Animaniacs reminds me of what happened with Mean Girls DS. From my experience with that lost media hunt, it probably didn't come out.
Agreed, I'm 95% sure it must have been pulled. Thanks for watching, as always!
Mean Girls DS? Lmao damn
I was just about to leave a comment about Mean Girls! I wonder how many other DS games are just missing in action
I'm pretty sure it was pulled very late. I've looked since, and there is no proof it ever came out.
TheGamerFromMars I think we should ask about it on the Lost Media Wiki
Nintendrew: ... So, with that out of the way, first up is Little Red Riding Hood...
Me: Oh, huh.
Nintendrew: ... 's Zombie BBQ.
Me: Excuse- Hmm?
I had an opportunity about 6 years ago to pick that game up for 14 bucks and didn't take it. I really regret that now.
That game is actually pretty challenging I remember the furthest I got was fighting santa
@@gabrielmendez4161 santa ?
I actually picked this game up brand new back in the day. It's reasonably fun but VERY hard. If you're interested, another company made a spiritual sequel called "Zombie Panic in Wonderland" which is available on Nintendo eShop for 3DS and soon to be released for Switch.

You guys ever seen how expensive Pokémon heart gold and soul silver are?
I bought it when it was 20$ and im glad I did
They're my favorite games though... so worth it. Shame I lost my pokewalker a few years back
I got HG on preorder, and the Ho-Oh figurine it came with us still on my dresser and I’m taking that baby to the GRAVE
My brother managed to get a working Soul Silver game at our local flea market for $15. We both had $10 budgets at the time (my dad was pretty cheap) so I agreed to pitch in if he gave me his Diamond game.

Cooking mama 2, in france the first available retail copies were bugged with a glitch that freezes the game right after the first level, so it was being recalled everywhere, used to work at a gameshop back then and we did send them all back. This alone must make it the rarest DS game to have now, The first edition of Cooking mama 2 with the glitch in it, i think it was on store briefly for like less than a day, the copies must have been destroyed by the publisher, if anyone can back some info on this maybe?
@@Jackoasta i was talking about the very 'first' print of the game, which contained a game breaking bug, being recalled and probably destroyed, the game did receive a second print immediatly and came back on store shelves
Wait, I remember this game...
@@randaddly567je précise que cela concerne le day one de la sortie du jeu en magasin, il est resté moins d'une demie journée en rayon avant d'être retiré de la vente.
Wow TIL there was a magic themed Wild World ripoff, now I kinda wanna play it.
It's...not great. I'm a huge Animal Crossing fan, but I couldn't get into it.
Yeeeah it's actually pretty lame, I heard you could marry characters in it but idk man it just looks weird to me, not to mention it's filled to the BRIM with loading zones, like you can't even take 5 steps without going through one
The best / worst concept for an Animal Crossing rip off is there was a Duck Dynasty game on 3DS that played like AC lmao
@@RichardPlaysStuff WOW, never would have guessed that.
It is a good game for the Ds, it doesn't hold up great today due to all the loading, but it did do abit more then ACWW, where you can fly to an Island to fish. There mystery missions to do to but you have a play often enough to get the effects. There hidden characters, like making everyone believe in a fairy and well you meet a fairy. It really good for a ds game considering how much they crammed onto it. I couldn't personally get into it due to the spells and everything cost tones and it took forever to build money unlike animal crossing. So its a hit and miss. In the UK the game worth £30
3:20 “rounds that can last over an hour” my friends and I played over. 200 hours on ONE Dokapon Kingdom game. You gotta commit for the long haul, make in and out of game brides and deals. Dokapon is your life or bust
My heart went into overdrive when you said the animaniacs game, and then I was disappointed when you said it's the US release that's rare 😂 I'm from Europe so nothing special in my collection after all 😴
me too xD
It litteraly said it
what're you talking about? he coulden't find the american version, and the other version in box was 150$ on ebay
Mine to Beth I loved that show
@@Yuma3062 Well guess what, they're back! On Hulu!
No dump of the supposed US version of Animaniacs' ROM exists either
I doubt it was released
I was going to say the same thing. In my search I found 2 European versions only
I think I've seen this
It exists. It's on gamestops website along with all of these.
@@roseackackack8547 And it probably will say "sold out". if it was intended for release ofc it will have a page on GameStop's website. The pages are made pre-release, so if it gets cancelled last minute it can be overlooked.
then explain why there is ds longplays on youtube. not tryin to be rude mate but if there was no rom dump, and noone can find the game, how is there longplays? As i said, no rude vibes. If you know why, id be happy to know.
Almost every time I watch one of these "rarest game videos", I see one that I didn't know about and think "wow that looks good, I should try it" and then remember that, by nature of the video, it'll be expensive. Crap
Time to sail the high seas... xD
You can always emulate it, if there is an emulator available...
For real: If you ever get a chance to play Dokapon Kingdom (PS2/Wii) with four friends DO IT. At least, if you don't mind potentially losing them as friends. Dokapon Kingdom makes Mario Party look like tiddlywinks, in terms of being a potential friendship-killer. It's absolutely insane.
I wasn't too impressed by the DS version, tho.
Jason Blalock And if you can find the time.
I absolutely love "Solatorobo: Red The Hunter", which I still have in my Nintendo DS library, and it is perhaps the only JRPG-style game ever made in which the characters are anthropormorphic animals instead of humans, which is probably the reason why it remains one of my favorite games on the console, and I really wish other companies that work on RPGs like Square-Enix would design games with those kinds of characters as well! ^^
4:49 Well hey, at least you don't have to deal with Mr. Resetti!
agree
Oh, hey, dude! I didn't know you watched Nintendrew! (I'm Retronionos on Discord, or Joseph Seelund, as you first met me.)
Patsy but its a shitty content channel Not to mention if you bungle up a certain spell the bathroom and your room would be filled with mushrooms
*rosseti
nope it's Mr. Resetti, named that way because he stops you from resetting Rosseti however would just be plain stupid
I replay Solatorobo about once every few years, I love it! Didn't know it was that rare, that's pretty neat
Yeah, it is definitely one of my favorite Nintendo DS games that I remember getting at a local GameStop back in 2011, and I think it's a real shame that everyone missed out on such a gem because I absolutely love everything about the game, especially since it is also the only JRPG-style game in which the characters are anthropomorphic animals instead of humans, which I've always had a soft spot for as long as I can remember. ^^
Appreciate the ntr-RARE-usa printing on the cartridge, love the little details

"WE'RE HAVING A SALE!"
Dokapon goes for about 24 hours in regular story mode. The Runaway Guys did a LP of the Wii game and it went on for 144 episodes (weeks) just to complete the story mode. They filmed it in several sessions.
"WE'RE HAVING A ROBBERY SALE! EVERYTHING'S FREE! IF YOU'RE GOOD AT ROSHAMBO!"
The Dokapon games can be summed up like this: they will KILL any good relationships you have if you bring friends along if you take them seriously. According to many, they are actually worse in that regard than the Mario Party games, and Mario Party is NOTORIOUS for killing friendships en mass.
"CAUSE SOMEONE WON'T STOP PRESSING BUTTONS WHEN IT'S NOT THEIR TURN!"

this might be a small thing but i know for a FACT that animaniacs came out here. i remember noticing it at game stores as a kid because i was a big fan of the show but i never ended up buying it. unless there's some mandela effect style shenanigans going on here, this game did release in north america. it might have just been incredibly limited.
Maybe they took them off the shelves almost immediately? Either way we didn't miss out on much.

I knew solatorobo would be on this list. I actually own that one. While I didn't manage to get the launch version with the soundtrack I did get a version cib of the regular game. I found it randomly at a GameStop when I was in my senior year of high school. It was like $22 or something. Imagine my surprise when I looked it up on eBay a year or two later and found out that loose carts were going for around $70-$80.
Very fun game. Definitely going to keep it
I never got a Launch version either with the Soundtrack but did get one sealed with the original cellophane for £29.99p off E-Bay.

I have a copy with the CD soundtrack that I got during launch, but for whatever reason I never played the game at all or listened to the soundtrack.
So...would anyone be able to estimate the value of something like that now?

I preordered the game and the soundtrack, and I absolutely love the thing. It threw me for a loop and I consider it highly underappreciated tbh.

I'd argue The Legendary Starfy is extremely rare. Hardly anyone knows about it. It's the fifth and final game of its series and the only one localized. Shame cause I've played through it and it's a really good platformer but it's hardly available anymore. Then there's Vampire Legends: Power of Three, which I'm playing through occasionally and can't freaking understand. The only thing blocking my progress - THE GOSH DANG SEWERS. LIKE WHY CAN'T I GET ANYTHING NO MATTER HOW MUCH I RUB MY SCREEN!
I got Starfy loose at GameStop years ago for 5 bucks and it's sold used on the website for 10. Might be overpriced on certain listings, but not rare.
I still remember my Ds that I broke the L R buttons
I have a DSi with the same issue

I believe the NTSC version of Animaniacs was cancelled due to the Bad press in Europe. I mean think about it. There's no real point in shelling the game out if it got slammed hard in another region. Yeah they could sell it on shelves but at the same time printing those copies would be expensive. And consumers who buy the game wouldn't be paying that much to even cover 1/4 of the printing cost. To the company it was essentially a failed project so they decided to simply stop production, call up any store or even any Warehouses they had that kept the copies and told them to return everything. Happened a few times with other games so who's to say it didn't happen here? There's been some games that got made over in Japan that got panned by critics which HAD an English translation and all but because of the low scores and failure over in that region, the translation and shipping was scrapped making the game or even series a Japan or European exclusive.
I didn’t know Solatorobo was that rare! I got it when it first came out as a bundle with the soundtrack CD. It’s actually one of my favorite games ever.

@@MrPicklecopter for real! Now to be honest - I only owned the original Gameboy as a kid and the next "big" Gameboy-type purchase I made was as an adult with the 3Ds. I was more of a console kid and didn't do a lot of handheld gaming
Ikr! I always thought it meant developer system for some reason, lol.
@@ReshiLuna I looked up where the "developers' system" came from, Nintendo themselves said that to devs the DS stands for developers' system as it's features let developers imagine/make unique games and experiences, but to the consumer it means Dual Screen. So it's a double meaning name.

Thanx for the great show dude.
I was half expecting Scrimmy Bingus and the Crungy Spingus to pop up as the final game.
i actually got to play an unreleased DS game. my dad worked with a video company like 13 years ago so i used to be able to go and test out games for multiple platforms before their release. it was really awesome.
The DS game was Crash Bandicoot Tag Team Racing i believe.
WHAT?! THEY ACTUALLY HAD A DS VERSION OF CRASH TAG TEAM RACING IN THE WORKS?!
There's a reason why I react that way. I actually owned a copy of the *released* Playstation 2 version. I enjoyed the crap out of it. Kind of mind blowing that they were thinking of porting it to the DS at one point.
Do you got any proof of this?!?

After a good amount of research, I thoroughly believe that the Animaniacs: Lights, Camera, Action video game was canceled for a release in America. So, let's see how I did. First, I had to find out the main differences between PAL packaging and NA packaging. That resulted in a difference in ratings (PAL had a Pegi rating, while NA had the ESRB). I conducted a search from there, following Nintendrew's steps along the way. First, I looked on third-party selling sites such as eBay to start. There, I found that most, if not all of the copies that were being sold were PAL copies. This resulted in a dead end as Nintendrew had mentioned. Next, I decided to continue my search on first-party sites such as Amazon and Gamestop. There, I noticed that both were selling different cover arts for the game. The main difference between the two is the logos, where the PAL version has Warner Bros, Nintendo, etc, the NA version only has the logo of the publisher, Ignition Entertainment. While Amazon was selling games with the PAL cover, I saw that Gamestop was selling what can be assumed as the NA cover art. Finally, I looked on Nintendo's website and the ESRB to confirm some loose ends. On ESRB's website, I found that there was an actual rating for the NA title, but not much else. When I looked on Nintendo's website, I believe that I found what I believe to be some sort of divider between released and unreleased. There, I found out that the cover art for the game matched the one that I found on Gamestop, but also that there seem to be either a lack of production of the game or just a flat out cancellation of the release. When looking at release titles for the Nintendo DS, I was able to find the game, but no way to buy a physical copy. I thought of this a confirming point but soon found out that other games also had this lack of physical copies. This story, of course, has many twists and turns after all, with some collectors on Reddit explaining how a NA copy of Animaniacs: Lights, Camera, Action is actually real, but didn't find enough physical evidence to base my conclusion on it.
Therefore, I think that due to a dwindling fanbase and a horrid review score, Animaniacs: Lights, Camera, Action was canceled before release. Thank you for reading, and I hope this satiates for those who were wondering about what happened.

I’m obsessed with the “welcome to the town you now own a farm good luck” genre, Rune Factory was my gateway drug and while I have yet to actually obtain games 2-4 I religiously watch every video about them on UA-cam and one day I’ll buy them all and waste my life, along with harvest moon and every other similar game I can get my hands on. I even got inspired to plant a vegetable garden at my house. You ever get so addicted to a video game you start being productive in real life? Yeah. Too bad I’ll probably never get my hands on the one in this video.
The rarest game I found for DS was Rhapsody, perhaps you should look into it.

I like that his intro is just flexing his Nintendo stuff.
I've got 4/5, I'm only missing Shepherd's Crossing. I've been looking for that forever.
Complete though, that's a whole other story. I only have LRRHZBBQ (what a mouthful) complete, I hate how hard DS cases and manuals are to find. Some of those are worth more than the games themselves.
It's odd too because the cases were plastic and so nice and you could put the game back in there when you were done. I never kept my GBA game boxes, but I kept all the DS game cases and even the handheld's box for a while.
I'm the other way around; I've got Shepherd's Crossing CIB, but none of the other games XD Always on the lookout..
shadowDriverV2 Wanna trade? :^ )
@@asciicatface It's probably because people would often just take the games with them in those cases that can contain a bunch of games. Boxes would end up lost over time. It's so much easier to find Sega Genesis games in boxes than it is for Super Nintendo. Those cardboard boxes didn't last. When you do find them they are usually in such a bad shape anyway.

I recently learned about Solatorobo from a different video and it makes me really want the series. I just love the artstyle and the story sounds pretty interesting too.
My guess is that NTSC Animaniacs DS is the Honus Wagner Card of video games - it was released, or at least manufactured, but recalled so fast or even before official launch that only a few copies of it slipped through. If it was recalled before release, there is a chance that some store somewhere didn't send back its shipment and kept it or sold it. Had the recall been post release, then for sure at least a few copies exist somewhere.
Drew,
I've put together a small collection of DS games that were important to me during my childhood. I'm not out to collect every single game in existence, but rather 10 or 15 games for each console that I've collected, and there's something I've gotta ask you. Do you have Kirby Super Star Ultra for the Nintendo DS? I have a cartridge of it and ten more empty DS boxes, but I have not found even one full scan of the cover art. Maybe you could scan it in for me and a few others...?
Best regards,
Drop/Brandon

I recall the Animaniacs game in Gamestop when it was new and thought exactly "Why is this out when that show has been over for so long?" I can't recall if it was the GBA or DS version unfortunately. Gamestop online has them labelled for $15 on DS if they are ever stocked though.
I watched this then went rummaging through my DS games. I have two, Solatorobo and Magicians Quest. Then I had to dig in separate boxes for the cases...whew, I do have them! I keep them separate so if someone lifts the case they won't get the game. That's happened to me. Solatorobo has a Soundtrack that came with it. So I fired up Magicians Quest to remind myself. Wow, nice! I didn't expect Solatorobo OR Magician's Quest to be on here. I'm really glad I now own two of the top 3 most rarest DS games! Solatorobo I got online (loose cartridge) for ~$45. And Magician's quest (since I later learned the importance of buying it in the case for collector's value) I got for about ~$120.
I picked up both Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ and Solatorobo for a few bucks each at Gamestop a few years ago. I had no idea they were rare.
Nobody acknowledges Spirit Tracks, it wasn't rare, but it was amazing. I personally liked it better than OoT but who am I to judge
To be fair Spirit Tracks does have a limited edition version that came with a tin which is absurdly expensive. Not sure if it's in America but it is in Europe.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective Yeah. I hadn't heard about that before, that's actually really cool
you forgot the mcdonalds ds game
Hey dumbass, you know this video is over a year old right? eCDP was found around a few months ago.
@@Gigashart911 *when this was made the game was still rare dumbass*
I was pretty lucky to get Solatorobo when I did, it was a $20 Impulse buy and it was still brand new.
Oh boy the challenge could be tough
The NTSC version of animaniacs only came out in Canada.
Any proof? NTSC is NTSC, if you can prove it exists
@@Nintendrew I worked at eb games when it was suppose to come out. It was dropped at the USA stores but not Canada's. No way to prove it though. Sorry
I once saw a ntsc ps1 game call Asterix on eBay, It’s a PAL game and it must have been released in Canada because there is no information online about a ntsc version
REALLY...if that's true, then I, being a Canadian, might want to do a bit of game hunting, since I have a working New 3DS. At least, I would if I were an Animaniacs fan, but I'm not.
@@jonahstoyroom7516 Asterix is HUGE in France. Arguably their biggest comic-book character. If one of his PS1 games got released in Canada, it was probably only released in Quebec. Being Canadian, that's my understanding of the situation.
What about bomberman land touch 2
I really need to get Solatorobo. I've heard so many positive things about that game. It looks fun.
Awww this is nice! A nintendo video in 2019
