than just WEP. Y'know, when that mattered.
This might be a little known fact, but Pokémon Black & White and it's sequels actually run a lot smoother on DSi/3DS than on DS. The game slows down frequently in both battles and in the overworld on DS, but that's mostly cleaned up on DSi/3DS. It's a shame the 3DS Pokémon games didn't do the same with New 3DS (to my knowledge).
sheepytina Actually, I think it’s pretty well documented that the frame rate in Sun/Moon/US/UM is somewhat better on the New 3DS models. Pokemon BW might have been easier to notice since the 3DS came out in NA a few weeks later, and some folks skipped the DSi sub-generation and were probably still working through the games, thus they were exposed to both experiences.
Ah, thank you for the correction! I wasn't sure about SM/USUM. I guess it's just ORAS that let people down there.
actually i notice a bit of a frame rate difference while playing oras on my new 3ds vs my friends' normal 3ds. he also said to me that he finds my new 3ds running oras allot smoother, and we both own omega ruby and alpha saphire and its the same for both of those games.
I remember Skanners, largely because my local Home Bargains got a huge stock of them for £1.99 a piece. So me and a few mates each got the three colours they had available. Such a weird concept for a game though, but I ended up finding some dang good creatures from a few barcodes.
Skannerz were awesome.
This UA-camr is UNDERRATED. Deserves millions for being like a nintendo101 on all products. Shit he even owns full collections!
I remember seeing pictures of Ghostwire in Nintendo Power back somewhere around in 2007-08.
Man, I remember Ghost Wire. I was so hyped for it when I saw it on some local game magazine called "Tips and Tricks". A shame it was never released
"I completed this collection recently" - has 7 cartridges
I get excited when I see a notification that you have uploaded a video. Keep doing what you're doing :)
We all had those friends who owned that stupid DSi and only played New Super Mario Bros on it.
Kris O'Korra hope they like Flipnote Studio
ds lite was better if you weren't gonna use the camera or store, it had much better buttons
I had a friend with a DSi, I was a bit jealous of Bloons TD 4 being on it because I loved that game. Birds and bombs and Flipnote looked pretty cool too.
Yep.
Kris O'Korra super Mario 64 DS is better
Every nintendrew video is just a well structured way to flex his collection of games and consoles
Now Nintendo would call the DSi the New Nintendo 2.5 DS XL. Lol
The Retro Beast wit?
Memories you didn’t even remember you had are always the weirdest. That “scannerz” thing got me.
Omg I actually have the foto showdown dsi game and I always wonder if there was other games in that kind knowing there’s only three kinds of dsi games in America I’m amazed I found one
also the game was fun sometimes but gets annoying when you can’t level up and can’t have new creatures in your team cause of that to help with tournaments that you haven’t completed to get leveled up cause you don’t level up if going on previous battles only ones u haven’t completed helps level you up which was annoying
I just watched about 2 hours of your videos and man it was awesome. Great channel and information!
they are now making exclusive games for the “New Nintendo 3DS” ! I only noticed this because I got excited when I saw they ported Xenoblade Chronicles to the 3DS only to be super disappointed I can’t play it because I don’t have the “New Nintendo 3DS” (lame name too lol)
but its a better console fite me 1v1
hahaha I don't deny that! but c'mon what's next "The Even NEWER Nintendo 3DS" lololol
MINECRAFT!
That intro... The NES cartridge slot flap and power button press, so many memories as a kid :) the sound is iconic.
but they only use the cameras, i thought they would use the extra memory or cpu horsepower that the dsi has.
I guess if they did that people would wonder "Why can't we play this on the original DS?" without really getting why
David Cinciruk they should made the games with extra graphic features only available for the dsi, but compatible with the ds, like some n64 games that would play without the expansion pack but compatible with it for enhanced graphics.
The DSi really had no extra graphical features to speak of, iirc. I think it had some minor improvements to graphic bus speed as part of it's redesign, but differences were practically zero.
Philip Corner From what I recall, it had extra built-in RAM. If you recall, the original DS had a physical cart web browser with an extra RAM cart. So when the DSi was released, that extra RAM was built in along with the web browser
Philip Corner plus the dsi has one 133 mhz cpu
One thing I'd like to note is that System Flaw, Hidden Photo and Picture Perfect Hair Salon all have DSiWare counterparts. System Flaw is named System Flaw Recruit, Picture Perfect Hair Salon is called Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist, and Hidden Photo IS listed on the list of DSiWare software in North America last time I checked, but it is nowhere to be found on the 3DS eShop :^(
These were the only DS’s I owned until I got my 3DS so I have like 3 of them lol but my mum has an original ds
XAlpha is your mom a gaming mom?
Back a long time ago in a gamestop I remembered seeing a dsi exclusive game (don't remember which one) but I had no idea those even existed and this video is the first I've heard about them since then, nice job!
I didn't even know this existed
The Face Trading Cover has the all seeing eye illuminati confirmed!
Did Ghostwire later become Ghostwire Tokyo? That's pretty cool
I've always wanted to find out more about the DSi exclusives! Thanks, Nintendrew!
Awesome job Chadtronic oops Nintendrew. Lol. In all seriousness, great video. I can't wait for more. I remember seeing some DSI games at my local Kmart years ago. Before it sadly closed down last year =,(
Waited so long for a video like this! Great job! :)
(Btw, I was the dude who asked you about this on Twitter ^^)
I didn't even realize DSi-exclusive games were a thing. I guess I'm a fake Nintendo fan...
Funny! I thought of Skannerz before you even brought it up in the video. Nostalgia hit me super hard there, I remember taking it to the store when my mom when grocery shopping and scanning all the stuff she put in the cart.
Nintendo CEO:DS was a hit! We need a sequel
Nintendo CEO:We first need a name
Nintendo workers:How about we just put a random letter
Nintendo CEO:that's a good idea!
*After Wii's release*
Nintendo CEO:Wii was a better hit how about a sequel?
Nintendo Workers:Let's do like DSI just put a random letter
CEO:still good!
Fans:WII U? WTF IS THAT NAME!
CEO:this didn't happen
Super Mushroom I can't believe they didn't call the switch the Wii w
Actually the Ds did better than the Wii It’s the second highest selling console behind the PS2
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT OF SKANNERS RIGHT AWAY WHEN YOU SHOWED THAT! I lost it when you actually mentioned it!
So did anyone else get the entire LEGO movie as an ad before this video?
Wait what?😂
4:10 Wow, glad to know I wasn't alone in being reminded of those by this.
Do you like waffles? Yeah we like waffles.
CrAzYgIrL you still use internet explorer?
Hmm? I quoted one of the most popular videos on Flipnote, why does that mean I would use an outdated browser (and no I don't use edge either, I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox Quantum)?
Do you like pancakes?, Yeah we like Pancakes
go back to 2009
Poombie Read CrAzYgIrL's last comment.
I had a DSi as a kid. But I really only used it for the Super Mario 64 port, and Flipnote Studio.
God those were the days...
There was an iCarly game exclusively for DSi. Not sure how I remember that but I do. It had a physical copy and stuff, but is long forgotten now.
Nah, still works in a DS. That's another example of a "DSi Enhanced" title.
4:10 OH MY GOD I forgot Scannerz even existed!
4:17 I STILL HAVE THIS EXACT MODEL, OMFG!!
I might be wrong here but I believe the promotional demo cart for tloz twighlight princess was a dsi cartridge but it may have just been for the standard model consoles
Mr. Apricot The DSi came in 2009.
Twilight princess came out un 2006.
ArmaBiologica35 she's talking about the dsi version that was never released
ArmaBiologica35 okay in my defense I did say I wasn't sure honestly just forgot the release date of the console
I know what you're talking about. There was a DS cart that just had videos of upcoming console games. It made no sense.
Crow Migration yeah it was pretty weird and unnecessary but it's one heck of a collectors item
I remember wanting Skanners so badly when I was younger. The idea of different monsters hiding in everything was so cool to me
Yikes! These all look terrible. Still, good video, Nintendrew. I actually had no idea there even were DSi-exclusive games
Talon The Retro Gamer these are good
this intro brings back so many memorys of games like Super Mario World and Super Mario 64.. ah, nostalgics
whats funny is that ds games can work in 3ds but nintendo tried to take more money with the 2ds
What do you mean?
Truman Parker what do i mean what do you mean what do we allmean
Jamer360 A first why is your comment so weirdly worded, and second I asked why you said ds games work with 3ds, then start talking about taking money with the 2ds
Ds games still work with the 2ds
The more i watch of this guy, the more i like him.
The DSi was my first handheld gaming device. Ahh, memories.
You know, I've always been intrigued with these games because my first console was a DSi XL.
I love this channel! You always post the videos that I’ve actually wondered about!
Ahhh finallllyy!!!!!!!a
Am I the only person who still plays with his Nintendo dsiii???
Fun Fact: While Rabbids Go Home on DS wasn't a DSi exclusive, it did have a bonus feature if it was inserted on a DSi. If I may recall, it was just basically you taking a photo with a rabbid
My DSi is one of my favorite systems of all time. I was late to the party with the DS because I just kept playing my GBA SP for so long.
I always wanted to see this since my 3ds manual showed an example of one
There was also another DSi game called StyleLab Jewelry Design. It's kind of like that hairstyling game you showed but you're a jeweler. The DSi part is where you can make your own necklaces with charms you unlock from the story mode and secret codes, then "try them on" using a photo of yourself. Not only that, but it could also give you a code and a price then you could go online and order the necklace (or bracelet, earrings, etc.) to have in real life.
However, the part that stood out to me was how surprisingly expensive some of the designs were. I can only imagine the look of horror on the face of the parent who gave their daughter their credit card expecting her to get some cheap plastic toy from some game and instead being billed for an all fancy gold charm necklace costing more than * $260*.
As soon as the DSi Shop Theme played, I immediately paid attention again.
I actually have a copy of System Flaw! I bought it from Gamestop because for $1.25 because i had never heard of a DSi exclusive game before. So cool you have one too!
I actually had Foto Showdown. I spent hours on this game, for the longest time it was the only game I had for the system. I'm not sure why but I loved it, and still have it on my shelf. I've never seen anyone talk about it so props for that. Either way great video.
I remember I went to Blockerbuster when I was about 6 and I remember out of the corner of my eye the DSi only games. I always thought my brain was tricking me but hey guess my brain was right.
Ah good old flipnote studio, the thorn in Nintendo's side that still allows modding custom firmware on 3DS still to this very day.
The error at 3:32 reminds me of the kernel panic for the Mac because they both tell you that something has gone wrong.
Once again, you put out a great video! Keep up the great work!
I don't have a DSi but I have a 3DS and I just got picture perfect for Christmas. Got it online. I'm already addicted. XD
You have teached me a lot about nintendo ,i just joined for wii +wii u, thanks nintendrew!🕹😀
I remember wanting system flaw so badly. I also cold of swarm I remembered seeing a commercial for a dsi game that you could use to hunt ghosts and ghostwire must have been it!
I have a game called "De Blob 2" and there are some cameras in the levels that have a feature that is: make photos of the colors that the game says to you and when you do all of the 15 cameras you can use the chromatic crystal that allows you to change the color of your character anywhere that is very important because the puzzles are usually about your color.
There was a game called "Spongebob's Boating Bash" that had additional dsi features
Nick Coble I have it is it a gem or something?
