- In a major surprise, Nintendo brought Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games to Nintendo Switch Online. Funny enough, we just did a gigantic haul video on recent pick-ups I've made for my Analogue Pocket, so the timing couldn't be better. As we've discussed many GBA games here, I get into the library both current and upcoming as well as the performance of these games!

Its good that a lot of the older Zelda games are playable on Switch now. They need to release Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch at some point.
Those and the ds titles are the only mainline games not on switch I believe
@@amanwithnoname4657 I’d love remakes of PH and ST with more traditional control schemes, and better graphics obviously, if they felt like it they could make them look as good as wind waker
@@amanwithnoname4657 Four Swords Adventures as well.
It’s. Not. Going. To. Happen.
Nintendo never rereleases games that close to each other. Metroid Prime? It had been over a decade since they released those on the Wii.
@@leeartlee915 Alright well its not a big deal lol. Just would be nice to have almost every Zelda game on the Switch for younger people to try out who weren't alive when the originals released.
Minish Cap was actually the third Zelda game made by Capcom. They also made the Oracle games for Gameboy color which will be added to NSO later on. If you love Links Awakening definitely give those a shot, they’re also great.
Thats what I thought, for a second I was wondering if I was remembering it wrong.
And they are great games. Actually my favorite 2D Zelda games.
You’re terrible at SMB3
4th if you count the first Four Swords with ALTTP on GBA.
@Shin3y yeah the oracle of season's & ages and Golden sun are what I'm really waiting for, but having the Minish Cap and superstar saga at launch is awesome
The special thing about Nintendo Online Mario Advance 4 is that it’s packed with additional 30ish levels. The base cartridge didn’t have them because it required a separate add-on known as the e-Reader.
Wasn't that already a thing on wiiu?
@@Goldfire345 Yea but that version is about to be lost because the Wiiu eshop will be discontinued.
@@MrMywishlist yeah but this version isn't any better because you can't buy and own it
@@Goldfire345 truth
@@MrMywishlist Thankfully we got this Switch version right on time fortunately
GBA Four Swords with multiplayer functionality would be a nice addition.
It works for the Mario Bros. multiplayer so that could work!
Amazing Mirror is also going to be great.
Yes! I have it for my GameCube and it was quite fun but it would be more fun to play with friends ☺️
And please don't do the stupid thing of only making it available for a limited time this time.
Yea! Especially with the DSi version being gone
Minish Cap was an absolute BANGER!!! I LOVED playing it as a kid. Im 30 years old so the GBA was my favorite handheld as well. It’s so awesome to see them finally adding it to the Switch.
I’m 30 years old too GBA was my favorite too. So many memories on that system.
Since we got links awakening on nso even with this remake, i could imagine seeing the GBA version of advance wars after a few years.
@@xxargonautxx9790 You’re bringing back memories now man! Advanced wars, FF Tactics Advanced, Super Mario Tennis….the system is filled with memories like you said
Boomer games 😂😂😂
@@johnsampson6387 none of these games are old enough to be considered a “boomer”. The jokes on you.
The Mario RPGs need to have more love! They are so good!
Man I still have my Gameboy Advanced with Superstar Saga to this day. One of my favorite games of all time.
GBA had a lot of good unique RPGs in general.
Agree
Imagine if Jaiden Animations did a video about Superstar Saga
Yes they are
Its so hard to believe most of these games were made over twenty years ago. I still remember coming across Sonic advance in a Toys 'R Us, and getting it as a Christmas gift, and first game, with Yoshi's Island, with the GBA.
Yoshi's Island on GBA had bonus levels too! :D Plus the Sonic Advance games had Chao Garden!!!!!
@@macuser7048 Yeah, I thought the TCG was the real thing, and raise a chao all the way up to lv.99 in each stat. This was before I found out about grades, traits, racing, and chao karate. I am afraid to say, I never played the original yoshi's island on the SNES. The GBA was just a glorified portable SNES system.
Christmas 2002. Yoshi’s island, LTTP, Metroid Fusion, LotR TT all on GBA, what a Christmas 😊
@@KonohaRamenNoodles Let me tell you, Culdcept was released around this time, and I regret ever sleeping on this series. I like how the game is like the product of Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, and Fortune Street. Here's hoping they make another for the Switch or something.
Yo same thing happened to me as well my mom took me to Toys R Us and saw sonic advance on the shelf, which I got for Christmas as well.
Now all Nintendo needs to do is make GBA style joycons. With a REAL DPAD!
That would be neat but, isn't the gamecube d-pad literally a gba d-pad? They could just do official gamecube joycons and.... but then you would lose those nice clicky L and R buttons of the gba doing that.... oh dear.
I use my SNES-style 8bitDo controller as it has the closest feel to the Game Boy 1989/Color/Advance's controls...
I honestly liked the new dpad way better than the old ones, it often thinks i push mutliple buttons when i press it so making them separate buttons makes it easier to not misinput
Tired of bending my thumb on my Switch Lite D-pad. lol
Now we're talking
At least Golden Sun was in a Nintendo Direct. Massive milestone
It's not enough. I want to just buy these games.
@@SourRobo8364 true don’t know why people are so excited over renting roms that are decades old
@@ThomastheDankEngine8900 Side pieces to the meat and potatoes that is add ons for Switch games.
@@ThomastheDankEngine8900 at this point any exposure of the series to new players will bring on new fans, and more fans means more potential for a new golden sun
I was half kidding when saying massive milestone. But it's still a positive for the series. Better than nothing
They're bringing Golden Sun, bring in Lost Age as well and we're cooking. Those two games are arguably the best games to have ever come out on GB. Hopefully people will play them and interest will renew. I'd KILL for either a continuation of the series or a remake or something like that. What a fantastic set of games.
I had the same thought when I saw GS was being added. PLEASE REMAKE 1 and 2!!!
I Imagine they will. I mean they have too. Because golden sun 1&2 are the same game. Golden sun was originally suppose to be on the n64 but because of money issues they moved the production to the gba and had the split the game into two different games. Releasing the 2nd one the very next year. So It would make sense to release both of them in the switch.
It did have a continuation... Golden Sun: Dark Dawn on the DS... The sales were sadly abysmal
@@SorcererLance the game was abysmal as well
@@SorcererLance the ds version had nothing to do with original
I just wish that they would have both the switch online catalog, and individual purchases to keep everything you want on the console even without NSO
Fun fact: in Mario Kart Super Circuit you can leave red shells behind you similar to how you launch green shells backwards. They will sit there and then follow the first kart to pass. I don't think they ever had this ability before or since.
It's exactly like the claymore with homing attack I miss that good times
Watching Matty play Super Mario Bros. 3, Level 1-1 was so brutal. LOL Knowing where everything is and just seeing him walk (Yup, you heard me, WALK) right past all of it was torturous.
Check out the 2 Zelda Oracle games when they come out. They were like the later Battle Network games taking the Pokemon dual release idea into it's own direction and I think it's the best of the lot. They're 2 unique games that share 1 story, sequeling eachother through game codes and both changing depending on which one you played first in slight ways with NPCs and a few references to the one you played first. Highly recommended. Capcom's first Zelda attempt building off of Link's Awakening and truly being marvelous. Won't have the chillness of Link's Awakening, but they're major slept on gems
WarioWare GBA is one of my favorite games ever and has continued to be one of my favorite series ever, to the point that I've been making fan content of it continually since its start in the 2000s. Glad your first encounter with it was a fun one!
After seeing Kirby Tilt and Tumble is confirmed to come. The re release of Wario Twisted ive wanted since wiiu was new is so close to being real!!! Favorite gba game of all time
Played it a few days ago and beat it in 2 hours and 13 minutes. Which is ironic because my birthday is February 13th(2/13). Definitely an awesome game. My first experience with Warioware. Probably gonna pick up the newest one some time soon.
One of the coolest features on the GBA WarioWare was the sticker instruction booklet with it's own sort of "mini-game". Designated places for each sticker through the whole thing. I purchased this game new at least twice just to re-do that instruction booklet lmao. Definitely a SUPER underrated series, and Get It Together! was the SHIT.
There was a sequel to Kuru Kuru Kurururin called Kurururin Paradise. Only released in Japan, it's not terribly expensive and the GBA isn't region locked.
I was pleasently surprised about the filters that you can switch on, to make it look more like on its original console.
Some games look much better with it!
I’m hyped that the 6 Golden Coins was one of the games they added. It’s still my favorite Mario game just because I played it sooooo much as a kid
My mom got me super Mario land 2 six golden coins when it came out in 1992. I played it lots and loved it when I was 10 years old.
Dude we need mainline Pokémon games on the service especially with Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 coming soon
My guess is that they'll drop at the same time as stadium, all 6 of the gen 1 and 2 games
@@woolum123456789that would be fantastic
they already said they never intend to let you transfer to stadium lol
@@gavinrhodes7645 I didn't say they would let you transfer the pokemon, just that'd they'd all drop around the same time as stadium, with it being the pokemon anniversary or pokemon day or whatever it's supposed to be, it'd make sense to drop them, or gen 3 fire red and leaf green, along with stadium
@@woolum123456789 no it wouldn't because remakes make infinitely more money
If I'm not wrong Game and Watch Gallery games are compilations of the Game and Watch games Nintendo released over many years, with "modern" versions that have updated graphics and physics. I'm surprised you didn't mention that! It's fun to see the history.
Superstar saga is my favorite Mario game. Really love its rpg style
When I saw Wario Land 3 was one of the launch games, it made me seriously consider subscribing. It's my favourite game of all time and is the reason why I'm such a huge gamer. Even wrote an essay about why it's the most unique metroidvania ever made, then did a reading of it on my channel. Was a little disappointed you didn't mention how it looks docked, but I'm sure it's quite good and might decide to subscribe just for that alone.
Came looking for someone to mention wario land. Epic fail by the content creator
I played it for a while, it looks great docked I really hope we get the other WarioLands aswell I find it odd they only gave us WL3 but not 1 or 2 same with SML2 and not 1, I'm really hoping WarioLand4 comes to GBA cause that's the one I grew up with and I love it!

Wario Land 3 is one of the greatest games of all time. Genuinely surprised you didn't seem interested. Hands down the best title on the GB/GBC library. Super Mario Land 2 is up there too.
It's super confusing for a first timer. That game has backtracking that you would know if you played it before. Not as straight forward as 1, 2, or 4.
@@macuser7048 Lol it's really not. It's super straightforward. If you get stuck or lost the hidden figure tells you exactly where to go. And there's not any backtracking. You can only access a small portion of each level until you collect a new powerup or specific treasure that changes something within that level. You're basically playing an entirely new level each time. The only backtracking would be the 8 coins in each level but 1. that's optional & 2. you technically don't need to backtrack anyway because if you are told to go to a certain level for the fourth time (blue chest) then you already have access to the entire level and can collect them before opening the blue chest. The only valid criticism about the game would be centered around the golf mini game since 1. it's mandatory to progress 2. it pops up quite frequently, & 3. the game doesn't really teach you how to play it. But once you learn how it works (if my 5 or 6 year old self could figure it out, anybody can) it's a breeze. Also, I don't recall 1, 2, or 4 having any relevance to my original comment?
surprised they didn’t include wario land 2 in the gb launch lineup, maybe they’ll add it later
Been playing these on my switch for several years now! Love it!
Love the Analogue Pocket it’s great with the emulator chip now available for roms like Inclement Emerald while also being able to play original cartridge games. Having the ability to play like an original game boy or game boy advanced while also having amazing emulation is truly great. Highly recommend getting for original hardware because Gameboy Advanced handhelds cost way to much.
Good video as usual, gotta wonder however if you’ll be covering some of the other games featured in the direct in the future aswell though, like samba de amigo, layton, ghost trick, etrian odyssey or baten kaitos
So we got Baten Kaitos 1 and 2, Tales of Symphonia, and Grandia 1 and 2 on Switch now. All we need now is Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance would be cool too.
@@macuser7048 I’d rather have a “Fire Emblem Radiant Collection” that includes the Wii one too, I also wouldn’t mind a hypothetical Paper Mario collection that includes both 64 and TTYD so there’s a way to actually own PM64 instead of renting it through switch online, but yeah, crossing my fingers for a skies of arcadia remaster
Wario Land 3 was my childhood. I never beat it but man did I spend a lot of time in that world when I was in elementary school. Same with the og Pokémon, DKC, Tarzan, and mickeys racing adventure
Only Wario Land games I had were Wario Land 2 and 4. Tarzan I had on N64. It was alright. I also had Mickey's Racing Adventure. That game is underrated. Me and my sister worked together on unlocking everything in that game.
While I hope they make remakes of the Oracle games, I love that they will put the originals in the service. They're the Zelda games of my childhood, that and Minish Cap and I'm already playing that even though I've played it several times already!
The Oracle's were confirmed in the direct
@@amanwithnoname4657 yes, I meant to say remakes like they did with Link's Awakening before. I really want to play these games again and I'm glad they are going to be on the Switch soon.
Oracles are cool because you can finish them in any order you want. There's TONS of content there!
@@macuser7048 it's a shame they cancelled the third game that was planned. One for each part of the Triforce... That would be great.

Having alot of fun playing some of the Gameboy games i had as a kid. Mario 2, Kirby and Gargoyles Quest were my jams back in the day.
I was going to buy a GBA Friday!! Honestly I still might lol I just loved the sp so much and it's more portable. I would also love to collect game boy games.
Keep your eye out for fake game cartridges if you do, the GBA is one of the most pirated/cloned game systems out there.
@@JohnTKyeah, but as an owner of a modded gba i’d argue there’s still some merit to duplicate carts. now you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to play drill dozer lmao (…even though you might want to later for collection purposes)
Really excited for this. GBA was probably my favorite Nintendo system. I will say it’s probably going to be the most challenging one since most of the games are third part but I look forward to it. Honestly I like how Nintendo has taken a back seat in the console war and just focuses on fun and nostalgia and lets Sony and Microsoft fight over graphics.
ironically, that focus on fun and nostalgia over graphics now makes them a lot more popular than the competition, since the ps5 and new xbox didn’t excite anyone upon release. doesn’t help that it was difficult to find those two for a while, yet the switch consistently remained in stock and had a better library _in its first year_ than its competitors do NOW.
@@kaphizmey6229 saying PS5 and Xbox series X not exciting anyone, is a huge stretch, but I do agree that there libraries are way more limited than what anyone was expecting for its first year.
Yeah but ps5 exclusives are just starting to come out. If Xbox remakes 2 and 3 with online play, I’m getting an Xbox too. The dead space remake looks great. The resident evil 4 remake won’t be releasing on the switch. The cloud versions suck and don’t count those. Nintendo does have it on lock for older Nintendo games. They need to release the Pokémon games that came out for gbc and gba to put a huge dent in the retros that have all the older most popular game boy games. Nintendo needs to release more popular past titles rather than 75% mario games that didn’t age well.
Thank goodness I’ve been wanting them to do this
Glad to see these, and it does make me wonder whether DS will be added to NSO eventually. It would need a lot of work to function properly on the Switch though, given lack of a mic, so... who knows.

We had official ds emulation on the wii u and it was mostly terrible lol. For some reason nintendo mainly brought over stylus heavy/bottom screen games like phantom hourglass or prime hunters and it was super awkward on the gamepad. The distance from the side of the controller is just to far to properly stylus.
Some top screen focused games are great on the tv/gamepad setup like crono trigger or pokemon diamond, or the kingdom hearts games, but like most ds games that would've made sense on the wii u they werent officially released, so you have to softmod the console to get those via rom injections
If we ever see it’ll be on the switch 2 or whatever and I believe nso will be brought over to the next gen

As a huge Zelda fan, Minish Cap being the first game I ever played (and owned) in the series is one of my absolute favorites, next to Majora's Mask (THE best game ever)
This really makes me miss Virtual Console. I bought so much for wii and 3ds. I still have those games downloaded and on cart but knowing you only get those games while subscribed with no way to even download them, eg ps plus, it feels like a very poor substitute now.
But great for anyone where this is their only way of playing these classics.

It's good to see. I don't regret getting an Analogue Pocket, though. I love that it can play carts, I love the features and the feel of it, the filters are great, and it doesn't have that stupid onscreen menu that Nintendo seems to think that we want. But these games were made to be played by the masses, and now they can be - at least some of them.
Minish cap is one I never played but now definitely will and I’m so glad to have a Mario and Luigi game again, If they remastered those games for switch or made a new one I would go nuts
Kirby and the amazing mirror and the legend of Zelda four swords would have been great games to launch the service with to really show off the online functionality. Most people have never gotten to play them the way they where meant to be played since finding 4 people with the games Gameboys and link cables so having them with friends online would be a great way to show the service and excite pepole for it.
Just played a bit of minish cap for the first time, and I’m absolutely loving it
I really love how you articulate your thoughts. I was very curious how GB/GBA online would be. I might consider it later on - especially because of Golden Sun. I sadly, sold my copy a long time ago and I'd love to have it again in some form. I played Minish Cap on an emulator years ago and had such a blast with it! I do see that they have some Sega games - there are a ton that they should add. And I hope they remember that Ecco the Dolphin has a sequel that absolutely should be added. .. I also wonder about the movie-tie in GB/Sega games .. like Jurassic Park. Would be great to see those on the service.
I'd guess and say that they'll probably release or at least announce some Pokémon game(s) for the Online-service with their Pokémon Direct that they have every year on Pokémon Day, feb 27th, (or maybe it was the 26th?). Pokémon always has their own thing when it comes to this. I could be wrong and maybe they'll add nothing for now, but yeah. I'd personally love to see the Gen 1 and 2 games on there.

Mario Kart Super Circuit was one of the first games I bought back when I got my GBA, and it also had the original SNES tracks as bonus courses too.
And SMA4:SMB3 had the bonus levels unlockable with the eReader. Which while it was a nice idea, could've been done better execution-wise. When Nintendo added it to the Wii U eShop and had all the levels added, that was a fantastic touch, and them doing it again here on the Switch is just as awesome!
I can’t wait for the Metroid video. My favorite game series hands down.
I loved playing WarioWare and Minish Cap today
Once they bring Metroid Fusion to GBA Online, you’ll be able to play the entire Metroid saga (games 1-5) entirely on the Switch! I think that’s amazing.
Nah, once they add Zero Mission life will be good 😅 OG Metroid is pretty ass today (still the only one I've never beat... mainly cause Zero Mission exists)
@@MrRhysReviewsyeah, now there’s a fair chance that zero mission ends up on switch… though they could leave it off to avoid redundancy, which would be incredibly stupid of them

Donkey kong 94 and
Metal gear solid Ghost Babel
That mgs game has no right being as good as it is.
Bionic Commando Elite Force, Revenge of the Ninja, Resident Evil Gaiden, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Tetris DX, Warlocked, Dragon Warrior III, Mole Mania, Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters, Balloon Kid (Japanese one was in full color!)
Kuru kuru kururin is such a hidden gem. I couldn't believe it when I saw it announced. I only knew about it because of Ben Hanson.
Star X is a good gem of a GBA game. same with Iridion 3D and Iridion 2. All good shmups that showed GBA could handle 3D.
Mario Kart Super Circuit may not have a purpose anymore, but when it released it was absolute fire. I remember my tween years, particularly the summer holidays in the Benidorm of those days... That was a great childhood. GBA, Golden Sun, Pokémon Silver and Mario Kart Super Circuit at Benidorm beach and visiting the arcades before dinner (with Simpsons Arcade, House of the Dead, Three Wonders and Radikal Bikers) were peak childhood and peak summer for a middle-class Spaniard kid back then. I envy no kids nowadays, they won't ever know what that was like.
It does have a purpose. It still has unique tracks. To me it's a direct sequel to the SNES Super Mario Kart. Same with F-Zero Maximum Velocity but GP Legend and Climax have more racers and more content.
You played the Simpsons arcade..... your last sentence is invaild
@@90sNath Why is it?
@Decatonkeil because Simpsons arcade came out much earlier then the other games. Meaning you literally just proved what you said at the end is incorrect. 90s gamers when that came out thought you would never know what that was like either.

Kururin Squash on the Gamecube was my first introduction to the series... excited to try the Gameboy one! It's unfortunately the only one in English, but if you can ever play the Gamecube one I highly recommend it.
I love it. The only problem I have is the classic feel setting for classic gameboy puts lines around every square which was not how the gameboy looked, or at least not my gameboy color. I even put the gameboy advance on little screen once in a while to really have a nostalgia trip, although it is best at fullscreen with classic feel on.

I think Pokémon Yellow is unlikely considering Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are remakes of that game. Pokémon will require extra care considering the trading and the expectation of bringing your Pokémon into the new games.
Edit: To be fair, Link's Awakening is here while the Switch already has a remake, but Pokémon even dragged their heels coming to the 3DS, and even then it was a slow trickle.

I'm fine with playing them on a yearly service since you only have to pay once a year. But the tax on it is stupid. I got a gift card with 50 dollars on it and figured i could use it for the online plus expansion pass. Turns out it had 3 dollars tax and that wasn't on the card. Wario Land 3 in GBC is amazing. Spent so much time trying to figure my way through that when I was 7 and 8 years old.
Check out the shining Force games franchise sometime. They are amazingly fun and a blast from the past. Originally on the Genesis but ported to the Gameboy.
The first one was ported. Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is Legacy of Great Intention. But Shining Soul 1 and 2 are completely original games. Also Resurrection of Dark Dragon is a remake done by Atlus since Camelot was working for Nintendo and not Sega at the time. Golden Sun to me is closer to the old Shining games but Atlus did a decent job. Fire Emblem games are similar to Shining Force too. GBA had so many good RPGs and strategy games. I mean heck it has a Tactics Ogre prequel even!
My hope is that the Pokémon games will be announced at the next Pokémon specific presentation. Knowing Nintendo, they probably won’t be though

I got both, DKC, Dragon's Lair, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Animorphs too since I liked the books and tv show, but the game was a bad Pokemon clone. lol It should have worked but they screwed it up.
Gargoyles one of my favorites as a launch title for this new gameboy online works for me.
They should just let you buy the individual games and download it to your system. Why am I paying a monthly service to rent these games? I'd be happy to pay if I could own the game. I'm going to keep on pirating these games and emulating them on my steam deck without reprucussions.
Seriously. What a turn off that you must be subscribed. Individual purchases would be a more consumer friendly option, but they are money hungry
Yup always morally correct to pirate Nintendo, since they went the Adobe route
This has been the best update for me personally. I've played everything on the n64, but was still excited about a lot of the games and had a lot of fun with Mario Party with the boys specifically. But I never had a Gameboy Advanced, plus never had any of those games on the regular Gameboy so I've been having a ton of fun playing these games. Already beat Minish Cap and I loved it.
oh that takes me back. I remember mario an luigi uperstar, this was so different and awesome. I wanna make a GBA game so much. I have made GB game before but GBA is my fav handheld.
G&W Gallery 3 is a great time! It’s about a 2-hour playtime. It’s a very fresh take on the Nintendo classic handhelds.
Older millennial here. I was a Pokémon freak, and loved Mario games… the green pocket was an old friend. Great vid. Subbed.
Capcom also made the Zelda Oracle games on GBC Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. 2 separately Great games and they link together to get the true ending. Supposed to be added to the service later.
Watching you play Super Mario Bros 3 was excruciating 🤣
Me and my two other friends played this Kuru Kuru Kururin last night for like 50 rounds on the marathon mode for multiplayer. It was so mich fun for such a simple concept. I of course got last place, my friends were better than me by a mile. The first one was ahead of me consistently by 10 or so points. But the second friend, my god she absolutely gave us our asses on a silver platter. Im glad the gba emulator chose this game, I thought we would get bored of it but we were just laughing every round on how bad we were at not touching the walls.
I said the exact same thing replaying some older Mario Karts recently. MK8DX is just so good and outclasses them all by such a huge margin it is really hard to play any of them for longer than 20 minutes.
The library is great! Mario and Luigi superstar saga, Mario kart super circuit, Mario avance 4 and minish cap. It’s one of the best libraries I could have asked for.
Glad to have these games on the switch. Completely forgot capcom worked on the minish cap and the oracle games on the gba/gbc. Use to play them all the time as a kid. Need to get back into the minish cap....once i can finally put down warioware.
The Oracles are in Minish Cap. There's a sidequest where you help them find a place to live.
Mario advance 4 has like 34 all new stages in it! Imagine mario 3 with with turnips and a super cape. Thats what these new levels offer!
The Alone in the Dark looked like that on Gameboy when it came out lol so I'm not expecting a high quality when playing it.. Because back then that's all we had.
I pretty much had all the Gameboy systems and some original Game & Watch so everything looks exactly how I remember it when I use to play it back then. I have my Switch Lite so when I first fired up Tetris it just took me back. I left it in its original green tint and smiled...it's such a nostalgic feeling and I'm enjoying it. I can't wait until they add more games.
I love and have the Game & Watch gallery. All I wanted to play was Yoshi's Cookies/Egg and the Mario & Luigi. I had the original Game & Watch for it so I play the classic version.
I still have a lot of my original Gameboy games but sadly I can't use them on my DS and my SP got messed up...so games on the Switch is great!
Sorry for the long post..I'm just still very excited over this!
You should try using one of the included filters for Aline in the Dark to see if that helps while playing on your TV.
Superstar Saga is wonderful funny and well worth your time. Minish Cap is fun too, on the short side (no pun intended) but what it has is top tier Zelda imo. Have fun!
Might be time for you to dive in the Zelda series. Idk how you missed greatness back in day
I feel the same way about Mario Kart: Super Circuit. It's a fine enough game, and when I got it for my birthday way back when it came out, it was so fun to be able to play a Mario Kart game wherever I went (at this point I think 64 and the original game were the only ones out there. So it was a real novelty to be able to play it elsewhere.
But after Mario Kart DS, and then especially Mario Kart 7, that novelty was no longer there. And since they looked so much better, with real 3D environments and such, it took a lot of the specialness out of Super Circuit. For the time, it was wonderful. But nowadays it's more of a curiosity. And to be honest, I was never a big fan of the 2D environments of the SNES one, so I wasn't thrilled with these. So literally 90% of how you feel!
I'm sure the processing couldn't handle the environments and the racing at the time. But I do wonder what the game could have been like if it took the Iridion 3D route of graphics. Iridion 3D, by the way, still looks incredible today. I don't know what kind of magic they used, but wow... it's amazing. And despite some people finding it to be more of a novelty for its graphics than the gameplay (the opposite of Super Circuit...) , I actually really love the gameplay.
I was waiting to hear what you thought about the controls the whole video. The last time I played they were kind of sluggish or laggy. Has that improved?
I bought a game boy advanced sp because I never owed one I had a DS to play them on but mine completely died. I kinda want to continue playing on it and not from the switch just so nostalgic and just the cartridges so amazing! ❤️
Fire emblem, Pokémon, mega man battle network, and advance wars games are ones I’d like to see get that backwards comparability. Those were some of my favorites growing up.
Battle Network huh?..... Subscribed 👍
What I love about most of these gba games included is they’re all very “is that even a good idea?” And they’re all 9s and 10s. From Capcom making a Zelda, to a Mario rpg with lots of dialogue, and a wario mini game collection.
Also I agree about MK8 spoiling other cart racers. Unless you have nostalgia for a specific game, it’s hard to beat mk8. Glad they continued to add content and made it worth the money
WHAT!? My guy SLEPT on Wario Land 3? That was the only game that came to the switch GB emulator that I was excited about.
I love so many of these games like Minish Cap Zelda and FE the blazing blade but have them on Wii U. And Zelda oracle of seasons and ages i have on 3DS lol. Be cool if we finally got mother 3 thru this service. I’d love that
Since we got Earthbound Zero, Mother 3 is totally coming. I've no doubt now that we have GBA online. Mother 3 has nothing in it's way now.
Your Super Mario Bros. 3 skills are funny bro. Otherwise great video. Really dig it. It's ok that you play SMB3 kinda weirdly. It don't mean a thing. ha
Bro, speaking of Grounded that was my GOTY. As I'm watching you explain the Minish cap which is one Zelda game I have always wanted to play so bad, it occurs to me something I just love is the idea of being shrunk down and exploring. I don't know maybe that love started with watching the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids but I would love to see more games do this.
Battle network games are fantastic. Minish cap was amazing as well
I'm glad they are at least putting gameboy games on the system. People need to play both mario land games. Masterpieces
